No this is not a knee jerk reaction, but lets be honest, IMO, we get too many games like this during the season and it is not good enough. This does ME no favours for coming back next season(unless he's been told he is) and quite honestly i'm not bothered one way or another.

The game was a nothing game...panthers treated it as such in the main but Phoenix wanted to actually win and get some momentum for the playoffs. We werent that bad just sloppy passes and us hitting the post/bar an incredible 5 times! On another night they would of gone in and we would of won. Mac and Bergin were everywhere tonight.
Yeh we lost but im not bothered as it didnt count for anything and it was quite a good game, we just got checked all the over the ice but we hardly got physical with them.
Hope Myers will be back for next week a massive loss if not.

Not preparation for playoffs at all!
Sloppy passes, not enough hussle from everyone not tone setting at all.
Yeah we were unlucky (post 5 times)but most looked like they couldn't be arsed imo.
I wasn't impressed with ferrera today which is a shame as he has been greatly improved this season.
I was impressed with cloots tonight, lots of checking, little niggles and looked dangerous going forward. At times i noticed molin having to stand up for himself against cloots with ryan no where to be seen and they were on the same line! I wouldn't mind seeing him here.
Well done mac, bergin and wally put a lot of effort in. Also richo is making me eat my words hope he keeps it up.
2 positives- we can only get better and manc will give shuff problems.
Rant over.

yet another example of a lacksa-daisical attitude... yes the team treated it as a training session and we got pretty much what we deserved and unless these meaningless games are transformed from losses to wins then the league yet again will pass us by next season. Personally, i think the "new look" lines should be put back to the old look lines myself as imho they plainly arent working...

Was it just me getting furious at how many long-range shots we were taking on Frankhouser? He's a quality goalie, we should be getting in his face by crashing the net and scoring the garbage goals.

look on the bright side we have helped phoenix get their game together with a great deal of confidence ready too dump the steelers out of the playoffs, so not a total disaster!

I thought Coleman was worse than hopeless Quite right, that guy's a huge letdown, I'd take Stanny back any day of the week. Personally, i think the "new look" lines should be put back to the old look lines myself as imho they plainly arent working... Spot on Tex, looks to me like Mike's spreading the talent too thin. Pat stuck on a line with Matty and James? Waste. I'd rather see two lines with a decent threat about them, plus some form of checking line. Going to need to up our game big time for next weekend. Anyways, that's my whinge over

Yes, it was a nothing game, but people paid to get into this game and as such, deserve some effort and commitment. It would help massively to go into the games against Cardiff on the back of a fine result and with settled lines. We didn't get either of those from tonights game.
Meh. I still think we ought to beat Cardiff if we approach the game correctly, but what we were subjected to tonight was rubbish.

Abysmal nights `entertainment` whoever thinks we can just change attitude and switch momentum on like that are living in a dream world, it ain t happening and won t happen. Terrible lines from start to finish. ME has a lot to answer for after that.
Right i wouldn t pay Coleman and Shmyr in washers, both a total waste of time . Molin did nothing too. Id be tempted to Bench the later and De register the former and bring in Stancok
The only players to come out of the game with any credit were Mcaslan, wally and Corey i think.
Why o why does Ellis insist on playing Mac with two brits !!!
Then when Myers gets screwed he plays mac with wally ... excellent but then the other linemate is...... FERRARA!!! WTF , sort it out ME
Thats just the game , then onto the awards, christ, our best player whos been consistant throughout gets NO award for his efforts ut Ferrara manages too.
Then we have to listen to GM on the mic for 30 + mins, pity there isn t a Mute button on hand . The OS says the awards went well... not from where i was sat

We had a key Brit injured & I dont suppose we wanted anymore. It was a dissapointing spectacle, & I too feel short changed, & actually considered shouting ''Ok we've turned up..when are you guys gonna show up?'' I just couldn't get that worked up about it enough tonight. It wouldn't have changed anything. Elly DID mix up the lines tonight, & it didn't work - I am just glad he did it in a practice game.

I don't expect hell for leather, just like i don't expect 50%. If the team only plays at half effort, they ought to refund 50% of the ticket price. I just don't buy that a profesional hockey club cannot give it their all in a game against a lower-league side with a whole week before the next game. As Myers showed, if injuries are going to happen, they're going to happen.

look on the bright side we have helped phoenix get their game together with a great deal of confidence ready too dump the steelers out of the playoffs, so not a total disaster! "Chickens" and "Hatched" fit into a phrase somewhere perhaps. You think your game was the "pants", you would have loved the tripe we served up against the Capitals. I am seriously considering reporting the Steelers to Trading Standards under the "Trade Descriptions Act". Hope we meet in the play offs. That should be a great occasion.

As the subject of the lines has come up after last night, i agree they were not good and looked out of place.
A point made to me last night was that mac and bergin should be put back together. For about 10 games they both picked up points, (often having multi point games each) many a time you would see mac charge into the zone drop it back it kev and BANG one timer straight in no messing! Lets see it again please.
Another note from last night it was a shame that fankhouser didn't get their mom while he had a lot of luck, you make your own luck and made some cracking saves.

What, so no one was shouting to keep Mike tonight then? These are the kinds of games that we should be winning without even trying. This is exactly why mike should go at the end of the season, he can't rally the troops for a "nothing" game so theres a big problem. Glad I wasn't there ( even tho I did pay for the game!) Glad I'm not wasting my money on the playoffs ( as I'm out the country)

Poor effort from most of the team. Shapeless, one dimensional and disinterested would be my opinion.
Manchester played to win, we didn't. Fair enough a nothing game but it cost me the price of four tickets to watch it. Maybe next season I'll be more judicious in what games I choose to watch, after all if the team can't be arsed why should I?
