Top top job.
It really is important to reflect on how far this team has come. 5 or 6 years ago we were getting promoted from 1B and that was special. Getting promoted from 1A was a fairytale, something almost all of us found hard to believe. Then again staying up in the top tier, twice. Now we go in to a tournament like this expecting to get promoted. Those 3 seasons at the top have made such a huge difference to the standard GB can deliver. Players like Kirk are looking a step ahead of a group that really isn't beneath us overall.
Say what you like about import limits and the EIHL but its that set up that has produced the players that got us here.

Didn’t realise we had Stiffler in goal for us.
Hammond looked decent in this company. Be nice to see a few of these playing for us next season.

4th time in the top tier in 5 years, the players and staff around them have worked absolute miracles to get us where we've been in recent years. On paper we shouldn't have a prayer, but that's why we bother to play the matches, and a reflection of all the work and sheer willpower everyone in the team has.
Makes you wonder how higher we could be if there was proper investment and youth development system in place.

Great result that! Nice to be back at the top table. Well done all, so good it was in Nottingham too

Probably did some good having to drop down this year, it's nice to do some winning and give some newer players some experience.
Anyway I believe that last time in the top tier, we played some teams tough and gave them a fright and I'm sure there will be a team, we will fancy beating.
Wonder if that Canada friendly will get rescheduled or a team of similar standing.

Well that was bloody brilliant.
Total GB fan now. But the import limit still sucks 😁

From the bits of the tournament I saw there was one or two good individual performances for me .. sadly none of these will be attracted to panthers next year, they'll be stuck with the likes of Tetlow again 🤦

There were lots of great images of players celebrating at the end of the game, proudly holding their children, partners etc. Just imagine how proud you would be if your son was part of the team, even better if he scored a goal or two in the last match,AND was voted GB's best forward. AND you got to see him do all this standing behind the bench. Corey (and family) must be feeling great today. Cade has been outstanding.

Got up too late to review the game. The other half (her indoors) has got the Coronation on till the afternoon. Go on admit it, you’ve gone back to watch several clips. How many times have we watched that final few minutes. Great game. Now to the summer.

Also watched by his Mum, brother (who by the way is another excellent prospect) and his very proud Grandparents who travelled from Fife. Brilliant performance from this young lad who is not yet a professional hockey player . Also mention for the other ‘newbies’ especially Halbert so had an excellent tournament. Atmosphere was unreal, better than any league game I have seen in a very long time.

The atmosphere Sunday was better than any league games in years so I imagine yesterday was awesome. Certainly sounded it on tv.

Went to watch the game against italy with hope rather than certainty and as someone who isnt a staunch fan of GB this was the BEST game of hockey i have seen at the NIC for many a year. It was played with total intensity from both sides, with each side trying their best to win. Great goal tending on the whole and clear forward lines who showed an ability to play together (looking particularly at hammond, perlini and kirk, if only we could get that line next season). It was playoff hockey at its best and why i watch this sport.
Problem now is if panthers cant deliver this level of effort and intensity its going to be a disappointment, i can take that the skill level might be lower but there really would be no excuse for a lack of desire or effort.
One last point here, it clearly reflects on the crowd when the hockey is played at this intensity as the crowd was one of the best we have had at the NIC and if panthers delivered that level then the crowds would respond.

It was good seeing Hammond in particular play like we thought and hoped he could.
