Does anybody seriously believe that just because Panthers got a supposedly big sponsorship deal that they will spend it on players. Don’t make me laugh. They could have blown the other EIHL teams away for the last however many years.....and didn’t ! 😂😂 Why not? Why wouldn’t they? Is there anything panthers do that you like? Not a lot no. Love the sport, but absolutely hate the way it’s run at Panthers. And history tells you they won’t spend that sponsorship money on the ice. People say Neilson was a great coach and Panthers spend tons and tons of money. That’s garbage and it’s the reason that out of the last possible 20 trophies they could have won,all they have won is....One play off,two challenge cups and an Erhardt conference. For a team like Panthers, with the limited opposition they have.....that’s utterly crap !

So are we to assume, now that "are finished with them", that you made your last post ?

I'd go no to Lee (there is better out there) Can you point to a better British defense-man than Lee? Ben O'Connor would be the only comparable skill-level IMO and they play a completely different roles within their teams. I was very critical of Lee last year, but this has been a pretty good season for him. A return to his former-self somewhat, playing a simple physical game, I think he should even be getting his own save percentage on Elite Prospects with the amount of shots he blocks. Say what you want regarding the effectiveness of his captaincy, I definitely wouldn't say his leadership is a particularly noticeable presence on the ice, but he is a solid British player and it would be a tragedy to see him leave to another EIHL team. I'd have to say that Mark Richardson is the best British D man out there at this current time!!

Richardson is far better at defending, O’Connor is far better at offence.

How good is Gagnon as a defenceman? He’s obviously the best scrapper but I don’t see him week in week out to know if he can play a bit too.

Here are the goalkeeping stats for this season for all 82 games (pre-season, CHL, League, Challenge Cup and play-offs combined):
Galbraith: SOG 1092, SVS 1000, GA 92 - SVS% 91.58% Garnett: SOG 1347, SVS 1211, GA 136 - SVS% 89.90% Gospel: SOG 176, SVS 157, GA 19 - SVS% 89.20% Overall: SOG 2615, SVS 2368, GA 247 - SVS% 90.55%
The corresponding stats for last season (76 games) were as follows:
Wiikman: SOG 1512, SVS 1383, GA 129 - SVS% 91.47% Pacl: SOG 559, SVS 503, GA 56 - SVS% 89.98% Green: SOG 97, SVS 77, GA 20 - SVS% 79.38% Overall: SOG 2168, SVS 1963, GA 205 - SVS% 90.54%
Just for comparison purposes, here's the record of MK's goalkeeping trio this season (figures relate just to League and Challenge Cup games):
Wiikman: SOG 1703, SVS 1539, GA 164 - SVS% 90.37% Pacl: SOG 463, SVS 418, GA 45 - SVS% 90.28% Odrobny: SOG 119, SVS 109, GA 10 - SVS% 91.60% Overall: SOG 2285, SVS 2066, GA 219 - SVS% 90.41%
So what's our best move on the goalkeeping front for next year? Does anyone know if Galbraith wants to stay? If we retain a two-import-GK policy, will Gospel want to stay? If Galbraith stays (we assume Garnett will as he came on a two-year deal), would Galbraith be the definite No. 1? Does all this matter a lot less if we recruit a team that, as a whole, scores more than the 3.52 per game and concedes fewer than the 3.17 per game that were the averages this year? Are there any British-qualified GKs of a similar level to Galbraith who could be used to free up an import slot for another skater? All questions for the management and the new coach to ponder.

How good is Gagnon as a defenceman? He’s obviously the best scrapper but I don’t see him week in week out to know if he can play a bit too. I wouldnt rate him particularly highly, plays a steady simple style but has struggled against fasterskaters. Strong on the puck when going forward on the rare occasion and has quite a decent shot. His toughness defines his game, but he doesnt hit as often as I would have liked to see him do. His play was also unusually quiet for the latter stages of the season, but then we were also getting desperatly short on D at times and couldnt afford to have suspensions. Corey may have asked him to tone it down. Would have liked to see him play forward for a couple of games in a similar to role to what McGrattan played last year, being a strong body to screen the net and cause havoc. Shopping for a Fitzy replacement?

Corey may have asked him to tone it down. That’s exactly how I saw him too. He can certainly play a bit, very tough, and did a pretty decent job,but I was expecting a much tougher Dman in general play who hit hard on the boards and we didn’t get that. Probably just not fast enough on the big ice to be able to catch players and hit them. I’d take him over Fitzgerald any day though, because Gagnon wasn’t a liability in the penalty box.

This I think is a real positive sign. It's very rare Panthers allow stories out of this nature. Unless things have changed the post only generally publish what Panthers want them to.

Thanks for the goalie stats. I'd have thought that Garnett's 89.3% in the league would have got him sacked in years where we didn't have a strong back up. I'd be looking for ways of getting out of his two year deal or if we have to keep him to see out his studies, only on a reduced backup package. My biggest disappointment this year with his non CHL game performance. Surely we must have some contract protection with these Uni deals in case we sign a dud?

If we’re going in tweets, he’s “looking forward to coming back in August” so I don’t think we’re getting rid

Early one he was taking the man a lot, later on he was trying to play a positional role. Although he plays the enforcer role, and doesn't fight unnecessarily, I'dd like to think we can do better.

A lot are crying out to get Perlini signed up and I think thats a good signing, Derlago's stats are up with Perlini's and the young Russian Mokshantsev looks full to the brim with talent but whether he will return Im not sure, Pither looks a decent player to resign, I don't see Lindhagen unless Mosey goes elseware or Phillips returning

Mok didn't sound like he was coming back to me, when he was tweeting his thanks a while back. He was talented but seemed to drift in and out a bit.
Difference between Perlini and Derlago is the passport, makes the former miles more valuable than the latter. We can improve on Mark, we've no chance of improving on Brett.
