It’s an incentive for a “higher profile” player, knowing they can get a masters degree whilst playing .500 hockey with relative job security is very attractive I’d imagine. Thinking of life beyond the game when they come in.

Can’t imagine why we would have Garnet back as a backup on a uni deal. Overlooked for the entire play off series there is no way another year on him will make him good enough to start next year.
Pither should be signed at any cost. Clearly in a different class both skilfully and mentally to almost everyone else in the team.

One through his legs (not the first time),one at his near post, he didnt close the shooter on O'Connors goal, and didnt react quickly enough to the first.

Patrick has been outstanding for the majority of this season and that is reflected in his numbers. One game doesn’t define a player. I’m not quite sure what goalie you have in mind who wouldn’t concede a sloppy goal occasionally, and especially one who would want to play in our league For me he has done well and we should be looking to keep him and players of his calibre

I'd add Gagnon to the list as i think he's a solid DMan. Lee and Lacho can go as far as I'm concerned even though they are brits.

You hope we can do better than the BEST save percentage in the league? Facts are this year we've been over reliant on our goalies to bail us out and we get outshot far too often because we collapse too easily and don't keep pressure on the points. Galbraith is legit the best goalie in this league IMHO, however the defence in front has been woeful. that's where we should be focusing; I'd keep Gagnon because he fills a role and is okay defending, Lee for his passport, Sauve (although I'm on the fence as I'm sure he costs a decent wedge and is quite lackadaisical in our own zone) and Tetlow for the future.

Completely agree, the defence has disappointed, we need players with a combination of size and speed at the back, we need to copy Cardiff’s structure imo.

Apart from the Brits the only ones i would keep would be... Galbraith Brown Pither Sauve
The rest either didn’t produce what they should have or just weren’t good enough in the first place !

Pretty much agree apart from Sauve. Quality at times but a liability at others. I'd add Vaskivuo and Mok as possibles but like you say the ones that really deserve a new and improved contract are Pither, Brown and Galbraith

Galbraith, Brown, Gagnon, Pither & Perlini would be the players I’d be looking to ink to new deals, followed by Gospel & Betteridge.

Great guy,but to be honest for the money he was probably on this year, apart from the play off quarter final 2nd leg he’s been pants. Look at his soft defensive play for Armstrong’s overtime winner. Mosey might as well have just stepped aside and said there you go John get in there pal and have a free shot. 🙄

Cost us a goal v Belfast at home in the qf also for me Garnett was the big game player and should of palyed the play offs imo.

Disagree garnett would be the wrong choice. He was signed as our number one but hasn't proven it by a long shot

Brilliant on his day but struggling for weeks on end.

The problem we are going to have re signing players is not having a coach in place as of yet, these players aren't going to wait just incase the new coach wants them, if they get offers they will take them. I think half of braehead problems this year was down to tripp being appointed pretty late and the majority of the good quality players already had new teams.

They made a point of saying they wouldn't wait too long when they told us about the CV flood, I'd be surprised if we didn't have a new coach by the end of April at the latest.
