Who? Anyway surely Steelers must be over the limit it seems like they've signed 32 players now lol With maths like that I'd like to play poker with you. Steelers have signed 20 non-UK players this season now. 17 skaters, 3 netminders. 2 have left (Ostlund and Raska) so they have 18 "imports" signed currently, including Ackered. I believe at least 2 are currently injured. That is the limit, I think, unless they get some "loan players" in.

By whom? I wouldn't say so. Known quantities have a value at this stage of the season. See also Vallerand. Let's not forget, both players we're discussing here are on the rebound from injury, so neither is a "premium" signing, IMHO. Lahtinen wants a chance to prove himself in a better league than the AlpsHL. Good lad, bring it on. Let' see what you got. Ackered could be a masterstroke, I think, but is coming off a relatively poor season so far. He's only played an average of around 10 minutes per game (232 mins in 21 games) so far? Masterstroke? They've signed Calle Ackerad not Cale Makar! Time will tell. Your over the hill guy is a point a game so far, better than all the Panthers.

Probably because there isn't much to say about him. Nowadays a typical Panthers signing. What is a typical panthers signing? I can guarantee if Panthers signed Ackerad it would be classed as a Lazy signing .. By whom? I wouldn't say so. Known quantities have a value at this stage of the season. See also Vallerand. More discussion about Sheffield’s signing than our own this week Probably because there isn't much to say about him. Nowadays a typical Panthers signing. He’s a signing. Which makes him relatively atypical in Pantherland. I’m looking forward to seeing him play. Hope he has a bit of speed about him.

Let's hope he's gone a bit crap in his time away from the league. His stats this year have taken somewhat of a dive. Bet he’s still handy though.

You’d surely assume some kind of injury? Edit - He’s played all games since 7 January. Looks like none before then?

Spik has them on his list. 😂😂😂. A 2-6 loss to Cologne in 2006. Cologne are Kölner Haie Haie = Sharks.

You have to say, not a word wasted. You could have omitted the 'he' and the sentence would still have made sense. But lots of things was crap. 😂

I think we played a touring Ukraine team mid season Bob. Not the National Team. They were surprised with the support they got in Nottingham as the local Ukraine community turned out to support them. I also seem to recall us playing the Japanese National team mid season in the old barn. Your memory is better than mine!

I was thinking about this a while back.
Is there a list anywhere of who Panthers have played, at home, in any "non competitive" games (usually, but not always) pre-season, that were non UK clubs? Maybe a rare visitor to these shores?
Not so much Team Canada (though that kind of thing), but Don Mills Comets kind of idea. (Although I think we used to play DMC slightly before my time, which started when Todd Bidner was a Panther) I can remember, at the old place Team Romania Lada Togliatti (at least once) ?Sokol Kiev Ukraine national team? Jukerit from Finland (who I think are the team Liam Kirk is currently at) possibly the junior team, as I seem to recall most of them wore cages Various Manitoba Bison games There are doubtless a few more.
Surely somewhere in there is the name of someone who has gone onto bigger and better things in hockey, but turned out one night on tour in the UK at a freezing damp barn in the centre of Nottingham, played a few shifts on the third line, then went to hug a radiator?

Looking at the goals from the game, we gave Cardiff a hand by giving up 2 on 0s and breakaways, and a bad turnover for the first. They gave us a hand with Bowns not having a good night either. One of those games where anything could have happened, and probably did. Still, if you dont shoot, you don't score. Agreed, Bowns will want at least 2 back. But, you ride your luck... 2 points in Cardiff is a rare and unexpected gift.

I don’t think his defensive ability was up to much last season, I think his puck carrying and his point production on the powerplay blinded a lot of people Most definitely! I also only think he ran hot production wise at the end of the season (I could be Mis-remembering that though) 11 points in the last 13 games, when the season long average was 0.5 PPG means that last thought has more than a grain of truth. However, he also had 11 in the last 20. 11 and 16 points in each half season respectively.

It baffles me that people so easily forget that Brassard was the best of the Panthers full time D last season and most (if not all) commentators reacted positively to his re-signing. Quite what's happened to him this season is what has baffled me, he's been a shadow of last season's player. Maybe he just needs a blinking haircut? I don’t think his defensive ability was up to much last season, I think his puck carrying and his point production on the powerplay blinded a lot of people He was 4th top point scorer on the PP, but didn't score a PP goal all season. Best D man, yes, but I expect a few expected a lot more off Matheson than 1+4 all season. His points were scored prettyevenly, though he had a huge barren patch between games 35-41 inclusive, and a pretty slow start. Attachments:

Be ironic if Forest wore climate change armbands after they flew to Blackpool for a game Panthers on the boat to Belfast 😂😂😂 Does any team fly to Belfast these days? Cardiff maybe?

I would. But Blacky may have burnt that bridge. What's he got to do with Black? Wearing a pride jersey shouldn't be part of his contract.. surely that's a personal choice ? I'd be astonished if he'd been released for "not wearing a Pride jersey". I wouldn't expect that to be "contractual". And it appears it's his contract that's been breached, by him. Could be internal discipline, game day issues, social media policy, all sorts.

“Mike Hammond capitalised on a blocked Marcus Crawford dump-in to beat Bowns on the breakaway with just under 12 minutes to play, a goal which put the Panthers back ahead on their second shorthanded goal of the night.
Marcus Crawford's blocked dump-in allowed Mike Hammond to skate through and beat Bowns on the breakaway to put the Panthers 4-3 ahead with just under 12 minutes to play on a second shorthanded goal for the visitors. “
A goal so good they reported it twice.

I notice I can’t reply to that email. What might be the best contact email I should write to them?. Sure I’ve not been to any planet ice rinks for years. Surely after so long I should be deleted from the system? dataprotect@imp-uk.co.uk Is the one they've asked you to use and which I emailed with no reply as yet, which looks like the people who do their ticketing/event management previously known as Ice Media Productions Ltd can't find them on companies house or Data Protection Register. A quick search of the Data Protection Register seems to show each rink as a separate listing without a holding company. You'd think/I'd say they should have some process to purge old client data, evidently not. Under GDPR, personal data should only be kept as long as needed to be. However, if you have an account with the third party (buying tickets etc) the data will probably be kept as long as the account is "active". And that's where the grey area comes in, I think. Would you be annoyed if you'd not bought a ticket from a rink for 2 seasons, and they said you needed to reregister all over again, as they have deleted your data due to inactivity? Maybe you would, but this kind of thing is what GDPR is getting at. You shouldn't just keep personal data forever, in any structured format.

It baffles me that this guy has seen through 5 coaching regimes so far (Wallace, Matheson/Lee, Dave Whistle, GG & now Corey/Strachan) It baffles me that people so easily forget that Brassard was the best of the Panthers full time D last season and most (if not all) commentators reacted positively to his re-signing. Just remind me, at 10.00 did the teams play 2 minutes at 4 on 4, or carry on 5 on 5? It was 4 on 4. Ta
