x.com/PanthersIHC/status/18009512858035160472nd round Draft pick Defenseman capable of playing a lot of minutes. Coming in off a championship session in Denmark Elite prospects review of him from 2015: A very strong, transitional two-way defender that excels in pressure situations and isn't afraid to make the most of his, at times excessive, amount of ice time. Possesses a very high level of hockey sense, exhibited through the way he can read plays and play his part in them like a quarterback. Shows excellent mobility and, while willing to join the rush and create offense, is simultaneously aware of the back-end situation and is quick to backcheck. All-in-all, a complete two-way defender who competes vigorously, and is out to prove, every time he is on the ice, that he can be depended upon in all situations. (Curtis Joe, EP 2015)

He mentions "doing some schooling on the side". So maybe on the uni deal?

5 imports signed so far and all look spot on. Another great signing. A long way to go to complete the puzzle, it's all about balance and round pegs for round holes now. A fantastic start to recruitment.

He looks pretty tidy. Good experience, size and could be here for two years. What's not to like?

Very happy with that, by all accounts a good two-way defenceman, who plays a lot of minutes and also not afraid to be a bit physical judging by his highlight video.
Another good move 👍🏻

Looks a very good player. Experience in the AHL, two years in Austria and won a championship in Denmark. I’d say the direct replacement for Despres in terms of style of play and pedigree.
As has been mentioned. Can’t fault the player recruitment at all so far.

Doesn’t seem to rack up many penalties
Not sure how much EIHL refs will change that

It does feel like someone should really give him a job doesn’t it?! I reckon he’d be a real asset to a club.

Looks a good signing. More please! Now they are running raffles on each signing, do we think that there won't be a new announcement until the existing raffle has finished? In this case Monday 17th.

Making some serious money on these raffles, up to 2,000 tickets being sold for every player at £1 each! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

They ran the Sam Herr one at the same time as the other signings last week so I think they'll just run them as and when players are announced

It does feel like someone should really give him a job doesn’t it?! I reckon he’d be a real asset to a club. He does seem to be a very talented analyst He does a lot with a lot to make it look flash, I'll give him that. It's easy enough to trawl the Czech, Slovak, Norwegian, Austrian, French, Danish, DEL2, AlpsHL leagues etc and find free agent players who might be a useful fit over here, to be fair. Matt Wilkins, for example. If he wants to move to carry on playing, I'd be amazed if he's not talking to EIHL clubs. I was wondering about Darien Craighead last summer, as he had a similar career in similar leagues to many EIHL players and has the UK connection. McCiag's also President of the Tyler Welsh fan club and whilst Welsh's effort cannot be questioned (and I did like Welsh myself, for that very reason) the fact that he scored just 1 goal in 37 games is always completely glossed over. And someone called him out over a tweet about Steelers' depth scorers and their low icetime, pointing out that the ice time stats used were clearly/obviously incomplete, so his analysis was thus also completely wrong. He also was purring about Panthers "new" PP tactics in the second half of the season, which resulted in our PP going almost off a cliff, production wise. I enjoy looking at what he does, but is it always that insightful? Just because something looks complicated, doesn't mean that it's infallible. Good players generally have good basic stats, as well as good "deep" stats. Matt Spencer is an fairly simple guy to think would be a good target for an EIHL club, looking at the league stats. From the Danish league last season so is Bo Hanson (as McCiag indeed said) and possibly Josh Denaples? There were others, but they've signed elsewhere already. Ex-Danish league players (in general) tend to do well in the EIHL. I'd love to be able to see his stats that he gets, though. Shot attempts, PP and PK split TOI etc. They would be very useful to me... ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) The trick is to get a few players to be diamonds in the rough, if you can, and be productive from less than obviously stellar CVs. That's one of the many things that Steelers did very well last year. Nicholls, Juusola and Simpson had pretty much career years. Not sure McCiag (or anyone) had those 3 on their radar?
