It'll be nice to see us play a team that haven't been to Nottingham in a while.

Excited! Time for the re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-match.
We should win this I would think. Baptism of fire for Gerad Adams though.

Possible 2nd place in the league actually makes it an important game now.

Going to be tough without Benny and Boxill.

Can't see us having enough in the locker here unfortunately. Another 2 points for you I think.

I see the GB Speed Skaters are at the game on Saturday. Hope they get a great round of applause, especially poor Elise Christie. I know we moan about our officials, but the ones she had to put up with in Sochi took it to another level.

Lol If Belfast don't want to play in Europe it is with good reason!! The CC has really impacted our season and I am hoping for a season only focusing on domestic cups, I'd be pretty annoyed if we took there slot and entered on their behalf. The appalling crowds who attended the CC show how much regard it is held in!

The game with Riga was the bright spot of the season for me.

I feel that taking so many injuries and the revolving door was far worse than the CC when you look at all the seasons play.

I feel that taking so many injuries and the revolving door was far worse than the CC when you look at all the seasons play. Not sure that the two are separate issues. How many injuries did Panthers pick up in the CC and how many of those players that went through the revolving door were brought in for/because of the CC? BTW, does anyone know if BBC Radio Nottingham are covering the game tonight?

Embarrassing.
Should be ashamed to pick up their wages after that performance.
Quite how people managed to cheer and applaud them off after that is beyond me.
Utter crap Panthers.
*Apart from k-wall.

I wouldn't read too much into that game. Panthers were very obviously trying out new systems - and completely new lines - and Corey even said as much before the game.
Steelers had a new coach so will have been well up for it - and if that's as good as that bunch of players are going to get, against basically a training drill for Panthers, then we've nothing to worry about.

What the hell were those tactics supposed to be at home ?
A sell out 7000 fans turn up and we play like Dundee did on the road.
The only travesty of tonight was that Panthers got a point they weren't even close to deserving,if Kowalski hadn't played a blinder goodness knows what the score would have been.
What happened to the Panthers teams that regularly used to hit 40-50 shots on goal, these days we struggle to have 20-25 most games.
That was utter poo poo tonight Panthers, appalling tactics and you got more than you deserved !!!!!!

Table (on fixtures thread)updated and shows what we have to do to retain second place after tonight's loss. Well done CLARKE, another goal and only THREE away from his 600 for the club. FIVE behind Mr.Weber in the all-time list.

Start of the game we seemed up for it and then went down the gears as steelers were ramping them up! Kwall outstanding again, norton actually was the first assist on the 1st goal with farmer as he stepped up nicely to stop the break out from steelers! Clarkey with his trademark howitzer was nice to see! But after that dead! And when Fata levelled Jacina (fair hit) IMO why didn't anyone go at him! From then it was all momentum SS, and getting out shot by 30 is ridiculous! Again thank goodness we have the wall that is K!

We keep peddling out the crap about the biggest rivalry in Europe and then we allow the players to come out and play like that. utter contempt towards the paying fans

Kowalski and the defence played well, two goals on forty seven shots tells that story but going forward it was shambolic. We should be building momentum for the Challenge Cup and the Playoffs, not poncing about with experimental lines and tactics. One point is more than we deserved, fortunately the Steelers weren't good enough to take full advantage.

I can take experimenting with new lines if the commitment was there but it wasn't.
We stopped doing even the basics.
Someone put on twitter 'losing at home is one thing but being bullied is something else' and they weren't wrong.

It may have been a poor performance from Panthers but as has been said, Corey was trying out new lines and systems and we were missing Henley and Benedict. I thought it was a great game for entertainment value. We were good for the first period, terrible 2nd and 3rd period. We just have'nt got players of the same class and skill like the previous few seasons. People bang on about how badly we've been hit by injuries and yes, that has had a major impact on us but we never signed stars like Ling and Beauregard from the start. I don't get why people say those sort of players don't come along very often and we can't expect class like that every season. Those players are out there and if Neil Black was willing to splash the cash and allow Corey to sign them, we could have got them. I still think Neil's not spent the same as last season. He knows our grand slam success will bring the fans and cash in, we obviously spent a lot on last years squad. I think hes been more frugal this season.
