The home debut of Trevor Gallant and the need for maximum points give a focus for this game.
It'll be interesting to see how the new lines work as well.
So there is plenty of potential interest in what could easily have been a "dead" fixture.

Tickets booked - hope they don't take as long to collect as those before the Steelers' game!
Going for a 4-2 Panthers victory with Gallant scoring two and looking to make an impact on the home fans after a long road-trip to Basingstoke the previous night. Pure guesswork, mind!

from NEP: Back-up Geoff Woolhouse did well in the win against Manchester and he could well start the home game against Edinburgh on Sunday to maintain his match sharpness, with the veteran Slovakian playing at Basingstoke.
i'd like to see rasta back, but wither way should be a good game.

Cannot wait to see Gallant. If he's anywhere near as useful as he was with the Storm we have picked a'good un'. 4-1 Panthers

As if Edinburgh don't have enough problems, losing Silverthorn and two others recently, I just noticed this on the Caps forum:-
The thought "they're screwed" comes to mind....

Edinburgh have signed afew imports last i knew. their sponsors didnt like the fact they had so few so threatened to pull the plug, so they are/have got some in the pipeline.
As fot he game easy 5-2 win to panthers, however i expect anther blunder of a goal let in by wooly.

Hoping for a good 'un for my last game as a panther regular, before moving to peterborough next week. But if the caps are struggling, could be a good game to rest a few... Panthers by 4

Wouldnt normally go to this game, but wanting to see Gallant as much as poss, as didnt follow hockey in the super league era.
Id keep wooly in goal to give more rest time for rasto. Even tho he let 4 in tonight. As i dont think edinburgh will be much of a problem. Would like to see panthers win by 5+ well within our capabilities!

Ever the optimist as usual in your posts. so you are ever glowing in your praise after last nights abyssmal abject failure to achieve ellis' objective of four points this weekend then.... against the BOTTOM two clubs in the league? Oh i am so glad we lost and played crap, is that what you want to hear then?

Basingstoke were not and have not been in the bottom two for a while. Take a look at the league table once in a while and you would see this.
I'm not defending Panthers performance last night or against teams in the bottom half of the table this season, but show some respect to other teams.

Look at the league standings also and you will see that the league has bar Coventry pulling away been far from easy going. All teams on any given day have beaten each other which for me is more entertaining with the element of suprise results comforting to know we dont have a chelsea or Man u of the league who spend loads and always win. The league has been close and sure results havent gone our way at times, but a loss at basingstokes home rink is not something to go hell bent at the team for.

Oh i am so glad we lost and played crap, is that what you want to hear then? What twaddle. I echo the above posts repudiating such nonsense. Bison are striving to end the season top of the second half of the table. The way we're going we could well finish bottom of the top half. That puts us next to each other by my reckoning. Bison have been hard to beat all season, and at one stage looked like top 5 material. Let's not forget Edinburgh are 5-1 vs Steelers this year. We are 0-1-6 vs Steelers (or something like that). Tonight's game will not be an easy two points!! There is no such thing as an easy 2 points. Hull (next to bottom) have played at the NIC twice this year. We've yet to even score against them, let alone win. If the Caps play a deep 4 man across the blueline D tonight, we'll struggle.

Now seems to be saying 2-1 with goals from Matus Petricko - assists Clarkie and Carderelli (is he playing or have they got it wrong?) at 21.19 and Rod Stevens got another at 22.10 assisted by Gallant
