Whatever the reasons he's gone, we've known for a long time that he was going so I expect us to have a replacement lined up.

That would be fine as long as we sign a Brit centre to replace Myers. Without one line 3 or 4 would be a mess. Also without one we'd only have 12 forwards which would make it difficult to play 4 lines on a regular basis. Would you hypothetically accept Betteridge filling Myers boots (which CN hinted at) and bringing up another youngster* to fill that 13th forward? I could probably live with that. *I don't know who, I would have said Connor Glossop but he's gone to Peterborough. Well I'd say that 13 forwards is better than 12 but who would centre the 3rd and 4th lines. Logan one of them but I'm not sure would could do the other one. Possibly Clarke I suppose. He's taken quite a few face offs over the years.

I want a play making winger as our lat signing but i would take kolnik. Hes a proven player and is good for a lot of goals. That would probably make our top lines. Kolnik-Moran-Schultz Carter-Lawrence-Brown Id take that if we still have 3 studs to sign on d. That would be fine as long as we sign a Brit centre to replace Myers. Without one line 3 or 4 would be a mess. Also without one we'd only have 12 forwards which would make it difficult to play 4 lines on a regular basis.

No reason we shouldn't be able to attract at least some of those listed. Should be plenty left in the budget....

Good news, both signings make sense.
1 more Brit needed for 13,7,2.

So if it's 1 more import forward and 3 import D we look potentially 1 forward shy. A British Centre would be good (Such a shame that Myers has left). Either Matthew or Ben Davies would be good.
Without a British Centre coming in the lines would look a bit unbalanced to me with some square pegs in round holes.
If we could find a 1st Line Import left wing and a British Centre we could line up something like this.....
IMPORT MORAN SCHULTZ
CARTER LAWRENCE BROWN
LACHO DAVIES CLARKE
FARMER McMILLAN JANSSEN
BETTERIDGE
IMPORT DIMMEN
IMPORT WAUGH
IMPORT LEE
OAKFORD
WIIKMAN
BACK UP
That would give you people playing in their normal positions. You could look at swapping the 3rd and 4th line Centres in you needed a bit more size on the Lacho, Clarke line.
Having Betteridge and Oakford as 13th and 7th would give you the in game depth and an element of injury cover.

If that's what Corey did mean then we can only hope it's right. But why would you talk in riddles ? If that is our forward lines complete now though,we look seriously short of goals and top end quality. Another season of league mediocrity looming me thinks ! You might as well not bother going then if you can predict that. I know Iginla is not everyone's cup of tea but that's a strange comment and even stranger coming from a Mod. It seems to me that this forum is moving towards a place where negative comments and views are not welcome and the posters making them are ridiculed and shouted down.

I think the coach is pretty decent to be honest. Maybe a bit arrogant but his record in finals is outstanding.
The whole ethos of the club seems to be the main problem to me (especially when looking at our horrific league performances).
The Brit situation this summer so far is bordering on farcical.

I like quick but that guy look looks very good! Question is, is he too good for us? Nope, Looks a good player on paper but certainly wouldn't be the best signing ever for the EIHL.

Yes. Im sorry but these guys are a step above our league. Garrett in particular is scoring at rate of twice Jeff Szwez. He'd be like signing trevor Gallant for a whole season. These 2 will be looking at NLA/ NLB / AHL teams. Any team that signed these 2 would be expected to win the league. Would be amazing but no not at the moment we're not at that level in this country yet. There have been plenty of players to the EIHL over the last 5 years or so with CV's equal to or better than these guys.

With the Freezers' situation, it leaves the Festerling brothers available, Brett a Left shot stay-at-home D man with valuable AHL and some NHL experience and Garrett who looks like a playmaker kind of forward and not far off a PPG in DEL last season, they fill two key roles I think we need. However, they both hold German passports which makes it unlikely for them to head out way as they'll probably stick in the DEL and are maybe still too good for us. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11628www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=14082They are too good for our league. Nope.

If we're going to be able to line up 13,7,2 then we need at least 1 more Brit of a reasonable standard.

It's his picture on the Season Ticket application form as well. I'm expecting Clarke, Oakford and Green to be back but we would still appear to be 1 player short of 13,7,2.

He was left out for around 20 games at Bakersfield and asked for a transfer as he was not playing. He was not happy being a healthy scratch. Out of the next 40 odd games for Johnstown he played 22 out and missed virtually all the rest through injury. So he was a healthy scratch on numerous occasions in the ECHL.

Really good pre injury and stood up big at the business end of the season.
Still no K Wall though.
If he helps win us the league I'll stop saying that, promise.

Tough one....
I'd usually say give me the league title every time.
I do wonder who had the better season this time though. I was with thousands of other Panthers fans in Sheffield when Mosey's bullet shot finally broke the Cardiff Devils resistance and won us the Challenge Cup in sudden death OT. What a feeling! Lovely to watch the cup being presented to the players with a beer in hand and with good friends.
I was also with thousands of Panthers fans in Nottingham when we convincingly won both the games. What a feeling when Quick's effort made its way past Stewart to finally end the Coventey Blaze resistance. Fantastic to see the players presented with the trophy with a beer in hand and with good friends. Even better to party the night away with Hockey friends from various clubs.
The warm glow of winning the final game of the season does send you off into the summer with a very nice feeling.
Sheffield lost 18 league games and won the trophy on the final day away at Fife. They didn't present the trophy to their fans and less than a week later were the 1st ever EIHL top seed to fail to make the POFW.
Like I said, Usually the league but this season I'm not so sure.
Tough one but certainly a great and memorable end to the season for us Panthers fans.
