Tough game but hopefully after some rest and hopefully some players back, we can get a result.

Cardiff are flying at the minute, 12 league wins in a row, this is going to be a difficult match.
One thing I will say, if anybody is in contention to play, then let them. Even if they can only contribute a handful of minutes then it’s worth it to take some load off. We’re in the middle of a busy schedule and the games are counting down now

Game 1 of the final third of the season. Surely the usual 2 points at home vs the Devils?

Agreed, it was tongue firmly in cheek. 12 game winning streak, scored 59, conceded 31, whilst SOGs have been pretty even. Trevor Cox has scored a point in 11 of those 12 games. Wall batting at 92.61%, Bowns at 92.56% the last 12 games (6 each). They're in good nick.

They often turn up in good nick and leave with their usual number of points.
4-2 Panthers.

I got called in to have blood taken and didn't quite finish my post to show that. Was going to also say something along the lines of 2 points nailed on for us. 😂

It would be good to have some more players back. As mentioned above, there are lot's of games coming thick and fast, playing short benched will soon catch up. You could see it happening on Sunday after such a big effort Saturday.

You could see it happening on Sunday after such a big effort Saturday. If they are fit though. The nightmare would be having a player back a week or two too early, and aggravating the injury and putting them out for the season. I don't especially need to know what's actually up with injured players, the club and the player are the only ones who need to know. When they're ready, they can come back. Other opinions on that are available, though, it seems.

In 9 seasons of playing you guys at yours in the league, we have 8 wins. It’s been the toughest place for us to win in many years.

Lemay returns. Interesting to see where he slots in.
Id go.
Lemay -Pare-Henbrant.
Kelsall-Anderson-Double Shift

I'd have to agree on that 2nd line. Pare's face off technique seems to be quite effective, very little movement and just a quick, decisive attempt at the puck (I'm probably not explaining that very well). Plus, Anderson hasn't really delivered to the level he was in the latter half of last season.

That’s some positive news with regards to Lemay. Surely we should give McKenzie a chance on the 4th line today so we can actually run 4 lines?

Goes in on line 2 with Pare dropping down. I'd still expect to see McKenzie get little ice time and somebody else double shifting. I dont really know enough of Zaine to be beating a drum in support. All I can say is that the evidence appears to point at him not being good enough for the EIHL at the point in time. He already left one NIHL team due to lack of ice time. Clearly not viewed as a key piece at that level. Our coaches also dont appear to see enough to even give him regular shifts even on the 4th line. I think he'll just have to be happy with getting the token minutes when a game is won/lost and experience being around an elite side. I'd imagine the coaching group have been honest with him and he knows what he's going to get. I've found all the clamour for him to see more ice time on social media a bit baffling to be honest. I don't think many have really see him play much.

It'd be nice to get Henbrant back at the races, he's only had 1+2 in his last 10 games, and is -6 in that span, having been 7+10 and +6 in his first 25. (+11 after 13 games) I know you can't have everyone scoring all the time, but he had a superb start to the year and is tailing off just now.

Not sure how smart it is having your 2 worst +/- players on the same line. 16 and 17 are -38 betweeen them so far, Henbrant is even for the year. That could spell disaster, much like when Brady and Hammond were played together last season. You watch, they'll knock goals in for fun...

Surely we should give McKenzie a chance on the 4th line today so we can actually run 4 lines? the problem with a new and inexperienced Brit is that they are ok 'going forward' when they only have to shovel the puck into a corner and chase, but in their own zone they can be aa liability, head forever on a swivel looking for where to be. You can see Logan was taught back home, as soon as he enters his own zone he's either in a zone or picking up a man. Hopkins was good as well just not strong enough.

I think Henbrant is currently struggling not being on a properly settled line. Lunsjo had the same problem but now he’s found chemistry on a settled line with Michaud and Neilson he’s flying. One big problem this team currently has is it’s pretty much a 2 line 2 team plus a mish-mash of whoever is left partly due to injuries which is where Henbrant now finds himself.

A new goalie(well 2) has to be top of the shopping list in the summer. You cannot give away freebies every few games, especially agaisnt the best teams.
