I just checked and the sold out signs should be up tomorrow for Saturdays match against the Squealers!! There appears to be less than 50 seats up for grabs..... nervous but neither optimistic or pessimistic.... Can't call this one.

So long as the OS is more bothered about giving us regular updates about 'Dust off the sold out signs', 'Gallivan (forcibly) tells us how he has heard of steeler panther rivalry before coming to uk', 'Year book offer still on' etc etc instead of giving us a useful game preview that doesnt consist of tickets or consumables being rammed down our throats.
Black out, GM out.

and has milked the cash cow ever since Leol, NB has imho had far more out of this club than he has put in. Now as the "owner" he has a right to do whatever he wishes and as a businessman has every right to make money in whatever way he sees fit but please do not treat his as a saviour because i find that a little tough to swallow.

In fact, sometimes I think we were better off in the old rink. The atmosphere was brilliant, we had some crap players at times, got beat most of the time however when we occasionally beat the big teams it was worth all the previojs beatings. Never mind.

I honestly dont know why some of you continue to torture yourselves by continuing to follow the Panthers - if it comes to the day im so cynical about them, i'll simply move on to something that gives me pleasure, rather than the pain you seem to be suffering week in week out.

Personally I am a panthers fan and go to support the team, whether they are winning or losing. I think it would be silly to stop going to games and supporting the team i love just because of the owner and the G(uiness)M(an). The team have been around for a long time, whereas the reign of NB and GM is only a blip in the panthers timeline. Soon they will be gone but the panthers will remain. So I dont see why I would stop supporting the team just because for the owner and gm.

Such Cynics. I for one am looking forward to going to the fabulous national ice centre for the biggest ice-hockey rivalry in the world to see my double double double double double double panthers.

I would want to see a real Ice Hockey fan, passionate about the Panthers winning the league, with honorable intentions. I don't understand why people "look up" to Neil Black. He may have took over at a time when the club was struggling but in his mind he was thinking "how much can i make from this business model without having to invest too much money"? not "lets make a steady profit and win the league for the fans for once". Im telling you now, we could walk this league if Black wanted it. Instead, its clear hes milking the clubs popularity, giving us average teams and basically taking the p*ss! I mean come on people, players like Tuma playing for Panthers, he looks like he'd fit in better at a club like Edinburgh (no disrespect intended). He certainly ain't winning team quality! And yet still, we have many fans saying "Give them a chance". The mind boggles! Were the Panthers, we should have quality players signed from the start year in, year out.

Exactly spot on, take the new forest owners, they are listening to their manager and supporting him bringing in new players, fawaz seems a passionate guy who wants sucess on the pitch . NB and GM never seem to focus with on the ice activities. Its wrong and i don t know a so called sports team quite like them , perhaps if you take the premier league then Arsenal would be simular to panthers as they have two of the richish men on the planet on the board but chose sucess of the pitch rather than on it, their fans deserve better and should be in the running every year also

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the object of a sports contest to win the game?
Why the hell are people wanting us to go back to losing week in week out just for the odd big win?!?! If that's the case, go and support Edinburgh or Hull. They need the fans.
No way would I trade in watching a semi-succesful Panthers team for "the good old days". And that's despite our NiC fan base being so quiet you can hear Grumpy Miner fart from the other side of the arena.
I'd love our arena to be pumping each game, obviously more than the majority of our fan base (hence why I can't usually speak after games) but I want to see us win more than that.

I don't care how much money you've made for Neil Gary, i want team news, player thoughts etc. Confirmed it even more for me the 1st game Gary announced. "Buy your 50-50, prize fund is £x" repeated over and over. Annoying, as it showed what this club is really about

theres too many people i reckon about 75-80% of the crowd are now relatively new to the sport/team who really don t have a clue what GM/NB have done (or lack of) over the years , they just come for the night out , im convinced of that. Hell i hardly see any of the old fans i used to see from the old barn . while this high percentage continue to turn up on match nights, absolutely nothing will change and this is down to the fact where the arena is situated, as people use the opportunity with panthers being at home as a extended `night out`, these two me ain t the passionate fans who will air their views. Had the arena been built on the outskirts of the city then see how things may have been rather different ...

Not that I am sticking up for anyone, but I like to deal in facts. In the last three seasons, out of 3 trophies the Panthers have won the following:
2009–10 League - Coventry Blaze Playoffs - Belfast Giants Challenge Cup - Nottingham Panthers
20010–11 League - Sheffield Steelers Playoffs - Nottingham Panthers Challenge Cup - Nottingham Panthers
2011–12 League - Belfast Giants Playoffs - Nottingham Panthers Challenge Cup - Nottingham Panthers
In the last three season the three trophies have been split:
Nottingham Panther = 5 Belfast Giants = 2 Sheffield Steelers = 1 Coventry Blaze = 1
So we have won over 50% of the trophies on offer. I know we have not won the league in that time but in recent times we are the most successful Elite League club. I know I prefer winning and being part of a successful hockey franchise.

Thats very nice Jerome but you should know the die-hard supporters have wanted the league for years now. Going on performances so far, this teams going to win diddly squat. Then again, maybe thats the plan? We've had a few years of success so now Neil spends less on the team, fully expecting less success but knowing the fans won't demand it due to recent triumphs. You won't find facts to back this up, its just intuition.

Check it out! The OS has posted a 'Big Game Preview' (they mangaed to find time to write it between writing the 'on the way to a sell-out', 'psst...wanna a ticket (typo from site) for the big game' articles. Lets take a look at whats inside - maybe an in-depth look at the sides, their seasons to date, player interviews etc etc. Nope. We have pictures of the players reading the match night programme, 2 sentences about the line-ups, Rick Strachan (likely reading from a script) plugging the game, a further update that there are only a handful of seats left, a prompt that there are radio updates (likely more scripted gold), a sponser plug, a match night magazine plug, parking and pizza offers, yearbook 'offer' and rounded off nicely with a 'why not buy last weeks dvds for this special price. Maybe they should have plugged that as 'trouble sleeping? simply buy last weeks saturday game dvd and watch periods 2 and 3'.
Basically the 'big game preview' has 2 sentences of token effort team news to disguise what is just another advert. The day i win the euro millions i will buy this team and turn things around.

I want the league as well, I walked out of the Saturday night game when we went 6-4 behind in disgust and I have never walked out with 6 minutes left before. All I am trying to say is it is not all doom and gloom, but yes I don't think the following players are up to it this season: - Beckeet - Werner - Tuma We need a complete new D in my opinion.

I agree on those 3 as the main weak links. So far, this years team just is'nt as entertaining for me to watch. We look disjointed and disorganized. It will be interesting to see if Corey makes any changes or persists with these 3. Personally, i can't see them improving much, their attitude seems wrong to me like they can't be bothered. Still puzzled as to why they did'nt try harder to persuade Lepine to stay, he's good but i would'nt say he'd have got in to the AHL. Fair play to him for having the drive and ambition to go for it though!

There are several reasons for this as you already know first is belfast (and sheffield to a lesser extent) dont treat the challenge cup that seriously whereas panthers make alot of money from fans that turn up.
As for the playoffs come on seriously, we have a huge advantage as our fans do not need to travel, i have even heard some fans wanting "there own seat"...

And also the league is the MAIN trophy given the way the others are played in this country when did the panthers last win that one? (And yes its a rhetorical question we all know the answer thank you!!)...
