Paul Kariya goes Free Agency due to uncertainty at Preds! Would LOVE to see him wearing a TML jersey! ;D Now that the cap has been raised to $50m, Toronto have around $6.4m to spend on a free agrent, so Kariya is well within budget as is Ryan Smyth.

To be honest Shin, with FA the way it is, i expect Smyth and Kariya to touch $7m.
You want to leave yourself a million free for injury call-ups anyway.

If Smith gets $7m per season, then the world has truly gone mad. Good player but not great. It's also been reported on the Fan590 that Vesa Toskala has received a contract extension but it wont be announced until sunday when it becomes official. Toskala the back up? Yeah right.

I really hope Doug Wilson hasn't dropped another 'Kipper glanger' in SJ again, Shin theirs no contest between Raycroft and Toskala, Vesa will end up with the starting job, I'm still pee'd off with this trade

According to tsn.ca,Boston, St Louis & LA are all interested in signing Ottawa restricted free agent goalie Ray Emery although it would cost any team their 1st, 2nd and 3rd draft picks in 2008.

He's not worth that. Told you the offer sheet would become more popular!

Canadian reports claim Boston have obtained Manny Fernandez from Minnesota for Petr Kalus & a 4th round pick. Florida have signed forwards Richard Zednik & Brett McLean. Calgary have signed Jarome Iginla to a new 4-5 year deal while San Jose have done like wise with Joe Thornton. Atlanta have signed centreman Todd White to a four year contract worth a reported $9.5m. Anaheim have signed Detroit defenceman Mathieu Schneider to a two year contract. Daniel Briere has signed for Philadelphia, the contract length is a whopping 8 year deal worth $52m. The deal features a NTC and is worth $6.5m per season. Calgary have signed Cory Sarich to a five year deal, worth $18m.

Danny Briere!!!!!!!!! Get in, it's a long contract but it's front-loaded, making it more attractive for a trade if he wanes later on in the contract. The NTC can always be waived.
I am so excited right now, bring on October!!!

Happy with the addition of Blake, who makes the team better as at least we'll have someone to put the puck in the net.
Not happy with rumours of Blake being a dressing room "cancer" but the Leafs dressing room survived Corson & Tucker's clique, so meh.
The additions of Blake, Bell & Toskala have me feeling optimistic for the new season.

There must be something up with the mans personality Shin. To get someone like that for so little suggests something is up.
You'll make the play-offs this year.

Brian Burke has lost his marbles, $4 million a year ! for someone who could break down , i though we offered sufficient with $2.5 mill P.s. Glad Land has been snaped up, we ve got to get someone like Michael Peca now or perhaps Guerin but only for the right amount Holland says we ve got in the region of $9 million to spend on forwards and around $4 million on another d man, and its expected we ll re sign Danny Markov

Seems a bit overblown to me, putting a lot of stock in them delivering.

It's not $10m a year you know? Yeah, but won't they both make $10m in the first season, which is what I meant? That's still a fifth of the cap on one player. Seems a lot to me.

It doesn't quite work out like that. Basically, it's front-loaded, but only the average goes towards the wage cap. He'll earn $10m this year, but only $6.5m will go towards the cap

Hopefully, when we(Senators) announce our new coach, we may see a couple of decent signings coming our way.

All the top players have gone now, bit late for the Sens.
Nagy is an e'nag'ma. He's got enough ability, but seems to be a touch injury prone. 14 points from 25 last year is a poor return, especially for a team like Dallas.
