Very pleased with this but he will take a while to get into the swing of the mad world of UK hockey so I hope he is given time to make his mark from the fans.
In his interview on the dictaphone (with XYNOMIX) he spoke of fast aggressive hockey...I like the sound of that!

Quality appointment!
Can’t wait to see what his recruiting is like and what type of team he puts out? Big, fast and aggressive! Nice!
Now if Moran can stay out of team affairs and let the coach coach then we could be on to something here.
Good luck!

Personally, expecting a new coach with mainly new players to blow the league away is a bit of a stretch. Looks like a good appointment and he's saying the right things as expected. Excited to see who he brings in and what kind of team he builds. Hope he has the character to put Moran firmly in his place and is able to do his job with no interference. I'll be happy with a decent powerplay and a consistent team that turns up on a regular basis.

Wow, this looks a great appointment! Can't wait for next season. Well done to Panthers for showing ambition and getting in the kind of coach we all wanted.

Potentially a very good move, this.
Being cautious, I think it would be a bit silly to expect instant success (we can hope for it, of course!) - but this is a good sign. I remember long-time Nottingham hockey stalwart Mike Urquhart saying that any new coach should be given 3 years before being judged (unless he is obviously terrible). Hopefully he will be given at least a bit of time to make his mark.
I do like the comments about aggressive hockey (hopefully meaning speed, scoring and constant hard checking rather than dumb goonery)... got to take any PR with a pinch of salt, though.
I do think that a lot of the earlier comments about us being slow to sign a new coach are a bit silly... with this announcement being less than 10 days after the finals weekend? That's no time at all!
Again it's PR, so not to be blindly trusted... but I'm hoping that the comment about his contacts list is accurate. His career path would indicate that it is...
Welcome to Nottingham, Rich!

Panthers could cure cancer and some on here would say how its part of the master plan to screw fans. I really hope people give Rich time to settle. Im not expecting a silver bullet. Next year is a build year, i expect us to be competetive but not just automatically favorities.

looks a solid appointment on the face of it. Lets not all get carried away as he will probably need some time to settle in fully to british hockey.
Couple of signings he could make are
Patrick Jarrett (potential captain?) and CJ Stretch looks like he could be useful.
Looking forward to seeing his team and style of play

Looking forward to seeing his team and style of play I looked at some of the players he had last season and some of them would do a real job over here. Stretch would be a huge signing.

3 of Frankfurt's Canadian have been released, the aforementioned Patrick Jarrett, Stephen Seegar and Clarke Breitkreuz. Of the 3, only Jarrett has any playing pedigree but even he has been in the German lower leagues for almost 10 years so I'd doubt whether he's be of benefit to us.

Jarrett is a good player but I'd hope we'd be looking at younger guys. If anything I'd expect Jarrett to end up in Belfast with his brother.

It’s early days, & no puck has been dropped yet - but reading about #NottinghamPanthers NEW coach, has lit a spark of interest in Ice Hockey again for me. I was tired of all things Panthers for several years, for multiple reasons. Richard Chernomaz, sounds like the missing piece of the puzzle for Panthers - a whole wealth of experience at a much higher level than UK Hockey. The fact that he’s focused on aggressive, attacking, entertaining hockey - sounds perfect. You just have to wonder on a couple of points... 1/ How much of this spiel is from GM? 2/ How will coach Rich, cope with assembling a squad on a vastly smaller budget than he’s used to?

Pretty decent looking coach. I'd like to think anyone who has had the success he has had in DEL and DEL 2 could atleast bring a sprinkle of that to our shores.
Welcome to Nottingham, hopefully your stay will bring trophies and great looking hockey.

I would think Panthers budget is pretty similar to that hes been used to in DEL2 - maybe slightly less, but the calibre of player he should be looking to sign will be similar i would have thought

I am glad we went with someone outside of this league. Whislt we don't know exactly what we are going to get that does make it a little more exciting. Also please be the end of dump and no chase hockey. Can't watch another 2/3 years of that. Fast and skilled sounds good, we shall see.
The NEP have confirmed that Dan Ceman and Liciano Basile was on the shortlist.

Very happy with the appointment. Coming from leagues with a not too dissimilar import quota so he would know the value that Brits can hold in this league.
There will be a period for him to settle in but I don’t think it’s a case of waiting years. Not saying I expect a grand slam in year one but I’d be setting a season long league challenge as an absolute minimum expectation.
Does anybody know if he has been signed on a multi-year contract?
Question is weather he will be given the resources to not only compete but dominate. Looking forward to seeing the pedigree of the first few new faces he brings in.

Does anybody know if he has been signed on a multi-year contract? Not revealed as of yet. I interpreted it as one year initially going purely on the phrase that “he’s been appointed for the coming campaign”. Would be strange wording if it’s a multi year deal.

Knowing how Panthers do almost all their player contracts it could well be two years with the second year to be agreed by both parties.
