Firstly, I was well impressed with Wembley Stadium.
I thought Hull battled well and it was only fatigue towards the end that prevented them springing a nassive shock. Very few fans expected anything other than a big Saints win. All the Hull KR fans we spoke said the same thing....."you have got to beat them today, it will be unbearable if they win it" We were surprised that a lot of Castleford, Wakefield and even Leeds fans were shouting for Saints.
Also thought that referee Steve Ganson had a poor game, he, along with his touch judges, missed a lot of forward passing as well as some offside and knock on decisions.
In the end, we proved too strong and collected our first trophy of the season. A point against Wigan on Friday will secure the League Leaders Shield and a home semi-final in the play-offs. This could be a tense final weekend!!

Aye it should be a cracker but can the Rhinos stop the Saints steaming train at the moment? Shouldn't matter to who loses anyway, its just a dress rehersal for the Grand Final. These two teams are head and shoulders above the rest.

Won't post too much in case Grumpy sees this before he gets to Sky+. I am a bit happy tonight!!! Perhaps I will be wearing red and white tomorrow under the black and gold. Hope the rest of the weekend goes this well for my other teams! What a great game tonight though, was a bit worried in the first 10 minutes

Watched the game when I got in from work on Friday night. Saints first try was awesome and set the tone for the game, they never looked back and after the try by Meli the game was all but over.
Saturday morning came and I watched the first try again and again then booked tickets for Old Trafford, Oct 4th. After the Saturday game when Wigan destroyed Catalans in their own backyard you have to wonder whether this season could see the first Saints-Wigan Grand Final since 2000.
Only two teams have beaten Leeds at Headingley this season, Saints and Wigan. Only two teams have won twice against Leeds this season, same two. It all makes the final two weekends of Superleague XIII very interesting.

I can't see Rhinos playing that bad 2 games running.
Man of steel, it should be Graham, but remember Roby won it last season so anyone could get it?

I didn't see the Leeds-Wigan game but I gather it was rough at the start of the game, then the Rhinos took charge. Shame it couldn't have been Wigan in the final, but I suppose it is only right that the top two in the league standings play for the championship. I feel it will be a tense afternoon and evening at Old Trafford next Saturday but hey-ho.....my tickets arrived this morning!! Oh when the Saints.... go marching in....

I didn't see the Leeds-Wigan game I did - and it was a cracker. Rhinos probably deserved it, but a couple of handling errors cost Wigan. There was a brawl involving about 20 players which led to Senior and Calderwood being sin-binned. Calderwood was outstanding in defence - he saved no fewer than 5 tries himself. Rhino's worry will be that Smith and Diskin were put on report, although I wouldn't expect them to miss the final. I can't see Saints making the same mistake as last year in the Grand Final though, and would take them to win.

Well, it was hardly a surprise. Graham has been tremendous this season. His strength when carrying the ball has been second to none. His runs at pace are so powerful that even Leeds had to have 4 men to bring him to a standstill, even then they couldn't complete the tackle and he made the offload. So far James has carried the ball for 3935 metres this season. Let's hope for more of the same at Old Trafford on Saturday evening. I have a feeling he will need to be on form. The weather forecast for heavy showers may make it tricky for Saints to play their normal fast-paced passing game. I am really looking forward to this game and I am not the only one. A bloke I work with supports Man U and St. Helens rugby, both are on tv on saturday (Utd @ Blackburn on Setanta) and he will watch Saints on sky. My tickets arrived last week......I can hardly wait!!!

Nothing to say really just gutted. Leeds deserved it our 'key men' never turned up and yours did. Knew it would be a close game soon as the rain came, but thats no excuse..

I will agree with all of that ....apart from being gutted. Leeds were the better team, they made less errors and forced our players into errors. We started to panic and rush things once Leeds had got that 8 point margin. Especially as Saints don't play well in the rain I will say the same as last year.......the week off is no good when you have to play a top team like the Rhinos. One last thing.... If I never hear "Marching Out Together" again, it will be too soon!!!!
