Looked his age last year after being stellar the previous season and here we are getting the year older version. If he was bench assistant coach then yes please as this means Strachen is out and that can only be a good thing.

No thanks, he failed miserably in Sheffield and his hockey was so boring! Yet won the league in Belfast and his giants team were the only challenge to Panthers in 12/13 Corey Neilson won the league, the Continental Cup, the second round of the CHL, numerous CC and the play offs titles, would you want him back?

I think his name was being bandied about with Shuff around playoff weekend. Time to fire up those Doug Christiansen rumours - Manchester Monarchs have shut up shop! No thanks, he failed miserably in Sheffield and his hockey was so boring!

Rheault score a dismal 6 goals in 30 games!
There is now way he is getting another crack at this team unless he’s on a uni deal, Lepine too..
Can’t see a league challenge next season as Sheffield, Cardiff and Belfast have far superior Brits and are not handicap with lame imports before the Seaosn has even started.

What news do we have on our new scoreboard. Any information on what sort we are having. Something to look forward to!! The bulk of the main stuff arrived from Argos a few weeks ago, they are now waiting the wiring/cable ties which weren't ordered in error. If you look on check-a-trade there's an advert posted for a sparky to do the install. Assume the Argos bit is sarcasm?

www.panthers.co.uk/home/190429-doucetFrom the club’s latest article (linked) they have all but confirmed that Rheault and Lepine will be returning for their 2nd year. This was expected news but I’m still disappointed. Maybe I’m being harsh on Rheault considering he was injured for the majority of the season, but they were both passengers in my eyes and were two of the last players we should have kept on, university deal or not. I think we need to start being wiser with who we select for these deals. I agree 100%, I would have Lepine as injury cover at best, he is very lucky to be on a Uni deal, otherwise I am sure he would have been out the door. A real shame as already the team is at a significant disadvantage.

I agree I thought Lepine was poor, Rheault maybe can give him a full year see what he can do. Farmer and Perlini are on two year deals right? Farmer and Perlini are on multi year deals.

Ciaran Long leaving the storm? Classed as unknown on Elite Prospects. Or is he off to Australia for some summer fun Just read the article on the storm site, he’s moving to a new tram as the storm couldn’t match the offer he’s accepted from his new team. Could it be us?! Bet it’s Belfast! With the delay in the appointment we will have missed the boat!

Found it, and just listened to it... he was gushing about Rick around 5.30. But did say he wanted to do well in the CC and PO, where we failed, but you can hear his passion for Europe, so maybe securing a place in Europe has nailed him in!! Ahh well, that makes the decision regarding the season ticket easy, as surely when we crashed out of the CC in such a dreadful way that Black should have been onto his contacts to get a good replacement. Sheffield certainly didn't hang around! www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p06yvvnn

I've got a funny feeling those saying they've heard it's strachan and Green are just looking to wind up those less than happy with the current situation. Similarly to when nobody expected Black to sack Chernoclue I think he is very aware of what's needed and he wont appoint Rick based on the aweful end to the season. 🤞 Agree, there's no way they go from trying to get someone with bigger league experience, like Chernoclue, to settling for Rick and the clipboard guy. Would be completely ridiculous. But didn't Neil Black say if Rick made his targets that he would get the job? That's what people are saying. Does anyone have a link to that interview, as I cannot remember seeing it and I cannot find it on the Panthers webpages.

Similarly to when nobody expected Black to sack Chernoclue I think he is very aware of what's needed and he wont appoint Rick based on the aweful end to the season. 🤞 People are saying it is because he met the targets that NB set, securing top 3 finish, making the finals of the play offs and qualifying for Europe. I think its really weird that nothing has come out of the club, especially when they were so transparent about last season. All they need to say is that they are in negotiations with one or two experiences coaches. We knew last season that was the case and it was between Dan Ceaman and Cherno. Why so cloak and dagger this season, they haven't even been honest enough to say who is coming back and who will be looking for opportunities elsewhere, instead we get fed with news that players already on two year deals are coming back! Next week we will no doubt hear that Farmer and Perlini are back, after they have made a positive impact with GB... even though we know both are on multi year deals.. I am so fed up with this club and it doesn't deserve the loyal and at times gullible fanbase it has.

Was thinking about going to this but then looked at the price and all tickets are £18 + £3.36 venue fee so probably won’t bother. Looks like the curtains will be down as well so only half an arena anyway. Looks like the price has been sent by IHUK as well - personally I think they’ve missed a trick and it would have been better with tickets at half the price and a significant crowd watching. Crikey rather OTT isn’t it £21.36 for a friendly. Jeez they know what they can do with that ! 🙄 Only ten pounds in Coventry!

If it’s Strachan, does he have to use himself as an assistanr as well? Apparently Dan Green is assistant coach.

A fair few tweets and FB activity saying Strachan is back as head coach, his reward for achieving the goals set by Black, making Europe, finishing third and getting the team to the Play Offs, Pretty underwhelming but will no doubt please the masses who think we had a good season. i thought he had to come third and win a trophy. People saying Black was so impressed we made Europe and he values that over the league, who knows, but a lot of debate on social media with many fans over the moon at this potential appointment.

Funny how they all had exit interviews in the week and they have not mentioned who, if any are coming back! Giving some bull about letting them tell their family!
Unless guys on a two year deal have been given the chop (we can only hope!) and those on a one year deal wont be offered a new deal, why can't they just come out and thank them, wishing them well! The secrecy and lack of communication is shocking!
Considering how many of the fans feel you'd think they would be quick to say who we are waving goodbye to allowing us to say good riddance!
It is also a concern that there appears to have been little movement on the coach! Does that mean that Moran and Rick will be signing players for the new coach when he is finally appointed!
What a mess!

'Among those under contract and returning next season.' But then doesn’t state who “those” are. So frustrating, the club must thing it’s a fun game of suspense when really it’s just annoying and bothers me. Just state the returning brits all at once. Then announce the imports returning. Then announce the new coach. Farmer, Perlini and Lee are for starters! Not sure about Lacho.

"Just been told who our new coach is from a very creditable source. Can't say anymore yet but it's going to surprise a few people. No, a lot of people." From Paul Balm's Twitter Are believing it's true? I read it and presumed it was a massive wind-up! Pure attention seeking... I know something you don’t know, but I can’t possibly tell you what I know...

Just a point, I hope Belfast win tomorrow solely for the fact that Evan Mosey deserves to win nothing for the way he celebrated in front of our fans this afternoon. He’s scored cup winning goals for us, our fans have loved and adored him, we’ve welcomed him back with open arms after leaving the first time, but the money pincher has the audacity to celebrate and fist pump the air directly in front of our fans after scoring a goal. He deserves nothing and I hope everyone is routing for Belfast tomorrow. No issue with him celebrating the first goal. Our games with Devils have been tight and his goal was a great start. And why mock him for going to Cardiff for more money, hockey careers are short so good for him, I’d do the same as would you! . He turned down Devils and much more money to come back for a second stint with us because he committed that to Corey, that was honourable. I’m hoping for a Cardiff victory tomorrow as if Giants win they’ll be shoving the fact they won a ‘proper’ Grand Slam down our throats along with that lot up the road for ever more,

Similar season to us, just went through the stages at different times.
Hopefully we'll get an announcement for our Coach sooner rather than later, let's face it, Play Off Weekend is probably the start of speaking to players
Who’s your money on for Panthers coach ? A lot of whispers it’ll be Henderson..I’ll be underwhelmed if so as you just know Rick and Dan will be supporting again..
