If we rated players on their first couple of games, Ling and Graham would not have even unpacked.
Everybody knows that the guy is a prospect, even Panthers did not build it up like they usually do.
Mosey would not even have got here he was going to be that bad....

Although it is difficult to know what each thread is about, as most end up the same way.

Tell me again why Panthers signed a forward when it's D man Panther need!!!!!!!! Because the coach was a frustrated forward rather than an actual defensive-minded d-man.

I don't believe for a second that CN knew he was even on his rusty invalid radar until he was in the air on the plane here. He's a good lad but it was obviously another behind the scenes (that's off ice NB by the way) tie up deal.

Has he registered any points so far?

Has he registered any points so far? Nope, don't think so. He's on a line with Lacho and Ollie which makes Sarkanis look like a low end Brit IMO - not sure if that's because of his line mates or down to him not actually being that good.

At least with him getting smoked earlier we finally saw Big Ern step up...so that's a positive contribution

What a waste of a signing this has turned out to be. Where the speed they said he had? Rubbish

No point in criticising Sarkanis really, playing with Betteridge and a declining Lachowicz.. That's the furthest thing from the recipe for productivity.
He's a project player too, wasn't Corey's intention to bring him in to turn out fortunes around.. Nobody could've done that. Simply a signing to give Corey an opportunity to see what he can do under his tactics and mould him into a decent player for the EIHL. If he'd have been bought in early Pre-Season, had time to adjust then I think he'd do okay. Just hasn't got the right linemates and is playing on a failure of a roster. If he's here next season, he'll likely differ to what we've been seeing.

I've nothing against him, but he was a quickie signing to make it look like we were doing something. We've seen it before.

He shouldn't really need development here from Corey. He's played in the KHL and was the top point scorer on his ALPSHL team... it's not like he's some guy getting a call up from the EPL to see what he can do.

If he's here next year as anything other than a 3rd spare import then we will have learnt nothing from the last few years debacles. You could also argue that playing with Lacho and Ollie,he should be looking good against those two ! I'd wager a little bet he wouldn't get 20 points if he played a full year next season from what we've seen so far.

Okay, few people doing their usual criticism whilst showing zero knowledge about the game. He may not have Mosey like speed and no points thus far however he is on the FOURTH line. This line has been our most consistent since being put together, they get the puck in deep and fast. They force turn overs, they are constantly on the puck carrier. If you honestly think this hasn't given us something then you are blind and just ignorant.
PantherB Sorry buddy but Lacho is not on the decline, new role as a bottom six forward. Maybe remember what that role requires and look at his points for a bottom 6 player. He's having a very good season that everyone seems to be disregarding due to the last two seasons being bad and because he isn't at the 50point mark you assume he's been bad. Find me a player on the team causing more turnovers on the back check and on the PK (spoiler alert, you won't).

He coughs up the puck too much and has no physical presence. He's not good enough for the EPL let alone the EIHL and only maintains his place because he's a Brit.

Find me a player on the team causing more turnovers on the back check and on the PK (spoiler alert, you won't). I've no idea where you get any kind of stats to base your ideas on on that Lacho causes more turnovers than anyone on the team. One assumes you've counted every turnover and who caused it? Anything else is just guessing. What I know (because I've counted the stats on every goal all season) is that Lacho is currently -6 for the season, third worst on the entire team. Only +1 better than the defensive zone void that is both McGrattan and Clarke. If you think that, coupled with his 4 goals in 43 games, is the hallmark of a "very good season", I guess we'll agree to differ. Although, to be fair, compared to his 3 goals all last season, it has been better of late.

Find me a player on the team causing more turnovers on the back check and on the PK (spoiler alert, you won't). Getting a new role from the top line down to bottom 6 forward isn't exactly on the upward trend. Last time I looked (spoiler alert, today), Panthers were 7th out of 10 on the PK this season. Sort it stands to reason that 6 other teams have better players on the backcheck, causing turnovers & on the PK? Go back 4 years and Lacho almost could put a trade-mark on his move of lifting a stick and stealing the puck from behind. I've not seen him do that for a few seasons now! So unless you have different proof that Lacho is excelling defensively, I think I'll too just stick to my own eyes and see him as a poor, declining forward.

I've nothing against him, but he was a quickie signing to make it look like we were doing something. We've seen it before. If the import limit is to be no more next season (fingers crossed) as has been rumoured (among many other things) then there's definitley room for a 'project' type player like Sarkanis on the 17/18 roster.

Big if, plus not something Neilson was aware of when he signed Dave and him and Gary quickly came up with some spin for it.

What's the betting Neilson has Sarkanis earmarked to be turned into the first 1000 mile an hour defenceman the EIHL has ever seen ! 😂
