I'm of the same thinking Gsxr, we have other players have been slow to get going, but are starting to look ok now. Tuma arrived after a long car journey and with a groin strain to boot - so expectations were perhaps a little to high to start with. Corey will know how he performs in training and has clearly still some belief he can do a job for us - I will watch and wait.

Thought it was, overall, a very hard fought battle by two hard-working teams. Giants had the better of the chances available but ultimately both goalies deserving of their mom awards.
With the injury list mounting up, hopefully Tuma will be fit, and have shaken off the groin injury and make the most his opportunity next weekend ... and give corey a headache on who to scratch in future games.

Not sure that Stewart got a touch on the goal that was awarded to him He definitely did. It was right in front of me It was also right in front of me, from block 4, but i thought it just bobbled in front of him and made its way over the line without a touch. However, I said I wasnt sure, so I'm happy that it was given to the right man - thanks.

There are a number of variables involved regarding whether Neilson would/should return to the ice after he's recovered from his injury. Will Weaver be back, and looking good. Is Tuma going to make the grade - you'd think that he was making progress in training, else he'd have been gassed(?) ... though still seemingly the weakest link else he'd be playing and we'd be resting a forward. How long is Stewart going to remain with us after the return to fitness that allows a full import roster to ice, and Neilson to sit as a spare. and perhaps most importantly the results achieved over the next few weeks.
To sum up - I've no idea.

Hasnt OwenB / BBC done the occasional radio commentary for the Giants away game - got a faint recollection that ive watched the stream, but listened to Owen+co instead of the stream vocals?

Enjoyed last nights game, thought it was our best team performance this year. Ling deserved his MOM, showed great skill, but also worked hard every shift. Second period we had great presence in front of their goal, esp Matt Myers .. and not forgetting his presence actually in the goal! - cant believe Hirsch said that put him off for the preceding washed-out goal - tsk! Third period, we looked like we'd settled for the win and werent trying to hard to add to the scoreline. Thought we were looking good for a shut-out but good goal by Leeb on the PP, then Green was unlucky with the rebound that got Blazes second goal. Was massively surprised Olsen didnt try to rattle a few cages as the goals went in throughout the 2nd - I'm sure Jurynec would have bled (literally) for his team last night.
Not sure that Stewart got a touch on the goal that was awarded to him, but has got great speed and would love to see him on a breakout and go one-on-one with opposing keeper.
Tonights game ought to be more of a challenge, thoughwe have every reason to be hopeful of a win at the O2.

my experience has been the picture quality has been very good - the commentary is a tad suss though! Sometimes the streaming has been known to stall, so personally i set it up on both my laptop and pc and have them side by side - which they often run slightly out of sync, which means i watch the one thats in front and get an immediate replay a few seconds later if a goal is scored, big hit etc ... works for me

Lep will surely be covering for Coreys injury, which will mean we are still short on D with missing Weaver. That being the case should we be resting/cutting another Dman at this time, .... unless Fox is going to play D to replace Tuma, and Leves covers Weavers D role?

BIRBRAER BANNED September 29, 2012
After an official request by Belfast Giants, the Elite League disciplinary panel has reviewed an incident from their match at Cardiff Devils on Thursday 27th September 2012.
After an extensive review, including reports from the three on-ice officials and slow-motion footage, it has been decided that Max Birbraer will be penalised with a match penalty for a check to the head on Belfast defenceman Brock Matheson.
The penalty carries a three-match ban and will now be enforced.
Head of discipline, Simon Kirkham, said: "The evidence shows that the main point of contact for the check was to the head and neck area by Max Birbraer on Brock Matheson, which means that Birbraer will be assessed a match penalty.
"This is covered in the IIHF rule book under 540 - Checking to the Head and Neck area paragraph A - and covered in the EIHL suspension guidelines with a minimum tariff of three matches.
"The disciplinary panel have not increased on the minimum tariff, so Birbraer misses three matches."
The matches are follows:
Saturday 29th September 2012: Cardiff Devils v Edinburgh Capitals
Tuesday 2nd October 2012: Cardiff Devils @ Nottingham Panthers
Saturday 6th October Cardiff Devils v Sheffield Steelers
He will be free to return for Cardiff''s trip to Coventry Blaze on Sunday 7th October 2012.

If he's training then that would count as paid work so I'd expect he'd be icing at the weekend well the lack of "stewart in to play saturday " headlines may say different . just playing devils advocate but i think its still a waiting game as again nothing saying his clearence has been granted in any press release . There you go LJ33 ... Nottingham Panthers 2 hours ago via Twitter Just to confirm Panthers fans, we are expecting Anthony Stewart to make his away debut this Saturday #panthersnation

Great player, great goal-scorer, always 100% effort - couldn't ask for more. My favorite out-skater these past two years.

He is by a long chalk the best goalie we have had of recent times! Regularly keeps us in games with flashes of the glove (last night he made some superb glove saves at crucial times) and his puck handling and distribution are a huge asset to the team. ... and he scores goals!

Funny how people see things differently. I didn't see it has Danny was milking the appluse - I saw it has he was thanking the fans for their support over the previous 6 years, and the fans reacted in kind by showing their appreciation of the service he showed to the club over that time. Its done now.

That's two threads you've mentioned that on. Why? Boo the steelers yes, but not Danny he did nothing wrong to panthers... Not like champagne. People do what they want but I have respect for Danny as a great servant to our club. During the game he's just another steeler, after the final buzzer he deserves respect for what he did with us as our captain Agreed.

I honestly dont know why some of you continue to torture yourselves by continuing to follow the Panthers - if it comes to the day im so cynical about them, i'll simply move on to something that gives me pleasure, rather than the pain you seem to be suffering week in week out.
