He never played pro again, so they must’ve done a heck of a job. I remember a mate of mine ended up in the Panthers box at Play off weekend and Jason Williams was asked if he was coming back next year. Can’t remember the the exact reply but suffice to say it was thoroughly unprintable. Lol 🤣🤣 I've heard from a few sources that he wasn't very complimentary about Corey, I wonder why they didn't get on?

We'll be playing the Lions next. We might have a slight chance against them

Pidge, im sure that many of us would like Black to go. But, what is the reality? Is there a hockey mad millionaire out there that will ride in on his white horse and serve this this fanbase what it truly desires? Is there 'eckers like!! Cardiff were the luckiest club in this country when they landed their owners. What is the best that we can hope for?

Historically Panthers were a community team. Whole families would go for years on end. And we werent expected to win all the time. In the ISL days we were small fry compared to the cheque book teams that gutted the sport in this country. Then the arena came along and the ISL colapsed. Suddenly Panthers were on a level playing field, however you still had the same crowd. Loyal, game knowledgable fans who had been there for years. It was a slow start for the arena era. We didnt start to really see Panthers compete for a few years. But all the while more and more 'come for the occasion' fans started coming. And sadly the community feel of the club slipped away. As such slowly but surely the club has swapped old time, knowledgeable fans for people who dont really understand the game but like to go for the match night experience. I want to point out that theres nothing wrong with those fans. Everyone can spend thier money thier own way. But there is a side effect of these sorts of crowds is that they dont demand high quality product. Good cup runs will satisfy these people. Whereas older fans like myself see it as 'i went though the hard times where there was no hope, now i want the good times where we should be winning'. Its immensely frustrating watching Panthers blow thier chance year after year even though we're not small fry anymore. Personally as someone who understands the game better than the average fan what really gets me is the garbage on ice product of the last few years. We're boring. Dump and bloody chase. No! Just no! We can afford quality players who can play the puck get them. We're not a shoe string team that cant afford class. Sign players who can pass a puck and create space with movment. But the average fan cant tell the difference. Our powerplay is frankly ugly. You compare our club to steelers. A club born on instant success. Their fans only know one thing so is it any wonder they demand as much. Since Panthers have never truley dominated British hockey, its no wonder our fans dont expect us to. And no cup runs dont count. Its about being the team to beat week in week out. Season in season out. This quote, from almost 4 years ago on this thread, still stands true today. I fear nothing will ever change. All I've ever wanted is for our club to love us (fans) as much as we love it

Fought hard, mistakes cost us. Lack of quality. That sentence sums the season up nicely. The players in my opinion are largely blameless, they are performing to their full potential. The problem is, that potential is below what is required. This. Exactly this. Do you think this fanbase will ever wake up to how much they are being short changed?

Anyone that wants to go and sit in an indoor arena with nearly 7000 people next week needs to give their head a wobble

There seem to be multiple posts about this across a few threads so I thought of starting this just to bring it all together. Mods, feel free to delete if you want to keep it as it is though.
My thoughts, the season is screwed. Clubs simply cannot survive without paying crowds.

Wow. I've just listened to Doucet's interview on BBC Nottingham Sport. We've played 14 league games, its nearly Christmas and we've got another 40 league games to play!!!

Wasn't there recently a "skate with the Panthers" event? How much do you wanna bet players got infected by fans? That'll be why it's short and sweet.

Twas the first game really Spik. If we'd have won the shootout vs Søndejyske them we would have been champions I was there.. if only Hansen had scored that breakaway in OT on the Friday.. Yeah, I was there too Pidge. We were the better team by far. Dominated it, the only reason we didn't win handsomely is because the refs didn't like our style of play and kept us killing penalties most of the night

I'd be embarrassed. After winning their first 2 games all they had to do was avoid losing by 3, then they go and lose 4-0. Aalborg are really rubbing their noses in it now Which reminds me of when we nearly won it a second time in theb 19-20 season, finishing second overall....argghhh The last game took it away from us. Twas the first game really Spik. If we'd have won the shootout vs Sønderjyske then we would have been champions

If Aalborg win, the three teams will be tied on 6 points, it then goes to goal difference between the three of them. Sheffield will lose out then. Pirates just need to win now, goals don't matter in their game In regulation Yes, in regulation

If my calculations are correct, for Sheffield to get knocked out from the position they're in, Gomel need to beat them by three clear goals and Aalborg just need to win by any margin

I wonder how many fans from Sheffield will travel to Denmark? Strange times we're in at the minute and I'm not so sure if it was us playing this weekend that we'd take as many as we normally do into Europe.

Great result that, maybe this Swiss league isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. What’s that now Bern,Davos and Lausanne all been beaten by EIHL teams in the CHL. I think we need to start bigging up the EIHL, the Swiss league IS all its cracked up to be, we're just getting better. The next hurdle now is to beat a Swedish team. It might not be for a while, but, ten years ago could you imagine a team from here winning the Continental Cup or even thinking about competing at this level

That's a stunning result, really really pleased for them. I watched most of it and they thoroughly deserved it. Well done Cardiff

I'm going to stick up for Panthers here. We know, and they know that Saturday games are the most lucrative, ill bet they wanted as many games as possible on a Saturday. The arena have a business to run too, money to claw back, we were never going to get priority over gigs
