GVL Recovery named as main/shirt sponsor Bit of a come down from NBS But the details are not public Dont think it says the main team sponsor. Announced as A major sponsor. McDonalds were also announced as a major sponsor the other day. Their logo will be on the front of the shirt. Luckily I dont think we'll be known as the GVL Nottingham Panthers.

5 imports signed so far and all look spot on. Another great signing. A long way to go to complete the puzzle, it's all about balance and round pegs for round holes now. A fantastic start to recruitment.

Just watched the Youtube interview. It has been said before but it's an often overlooked benefit of the EIHL. Sam mentions wanting to move to an English speaking country playing a big part in his move. Moving around the world is great, but when it feels harder to fit it then language and culture start to become a big draw, especially when players have a family.
Still buzzing about this news.

Incredible news.
We are looking like having a top 6 capable of matching anybody in the league. We are potentially looking at a 2nd line of Roy, Neimenen and Henbrant? A long way to go and some massive peices of the puzzle still to sign but it's looking good early doors. Wonder what's caused Black to blow the cobwebs off the wallet?

If he gets fit he could be the best Dman in the league. I would've had him back.

Social media is free. It costs nothing. They member of staff compiling the content isn’t though. I’m not against creating social media content but at least make something that’s actually of interest A lot of the social media content doesn't engage me, but I still understand that engages many others and helps attract newbies and casuals.

This is a great start. The top 6 is where the ability to compete really happens as far as forwards go. Henbrant, Herr and another would set us up to be up there. 2 Brits in the forwards. A big hitting type and a grinder needed and then perahps Michund and another to make up the bottom 6. Wishfull thinking but i'll keep dreaming for now. According to Elite Prospects, Herr is signed on for next season in Ravensburg I'm sure he'll stay there. Id imagine he could get out of it if soembody paid the right price though. Any player of that quality will do the job.

Brilliant. Exactly the calibre of player we should be aiming for. Not ar$ing about shopping in the French 2nd tier, if the rumours are true of course This is a great start. Fantastic signing. After the discussions earlier he does actually look a bit of a Sam Herr type signing. Less games in the AHL but slightly better PPG. Good age too.

The most interesring thing about that is he has been playing with Sam Herr. Likely means Herr has had positive things to say about Panthers at very least.

The thing that impressed me with Roy was his workmanship. He’d get points, but also worked his backside off getting the puck back when it was in our own zone (happened a lot last season). Let’s also not forget… he got 0 PIMs throughout the whole season. Genuinely couldn’t fault the guy and I’m delighted he’s back. Cant wait to see how many games he can stretch his penaltyless streak for.

Phenomenal. Well done Panthers.
Another 3 or 4 imports back and then add some upgrades we'll be looking much better.

Indeed. And Boivin did OK... I love how people can rubbish players without ever having seen them play. For the nth time, stats and/or the level of play don't tell it all. Take Collin. A good scorer on a team that will be in the Ligue Magnus this year. No-one's noticed his PIMs it seems, he could be lined up to do a similar job to Riley Brant in Cardiff, or Matt Alvaro in Guildford? "The ornery pest", a role Panthers have lacked in recent years, and plenty on here say we "need". Also, significantly, a positive outlier in the team's +/-, as well as second top goal scorer. There are plenty of positive signs, should he end up here. All you need is an open mind. I'd be amazed if he's a top line signing, of course. But a piece of a jigsaw? A player who plays limited minutes, but has a specific role within the wider team? Not amazed at all. Plenty of players sign straight from college and are plenty good enough. Recent experience shows that. Collin has a season and a bit of professional experience to draw on. Jeez, you don't sign a team of opening batsmen... And frankly, as yet, it's only a rumour... But on the flip side people will also call a player a great or stud signing just because he played a few games in a top league. On the whole though there’s a reason the top EIHL teams sign good CV players but the poorer CV players generally end up in Fife,Dundee,Coventry or Manchester. There will be some, however you don’t see many poor CV players end up in Sheffield,Belfast or Cardiff and that’s why those teams finish in the top placings. That's the bit that gets me. You are allowed to have an opinion on a player based on stats and CV as long as it's a positive one. Looks a great signing is based on exactly the same set of info that looks a poor signing is based on. A player with the record of this guy would be highly unlikely to get anyway near Sheffield, Belfast or Cardiff line ups. If he does sign, I hope he storms it, but it wont be a signing to get me excited.

Scott Conway still being an arse and not wanting to play? I'm not sure anybody really knows the answer. I think there is a high chance he black listed himself when he didn't play in 1A. He probably wanted to play on the big stage but got told to shove it.

The reality is that this is probably GBs worst worlds in about 8/10 years. Solidified 9&10 years ago in 1B. Then the promotions started to happen. Really showed up for a few years in the top division, even when relegated they showed real spirit and battling qualities. A great year last year to get promoted for this one. No unrealistic expectations on my part. Will always be favourites to come down when in the top division. Just getting there and playing those teams is a fantastic achievement. Just probably lacked that little bit of something tgat gave you hope before. Just never really got one of those golden performances they've managed to find every time before. Or perhaps it came against Canada in game it would never impact the result. Can never put the team down at this level. When I say worst I mean that relatively. Just the first time it's lacked a bit of magic in a lomg time.

Perhaps the Fan Liason officer had been given the boot? Nope, Lisa called me last week as I haven’t renewed yet (just because I haven’t had chance to sort it, but will be doing). Pretty much doing her job and engaging with fans and chasing up anyone who hasn’t renewed. Wasn’t expecting it, kinda nice to feel like each and every fan means something, but was always going to renew About 13 years ago I didnt renew as was going away for 3 months. One of the Black boys rang me to ask me. Somethimg they've been doing for a lomg time. I've not yet had a call, not renewed yet, but I will be.

But we also need to bear in mind that it's the *overall* two bottom ranked teams that get relegated. Not just the bottom team for each group. So it's possible for two teams from the same group to get relegated. "Relegation format The overall bottom ranked two teams of the Final Ranking taking into consideration all participating teams will be relegated to the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A." Chris Ellis Clarified this on Twitter yesterday. This only applies if Denmark finish bottom. Apparently poorly worded on IIHF website. ![](//storage.proboards.com/2117204/thumbnailer/0VeFFzTXTNxzmsWCUaiA.png)

Clements rumours still doing the rounds. We could still see us have that spare Brit outskater. I'd still rather have had Hazeldine back, but this would really strengthen our Brit pack. If you're talking about David his contract with Blaze runs until the end of the 24/25 season doesn't it? His extension signed last year was for two years. EIHL contracts mean next to nothing. If Panthers want him a deal will be done im sure.

I hate to bring it down to this, but many business owners and potential sponsors will see this. Our profile and media exposure went global this past season. The Nottingham BS probably got more visability this last year than the previous 5 combined. Obviously not all to potential customers, but even in the UK and East Midlands our shirts and branding visability was increased 10 fold at least. This next season will probably see slight increased attention compared to normal ones again. Might actually be a more attractive partner than before. The main area for concern would be bums on seats. Regardless of official numbers they have fallen in recent years.

Our group shouldn't be too bad to watch in fairness, should all be decent games and not too repetitive. It's the other one that'd bore you to tears. Indeed. In terms of our group fixtures it's fine. It's the farce of the competition overall that means I wont buy on principal.

There was me contemplating getting the new all games season ticket. Then hey presto they come up with this crap cup format. Obviously neither Sheffield or Manchester wanted to go in the Northern group. Completely understand Cardiff wouldn't want to either. With the groups as they are, Cardiff, Nottingham and Sheffield didn't want it set up so that only two of them could qualify for the semi's. So there is the extra eliminator game. So all on all we end up with this strange but sort of logical cup setup. I would much rather have two drawn groups of five and for the whole thing to be an Autumn cup finished by Christmas. Just like it used to be donkeys years ago. The reason i've put off renewing my ST. Was hoping this news would come out before deadline. Thats now 2 standard STs rather than 2 all in ones. Had it been 2 groups of 5 i'd have been highly likely to get the all in.
