I didn’t even get the design either for superhero night. They must’ve thought the muscly design made it look like a superhero outfit but to me it just made them look like gorillas

Some people really have more money than sense. Especially as we lost in the game they were worn and they were absolutely hideous

There are some good players on this roster but not enough to cope with a key loss. Losing Michaud has taken away a lot of creativity and simultaneously broken up the hottest line in the league and if anything Tetlows return hasn’t helped. Shuffling defensive lines because of having 7D is just disrupting partnerships

I thought Pare had one of his best games for us last night. It will be nice to see what he can do with settled line mates. Anderson hasn't been anywhere near as good as he was in the later half of last season. Most of all though, we really missed Michaud last night. Anderson just isn’t a good player. Thought he was the worst of a bad bunch last year and had a little run towards the end of the season. Wasn’t happy when he was re-signed and hasn’t done anything since. No import forward for an arena (or any team really) should produce such low scoring numbers

A little bit gutting that one. That GWG was real frustrating. Hate to see a player allowed to skate all the way in on the goalie like that. Has to be put on his backside. Ryczek at fault for that one. He had a really poor game throughout. Thought we were going to pull off one of the most ill deserved wins ever when we equalised. We were so poor we shouldn’t have been in it. Cardiff managed to better just by being mediocre. If we play like that against a team on form we’d get battered. Played like they’d never met before

That 1st period so sloppy from Panthers. So many sloppy passes and poor stick handling. 2 goals for Cardiff on a plate. They have done anything really apart from accept 2 gifts. One a powerplay with Caruso taking the penalty…Again.

The thing is, we were always in that game. It was very weird in the sense that we conceded 9 but were never out ofthe game. Up until the 9thgoal we were either leading or never more than 1 goal down. In terms of leaving Robinson in, you can understand why the coaches did it. There was a game to be won. As said on the game thread at the time. If Rok was backing up he could've been on and potentially saved the game. Leaving him Nottingham for anything other than injury or ilness was a poor decision if that was the case. They are the decisions teams like Sheffield wouldn't make. Thats the bit we dont know though. If that’s the case I’ve got no sympathy for him. He’s paid to do a job. Stop whining and get on with it. Sounds like quite an unprofessional attitude

Neill has made more of those mistakes in recent matches I have to agree but a lot of the good things we do goes through him too. Until recently I thought he was this years star player but now I can’t look beyond Hugo Roy for that. Caruso and McGurty are steady. We’ve definitely had a lot worse than both of them but they are sloppy sometimes and both take far too many minor penalties. 51 minutes each and I can’t remember many fights in there so they must be mostly minors which is far too many from 2 dmen Overall I agree. As I say I like Neill, and that's the thing with this D. There isn't one of them that are bad, need to be cut players like we almost always have. You cant have 4/5 top pairing Dmen so some will always be better than others. Next season i'd keep Neill, Despres & Ryczek aswell as the 2 Brits. Id then sign 2 more imports to replace Caruso and McGurty if the budget allows. I'd 100% carry that spare D from the start. I really dont think it our Dmen that are the direct cause of our goals conceded. It's very much more about the way we defend as a 5 man unit. Realistically though we won’t be running 7 dmen from the start of the season. Nobody does so it just bringing in one dman in an area we struggle most I think as I our forwards are actually more defensively responsible than previous seasons. I don’t dislike Ryczek but neither do I think he’s great so if you keep Neill and Despres then I think I’d want 2 new import D to freshen it up a bit

Yes I remember that one and that was probably the worst of the lot. Put himself in a compromised position and then made a reckless play to give himself a 5 minute major instead of a 2 minute minor. He had the careless high stick against Cardiff last week and gave away a poor tripping penalty against giants last night. He is just very prone to these kind of penalties whether it comes from poor positional play or lack of discipline I don’t know but it just the team under pressure far too often

Statistically, in the category that matters for a D man for me (net not being scored on), he's pretty much our best this year. He took a fair few penalties early in the season, and still leads the team, comfortably, in "minors taken", but he has nearly half the "minuses" Carl Neill does. The whole D is a bit iffy this season, to be fair, I don't think he's the worst culprit in that area by a long way. I'm a big believer that we often make our minds up on players quite early and then we see things in line with that opinion. Carl Neil plays big minutes and looks smooth. I like him, but he makes way more mistakes in and around his own goal than anybody else. He's cost us quite a few of late with suicide passes around the net. Got away with a few more too. Caruso looks like he's skating through treacle, however he makes some very classy plays. This isn't me firing shots at others for this, im just as guilty as anybody. Michund up until this unavoidable streak was one of the first on my no return list, but his stats were ok even before then. The thing is, early on I noticed his appauling offensive zone turnovers allowing the oppossision to transition down the other end for goals. So I now notice that all the time. Even whilst he's been so hot. His form and stats are pretty umdeniable it this point and he's forced me to change my mind. Neill has made more of those mistakes in recent matches I have to agree but a lot of the good things we do goes through him too. Was shocked, wasn’t expecting that. So many of them stood up and performed, Roy is a great hockey player, the first goal was a bullet. Really liked Lemay, Lunsjö, Neilson, Luciani, Kelsall and Anderson. Caruso and McGurty frustrate the living daylights out of me. Tetlow did good considering how long he’s been out. Some of those calls by the officials were awful. Keep playing like that please. Agree about Caruso and McGurty. They both give away so many sloppy penalties it puts us on the back foot way too often

Superb performance. They needed to deliver at last night and they did just that.
Roy and Nieminen are exceptional. Luciani and Lunsjo were very good together. Lemay scored bullet. Despres starting to show his class again and Rok had his best performance for some time and deserved his MoM

To be fair the the standard of Brits throughout the league has gone through the floor. If look at the last GB squad it’s full of the old timers that have been around 10-15 years, dual nats that don’t qualify as Brits in EIHL and after that a smattering of low level newer lads, and even they are just Canadians whose Dads came and stayed over here when they played (Neilson, Shudra, Whistle). Apart from Liam Kirk nobody has come through.

More fool anyone for watching TikTok. Facebook, X and tiktok. Unless you leave in a bubble I trust you must of read the same nonsense. Sadly its not just 1 or 2 I wouldn’t know because I don’t waste my time with any of them. I’m only on X to get Panthers commentary updates for away games, but don’t all fanbases have fans like these? Do they just stand out for us as we’re at the bottom? I don’t think they are in the majority. Far from it I imagine

I would be happy to retain perhaps up to 9 or 10. Considering i'd expect 2 import netminders and therefor at least 16 imports to start the season that probably feels about right. Brits as always need to be determained first to then form the team set up. Id keep 3 or 4 of the import D. 6 or 7 of the import forwards now. 2 new netminders. For me I’d keep:- Roy Nieminen Michaud Lunsjo Henbrant Neill 50/50 on Lemay, Ryczek, Despres. Caruso I’d imagine will retire after completing uni course. Upgrade on goalies, Welsh, Anderson, Luciani, McGurty and Pare

The high stick on Davies didnt draw blood as I sit front row of block 13 and there was no blood when he got up. A battling performance and we deserved the win, going 2 goals down and cardiff looking strong; but we got stronger and fought back and persevered. Agree about the officiating, does sewell dislike Nottingham? Did a player bend down and pat him on the head like a child previously? Not calling a hit to the head, moving his skate to deflect the puck towards a cardiff player. The l4eague needs to look at the standard and raise it. How do you let in 5 and 4 goals respectively and get MoM? Cardiff has a number of players more deserving of that accolade and so did Panthers. Perhaps it should be renamed 'player who the sponsors want a picture with award' It did draw blood. Not much but he had a cut on the side his nose near the corner of his eye

It was an odd one the goal. Looked perfectly fine in real time, but the Freddie Mercury impersonator waved it off. He was then beset by the linesmen and other ref, presumably asking what the hell he was doing. Afterwards, Russell deciding to put them down a man for nearly half the remaining time was very kind. Hilariously stupid. Shame we can't play Cardiff every week, not just because we seem to always win, but always exciting games! I really don’t get why Russell flipped. It was clear as day on the screens that there was nothing wrong with the goal. Toys got launched into orbit from his pram on that one

This is a huge game. Based on how we usually do against Belfast I think i'd happily take the 2 points in this one and 0 on Sunday if it were on offer now. I wouldn’t. The group looks like it’s peaking in confidence right now and I think we’re capable of winning both

It'd be nice to get Henbrant back at the races, he's only had 1+2 in his last 10 games, and is -6 in that span, having been 7+10 and +6 in his first 25. (+11 after 13 games) I know you can't have everyone scoring all the time, but he had a superb start to the year and is tailing off just now. I think Henbrant is currently struggling not being on a properly settled line. Lunsjo had the same problem but now he’s found chemistry on a settled line with Michaud and Neilson he’s flying. One big problem this team currently has is it’s pretty much a 2 line 2 team plus a mish-mash of whoever is left partly due to injuries which is where Henbrant now finds himself.

Is there an actual rumour about them Levin is the leagues top scorer by some way but hasn't played the last 2 games. From what I can see Welsh hasn't played for a month though. I think the fact both are rumoured to be leaving together strengthens a rumour of a return here. Not necessarily. In the link to the Levin/Welsh rumour on EP according to the rough google translate of the article they have refused to play as they haven’t been paid by the club and it says about Levin being kicked out of his hotel and Welsh “mysteriously disappeared” in mid-January
