From the games I've seen, which admittedly isn't many this season, I'm not sure I agree with the "keep them all" arguments - regardless of who's coach. I get the impression Bohmbach and Schultz think they're too good for this league and just haven't got the points you need from top forwards at a top club, Lawrence is too hot and cold, Wiikman is too risky given the constant injuries, McMillan too slow and doesn't get enough points, even for a grinder. Janssen, Mosey, Kolnik I'd definitely keep, the others can probably be at least equalled. And if a player will only sign if Corey's coach, then I'd question whether they're the right fit for the club anyway.o We're going to finish mid table. Sweeping changes are needed. I wouldn't disagree with your player assessment Dp,apart from Macmillan that is. He can move and he works very hard. The issue is Corey with his tinkering with lines, his reluctance to change tactics like the powerplay when even his players can't fathom them and his refusal to beleve it is his job to motivate his players. Couple this with plenty strange and penny pinching management decisions and you have a recipe for league mediocrity. Ask yourself this question. Why does Simmsey want us to keep Corey and say we would be mad to get rid of him......and it's not because he just likes him. Here's a clue.....there is an ulterior motive behind it !

Should they stay or should they go?
Madolora - As a Back-Up, Stay. Wiikman - Jury's Out. Green - Brit Back-Up, Stay.
MacDonald - Jury's Out. Schmidt - Stay. Dimmen - Stay. Quick - Stay. Oakford - Stay. Waugh - Jury's Out. Lee - Go to Europe. Swindlehurst - Stay.
Clarke - Stay. Not as Captain though. Lachowicz - Go to Europe. Myers - Stay. Bohmbach - Jury's Out. Kolnik - Stay. Schultz - Jury's Out. Mosey - Stay. Lawrence - Jury's Out. Farmer - Stay. Moran - Stay. MacMillan - Stay. Janssen - Stay. Betteridge - Stay. (Even if it's a 2-way with an EPL side).
Neilson & Strachan - Go. Loved Corey's time here, he is a club legend, but it's time for something new.

Comparing points totals to last season, they're very similar, though this season of course, they are a tad higher. 2014-15 2015-16 It appears more than anything that it's the lack of points from Lachowicz and Farmer which are the biggest issue. Huge declines on last season and that was a shocker of a season. Personally though, if i had to choose any players i wouldn't take back with open arms it'd be Waugh, Lee and Lachowicz (debatable). I'd like to keep the rest or attempt to keep them at least, though for MacMillan, he plays a role lots and lots of players out there can fill, he isn't irreplacable and to me, hasn't shown any specific qualities which should make his re-signing a priority. On paper, Parent was better, i prefer MacMillan but they're very similar players.

It's a bit of a shock to me that people are saying the jury is out on Wiikman....
Even with his injuries, coupled with an arrival of a child he is still 2nd in the league in GAA and 3rd in the league on save percentage. I don't know about you but I would definitely be signing him if I was coach.

I know we have been HUGELY spoiled having K-wall the last few years...it was always gonna be a massive ask getting a replacement.

Forgot to add to above, sorry. Agree with the majority. However, would make Wiikman a definite "go", along with Lee and Lacho. Waugh may be on a 2 year uni deal and would make Lawrence a stay.

Madolora - Stay. Wiikman - Stay. Green - Brit Back-Up, Stay. (would like to keep the 2 import goalies we have and rotate as necessary. Unless of course a real ringer becomes available)
MacDonald - Stay. Schmidt - Stay. Dimmen - Stay if Fit. Quick - Stay. Oakford - Stay. Waugh - Stay. Lee - Go. Swindlehurst - Unsure.
Clarke - Stay. Lachowicz - Go. Myers - Stay. Bohmbach - Go too hot and cold for me. Kolnik - Stay. Schultz - Go, not been the same player since returning from injury. Mosey - Stay. Lawrence - Stay, as long as he isn't commanding a huge wage. Farmer - Stay. Moran - Stay. MacMillan - Stay. Janssen - Stay. Betteridge - Stay.
Neilson - Time to move on for me Strachan - Stay as Ass. Coach, but definitely not head coach.

Doesn't matter who the coach or players are until we change the culture at the club.

The only one i would argue with is Macdonald,he is bloody good if you watch him closely, great skater,I would keep him. Goalie wise,it might surprise a few people, but Madalora has the top stats in the league for both goals against and saves percentage !

I would keep Wiikman personally, before he had his injury problems he was by miles the the best goalie in the league and the summer break should give him plenty of time to get fully recovered.
I would let Dimmen go though. He was supposed to be our offensive d-man and be a power play guy. I don't think he's shown anywhere near the quality that we've had from the likes of Cody Wild, Chris Murray and Eric Werner who we've had in recent years and we've ended up Steve Lee on the power play.
Wouldn't really want Moran back either think he's been very underwhelming for someone with his CV.

I rate Moran and would keep him, a very intelligent hockey player, play him with Mosey and Kolnik and he plays well, besides he is here next season as he is on a 2 year deal with his uni course, as are Waugh and Dimmen

First thing I'd do is send our "med team" off on a few courses and change our fitness coach. We parted ways with ours after the GS season i think i read somewhere and it's been none stop injuries ever since. Something in that area needs changing just as much as personnel or priorities.

Should they stay or should they go?
Madolora - Go. Decent spells, no consistency. Wiikman - Go. Not durable enough. Green - Stay.
MacDonald - Stay. Really like him, very solid. Schmidt - Go. Good start, petered out. Dimmen - Go. Never quite clicked in I didn't feel. Quick - Stay. Like him, solid. Oakford - Stay. Waugh - Go. Good start, not the same back from injury. Lee - Go. Too unconfident in possession. Swindlehurst - Stay.
Clarke - Stay. Not as Captain. Lachowicz - Go. Playing at EPIHL level. Myers - Stay. Bohmbach - Go. Too inconsistent. Kolnik - Stay. Awesome all-round player. Schultz - Go. Amazing start, disappeared since Jan. Mosey - Stay. Unbelievable season. Lawrence - Go. We can do better. Farmer - Stay. Moran - Stay. But only plays well when with Kolnik. MacMillan - Stay. Good worker. Janssen - Stay. Made Captain and can ring his NHL/AHL mates over the summer. Betteridge - Stay. Probably best on a 2-way deal.

Made excuses and backed Neilson to an extent but after tonight I'm willing to swim to Canada with him on my back after that performance. No leadership, no emotion. We'll get the same old lines as usual. Time for change, this isn't panthers hockey. Players like Garden, Hadden, Webber gave their all every night for us, we used to be a club with pride and heart. I feel the management have lost their way and have lost the identity of the organisation.
