I wasn't talking about anyone else on the site and I haven't called the signing average or below average. Good try on the back track and avoidance tactics but it was still a ridiculous comment. You called it 'Meh' and that is an indication of neither excitement or anger, practically maiking it another term for Average. I'm not backtracking at all. That was my thinking behind my statement, there's always some form of disappointment with every signing we make and it's incredibly frustrating, some things are more than valid points but people tend to be so narrowminded that they fail to look past a couple of negatives to see a whole lot more positives, happened with Carter and Brown, and now Nikiforuk. So because I'm not bouncing with excitement I should be "watching another sport". Nah, not having it, sorry.

I'm sorry but I don't think it's for you to be telling other people how to feel or even more so that they shouldn't be watching the sport. I'm sure this lad will be a good player, he has a quality cv after all but it's up to me whether or not I'm disappointed with this signing and the roster. It's certainly not up to you to tell me how I should feel or what I should be doing. Try telling that to the majority of people on the site who constantly moan about stuff, spreading their excessively negative ideology. Quite fed up of people calling signings average or below average, not what we need, could do better etc.. which is just as bad as what i've said, it kills the excitement of the season having people dismiss the signings and team before doing any actual research on them or even giving them a chance. It's almost as if excitement only comes to some people on here if they've got NHL to their name, and a change of underwear is probably suitable for those people upon signing players with said experience. It was more of a suggestion than a demand anyway. I wasn't talking about anyone else on the site and I haven't called the signing average or below average. Good try on the back track and avoidance tactics but it was still a ridiculous comment.

What a ridiculous comment. You'd only be disappointed if your expectations are excessively high or you (not you in particular) don't quite grasp the quality of Nikiforuk. I'm sorry but I don't think it's for you to be telling other people how to feel or even more so that they shouldn't be watching the sport. So we've been patient all off season, waited, waited and waited some more for the supposed better players becoming available have we ? And then just as predicted we got errr.....average ! Average? What are you basing that on? I'm assuming that you have watched him play live and have analysed his game to come to a conclusion on how effective he will be in the EIHL? Or is it because you went on elite prospects, didn't see any AHL games and got hideously beside yourself with excitement because you have provided yourself with an opportunity to whinge? No one has any real idea how any of these players will perform in the EIHL, pack in your endless negativity because I'm sure I'm not the only one that is absolutely sick of it! Argh bless, a proper meltdown.

Just spotted this guy has been released from Sweden, nothing to it just a bit of observation as I spotted his links with Sertich and Waugh when at Zagreb and is a LW. Wouldn't be the best Kolnik replacement but you never know what he could do in this league. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=4126Would be a good player in the EIHL.

So, A, how do the 4 lines actually look/ work. B, don't you need 13 forwards to have a realistic chance of playing 4 lines on a regular basis? I'll go with Import Moran Schultz Carter Lawrence Brown Lacho Macmillan Clarke Farmer Betteridge Janssen I do agree with you that another Brit centre would have been pleasing but having Lindhagen helps and shaping Betteridge into a centre I see as a good thing Those forward lines look much more sensible to me than PantherB's. Would love a 13th forward though as without one rolling 4 lines just won't happen on a regular basis.

Lines are a luxury for other teams. We have spaghetti. Sometimes, In the slam year you knew the team and lines would be the same week in week out so he can do it...

If i was coach, i'd be looking at; Carter - Moran - Kolnik/replacement Brown - Lawrence - Schultz Clarke - MacMillan - Janssen Farmer - Lachowicz - Betteridge Perhaps move Famer/Clarke/Brown     ?    - Waugh Dimmen - Sertich Lee - Lindhagen Oakford Lindhagen will play a key role in being able to alternate between D and F, if a F gets tired then he can slot in whilst Oakford covers his shifts on D, he's more than capable. So we'll unofficially have 13 forwards. Thanks for the reply but that looks pretty horrific for several reasons.

In what world are Lachowicz and Betteridge centres? Corey has said both would be changing roles/position, they're both Wingers so i'd assume both or one will play as a Center. Both should be 4th Liners so it doesn't really matter where they play, Betteridge mainly, with his checking role. So, A, how do the 4 lines actually look/ work. In what world are Lachowicz and Betteridge centres? we need one left winger (Kolnik) and currently we have Moran, Lawrence and Macmillan who are out and out Centremen, my guess is Betteridge will be fourth line centre and Corey will guide him down that route Or just sign a Brit centre and actually have a realistic chance of playing 4 lines on a regular basis.

I do hope he is off to Belfast ! But he's played with quite a few Panthers, including Sertich,Macdonald and Kowalski. Worryingly...... i can see him being our last forward signing though !! So do i, i'd much rather have Kolnik or even give it another couple weeks to find someone else. He played under Thommo at Aalborg a couple years ago too which could suggest a potential move to Blaze, need another natural Center or two, as do Belfast. Couple Giants players follow him on Twitter and the Embassy of Ireland recently started following him, could suggest Belfast but who knows! In what world are Lachowicz and Betteridge centres?

We're playing the waiting game on releasing names, I wouldnt be surprised at all to hear Kolnik has been signed for weeks, I doubt he would have left it this late without notifying the club & he really loved it here last year. On a separate note what do people think of Matthew Davies who has not been re-signed by the Storm? last years Captain I beleive? Seems strange when there is such a shortage of British talent and at the moment it looks like the Storm only have 2 Brits signed, is this someone that Panthers would look at, is he good enough? as I know very little about the guy apart from seeing him at Hull and thinking his was a fiesty little so and so..lol We certainly need a Brit centre so i'd be happy with him. Better PPG over his EIHL career than Lachowicz. If the last 3 were Lepine, Davies and Kolnik i'd be pretty happy with that.

Looks like an import to me. He's classed as a Brit according to simmsy. Son of Dave whistle Fair enough, I'm not sure how he would be though. Born and trained in Canada....

The EIHL's players of the season for last year have a ton of NHL and AHL games under their belts. Instead of your clever little snide comments why don't you actually tell us what you think about this years team?

Belfast reported to have offered a contract to Jackson Whistle. Would be a very interesting signing! Not sure if classed as Brit or import but I can imagine he'd only come here to start... www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=101576Looks like an import to me.

I like Betteridge but for me he needs to be the 13th forward this season, at least to start with. He would still get regular ice time and hopefully put pressure on the others like Lacho.

If we don't sign one of the available Brit centre's how are we going to be able to play 4 lines?

I'm not sure about Davies to be honest not getting why we are going for him allegedly. On paper if we sign him all our signings would be either meh signings or wait and see signings. With the other teams signing players with more proven quality it's a little concerning to say the least. Don't get me wrong I think a line with lawrence Carter and brown could work very nicely, but if they don't play as well as its being hinted that's a lot of pressure. Surely lawrence should have a storming season, he has two of his best mates on the line with him, they have been signed with him in mind. I'm not massively excited by Davies and it would be a downgrade on Myers more than likely but we do need 1 more capable Brit.

The Davies signing is speculation, for me I would sooner have a good import center than over paid Brit that averages 30pts a season. Would love to see last season faceoff stats, last season seeing Lacko and 1 or 2 others trying to win faceoff was a joke!!!!!!!! It's MacMillan not McMillan Who would be your 1st line left wing? Edit. I couldn't give a monkey's if I got his name wrong. Everyone knew who I meant.

Panther's are waiting for Kolik but he's not center/faceoff player, with only Brad Moran a out and out center, surely they must be looking for a another one, or are they just going light in that department. You'd guess the 4 centres will be Moran, Lawrence, McMillan and Davies.

I quite liked it when we scored a PP goal on Thommo's abuse penalty.
