With how our season has been going we lost the last two, so in theory we should win the next two. Play-offs here we come. Just trying to inject a little optimism, cause at the moment we sound just like our friends up North. Steel talk is awash with what they did wrong last night, or what they should have done. If their players read what the fans are saying, it will do nothing for their confidence, and Manchester will walk all over them. ;D (Good Luck Phoenix)Same goes for us, we had a bad result for whatever reason, lets hope it gets sorted in the week, and we can beat the Devils next weekend. ;D ;D

We got what we deserved last night...nothing,how many games have we played this season, and we are STILL swopping lines about !! As for the steelers, lets just say they were happier for coventry to get edinburgh in the play offs cos they will give coventry more problems than the bison would have !!!

All I can remember from the pre game spiel was that Panthers were not going to do what they seemed to have done....end of. This was not Panthers 'going all out'.

no 1 chris you talk about first timers not coming to watch the panthers again but you never do so strange analogy, as for the other bit do you want to talk about football or ice hockey!
somebody explain to me why whenever we lose it is because we didnt try rather than on the day we got beat by a better team!
bramley if you think i dont want to win games then you are stupid pal, what it was is a realistic look at the fact that it didnt matter in the end, so why all the usual doom and gloom, and re teams cannot just turn it on, i will to pinch chris's tendency to go for football, barnsley, cardiff. west brom, all teams who are not running away in their leagues but have turned it on , in the one off cup game or got lucky?
You seem to think that because some people do not use this forum to continually whinge that they dont care, why is that do only negative people have a valid opinion or what personally Alf got the title of this spot on and you guys have not let him down!
Finally tell me were i said i was happy about the performance , i am happy that we did not pick up any major injuries and good luck to manchester they deserved the win, they wanted it more, but in hindsight it was a nothing game with no effect on our season whatsoever, and if they are going to play pants as you put it (personally i dont think we were that bad) i would rather that was yesterday than next saturday/sunday wouldn't you bramley!

Oldman complaining about people complaining, how surprising.
Your attitude towards those who have the cheek to complain about paying for that stinks.

What ever rocks your boats guys cannot all be the same can we ?

Bottom line, from a Panthers point of view. It was a poor spectacle, extremely frustrating to watch and bar the odd exception the team didn't look too bothered.
We don't make our possession count either, and haven't done all season. This game could have been out of Manchester's reach if we'd had more craft in their zone, but our play is so sluggish and predictable, making defence easier than it should be.
Some matches we've seemed on fire, but not consistently so and these performances have been few and far between.
Last night's match was indicative of a malaise that's run through the team all season. It's why we're nowhere near the League Title.

As we all know, the 'PROPER' team will turn up next weekend, the panthers team that won us the challenge cup,the team that tried its heart out and never gave in,the team that we all love to watch. I hope and think we will beat cardiff,if we dont we will have been beaten by the better side over the two games, but one thing is for sure,we wont be posting on here about a lack of effort next week. Last night, despite any quotes in the paper that we would still be going all out,we didnt,we went at 85% and got beaten by a side who wanted to win more than we did. The paper says what is required to keep bums on seats, after all,can you imagine ME saying "we are'nt to bothered whether we win tonight so im going to switch a few lines around, tell the players to make sure they dont get injured and hopefully we might win". I dont think GM/NB would have been too pleased with a crowd of 3000 if he had said that in the paper. I think we again have a 'big game' team this year which is ok by me,however,if we want to ever win the league, we have to have either an exceptional team that can win on a wet wednesday in edinborough through skill alone,or,a team that loses the mentality that the play offs are everything and the league comes secondary. To me it seems like a mental attitude problem, when we want to play (like we will next week) we are a very good team, when we are'nt bothered....we get what we saw last night !

Well I was talking hockey you brought the football (and rugby) into it lets see, rugby union, cricket, ice hockey, and some football stadiums, but doesnt mean you dont want to beat them just now and then people need to remove the superfan glasses and appreciate the quality of the opposition, a bit like the saracens fans had to against the mighty Ospreys yesterday! ;D As for me not going to games what has that got to do with the debate.

I think the rules regarding moving the net to prevent a goal stink. surley if a player moves the net, gives away a penalty shot, then the penalty shot is saved. the fouled against team should get a powerplay? I know this isn't the rule, but it needs changing IMO it suits the offenders. can't the refs give a penalty goal?

I'd take the penalty shot over a powerplay.Deffinately a chance to score. same rule as if a stick is thrown in last two minutes I believe.

I agree about the penalty shot however with us atm a pp or ps doesn't make much difference. Like you say though at least a ps is a chance to score straight away.

I mean if we miss the penalty shot, then we should get a powerplay as we didn't score on the penalty? just thought it would be more fair as we were about to score?
Anyone else think one of our (Neilson?) shots went in and bounced out again? the shot was deamed to have hit the bar, but it made no 'ding' sound, i'm convinced it hit the roof of the net and bounced out? anyone think the same???

I was sat on goal line in block 13 and tbh i didn't think any went in that came back out we were just shockingly unlucky.

Fair enough, you had a better view than me. just weird how all the rest which hit the pipes made a 'ding' sound? probably just being optimistic.

If you mean the shot shortly before the third goal for the Phoenix? The puck appeared to drop from the roof of the net and land about 20cm inside the goal line, behind the goalie, then skid out on the right hand side of the net. I sit in the lower half of block 14 and all of us on my row and the one below noticed and started pointing and shouting!!!!!! I doubt the goal judge could see.

No none of them were goals, it seems that whenever we hit the pipes people claim its gone in, happened earlier in the season against devils too.
If you arent sure watch the players reaction, none of them claimed a goal

Like I said boy You started that football comparison not me, I'll ask again can you show me the thread where I start the football comparisons. And once again for you, your quote starting the football analogies lets see, rugby union, cricket, ice hockey, and some football stadiums, but doesnt mean you dont want to beat them just now and then people need to remove the superfan glasses and appreciate the quality of the opposition, a bit like the saracens fans had to against the mighty Ospreys yesterday! ;D

Ref had a long look at it and looked to the goal judge, would have been difficult to see though.

It would've been difficult to give but the player response was the key. No-one made a real claim they just turned and skated back down the ice and normally the players make strong claims for possible goals.
