So, what are we thinking?
I think it'll be a tough campaign, there are 2 spots and Italy will take one of them.
I see the other spot being between us and South Korea

This will be GB best chance of getting back to the top tier as this division is quite weak compared to “usual” due to the ongoing issues caused by the Russian conflict. There is the ever growing chance that at some point Belarus/Russia will be re-integrated and that will have an impact on this level especially as it will become much more of an even playing field in future when you factor in teams such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Hungary, France potentially.
Coupled with the main core of the squad being on the back end of their career it’s a chance we absolutely have to and I expect us to take. I can’t see anything other than Friday vs Italy being the Gold medal decider

GB trim squad ready for WC 'Great Britain have released eight players from their training camp roster today with the departure of defencemen Josh Batch and David Clements, as well as forwards Kieran Brown, Ben Davies, Sam Duggan, Sean Norris, Ross Venus and Brandon Whistle.' shouldn't they have waited until after the final warm up game, or was there an IIHF deadline to meet. If the latter, then shouldn't they have played the final warm up game yesterday ? Clements has impressed me when playing for GB, Batch is always useful as a D and forward, Davies and Duggan have speed. hopefully the players left in the squad will seize their opportunites.

Surprised they dropped Batch and kept Tetlow. Same with Davies and Lacho. The squad does look fairly strong though.

Looking confident at 3-0 Still absent of putting out correct stats. 5-5 SOG or 16-4 good grief

Tells you all you need to know about Korea that Bowns gets a shut out but not man of the match.
That was so ridiculously 1 sided. It really shows that GB have come down after 3 years at the top level.

A shutout, not a bad start.
I think the time we've spent at the top has been worth it, if it helps us get back there and then we bounce up and down then the experience can only improve us, maybe even get our guys big moves away from the EIHL, it didn't happen for Ben O'Connor when his move to Barys in the KHL fell through.
Then there was Bowns who moved to Austria but injury cut short his time there.

Good game and some great performances. Liam Kirk is just another level His skating is incredible. Clearly he was good to get drafted and get the opportunities he has, but the opportunity to train and play where he has has pushed him on so much more.
