You’d imagine all the Brits would have been signed up before going off to play on the world stage. To wait would be at best silly... Coach offers/extends deals, he isn't on our shores yet.

Oh this is a tough one....
A player only has a limited playing career and so must make hay whilst the sun shines. There's a reason why his dad Fred wasn't a 5+ season or even 2+ season player for the Panthers and that's because when the big money UK clubs came a calling he chose Fife... And yes in those days Fife was the big spender in our league. So I'm guessing dad's advice will be grab your chances and the money whilst you can because it not come around again.
As a supporter, I'd like him to return, but not at any price or for that matter a price that possibly creates rifts in pay disparity within the dressing room.
Better to use the potential of playing for GB at elite level as a carrot for any other (unknown by us) players with a British passport.
Hopefully Bret will have the strength of character to remain with us.

He managed to sign his own deal from wherever he is, so you'd imagine he'd be able to work something out with the players too.

He’s spoken to all the Brits - for most,’it’s just a case of sitting the I’s and crossing the T’s. Perlini will obviously be the exception as he will more than likely get more offers.

Perlini is only one player of several who over performed he isn't the only one who's raised eyebrows O’Connor and Dowd are both still in current contracts with the Steelers, for what those are worth anyway. Perlini isn’t though. He’s bound to go unless Panthers cough up some very good money.

Richo will already have had words with him before he left for Hungary. Relax

As Iginla said, contracts aren't worth all that much.

Calm down Iggy top clubs may take a player like Perlini on a trial basis but to make it as a import in Switzerland or Sweden for example you need to be pretty special and consistent. Perhaps Europe wise Austria or Denamrk may be his level..remember when he joined us he was in the east coast.!

Like John Casey said I'd be more concerned regarding Bowns .. he was Stella against Hungary and will have got noticed. The Penalty shot save was the turning point

You’d imagine all the Brits would have been signed up before going off to play on the world stage. To wait would be at best silly... From having spoken to several British players at the World Championships (not just Panthers players, either)... the impression that I get is that a fair few times they wait until after the Worlds before coming to any decision. Sometimes they'll have already signed, sometimes they won't but it would only be a formality... but some do genuinely want to try their hand in Europe and use the Worlds to showcase themselves. Cant blame them... Remember that there are two parties involved - club and player. And it's not always the club that dictates the proceedings.

Spot on Shaggy.
Evan Mossey left us to try his luck in the AHL, we wished him all best. He left with a gentlemans agreement that if he came back to these shores he's offer us first dibs....
That says more about the character of the man than any xycom interview telling me how wonderful the Panthers supporters are.
As a club and a league we have to make being here and playing in this country more attractive than elsewhere.
We have a major advantage in that we speak the lingo. That there's more to life than hockey, schooling, social life, extended family, even just sitting at home on the sofa and watching tv that's in English is a plus.
Living out of a hotel room or soulless environment as opposed to one that enriches the life of the player is a benefit that can be offset against pure cash concerns.
Anyway.... Just a ramble.

Relax I may be reading too much into it, bit the continued coverage of how Brett did in the GB tournament makes me think something has already been sorted. If you look at the coverage on the Panthers site there is continued mention of Perlini and Betteridge but no mention of Rob. Again probably nothing but does make me wonder.

Sounds very promising on all three counts there then ! 😉
