The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

There's a lot of difference. For starter you have to score tries to win games in League.
I don't see the teams merging too, AlfG. If I were Superleague I'd simply dump them to the kerb until they do. there's going to be 14 teams and you can lockdown:
Wigan, StH, Leeds, Bradford, Quins, CAT, Warrington and Hull. I'd be surprised if Celtic aren't one too and there has to be a good shout for Toulose.
So you're left with 4 spots. There really should be Yorkshire and Cumbrian mergers filling two of them and they should have stayed in Gateshead. A team in Eire is also being discussed and I imagine they'd like a Midlands team within 10 years.
Be interesting to see whop the 14 are for 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Apart from the rules? Well, in League they actually score tries! LOL
Seriously & unbiasly: I'd try watching a couple of games in each code see which one you like best, you'll pick up the basic rules or try the internet?
Any questions about Rugby League rules and i'll answer them for you.

We haven't brought in any star names this season, but I don't for one minute think we won't be challenging for honours. In 2007 we lost 2 of the 1st 3 and 8 in total in the Superleague and still took the League leaders title. Still 25 games left this season.

You needed a slip up from Rhino's to take the title though. Couldnt stop the Rhino's taking play off's though, Rolled over as if you wasnt there.

A great start to the 2nd half to come from behind against Warrington. But too close for my liking, Saints seemed to lack the killer instinct (like the other teams I support at the moment). Not sure whether it was windy at Knowsley Road or whether it was just poor kicking from Lee Briers and Ste Tyrer.
Wigan beat Castleford as expected, but only after a scare and the Rhino's trampled over the Wildcats in Wakey.

Talau, Cayless, Wilkin, Sculthorpe and Fa'asavalu.. So still plenty to come from out boys!

Dead right Adam. Five big names missing from the line-up. They will certainly make a difference when they return. Especially Maurie, I would imagine it hurts when he hits you.

Discipline could be a major factor this year, even more so than previously.
Hull KR found out on opening night and Warrington have given up cheap territory in both games thus far. They got away with it against Hull but you just can't give the top teams an easy 40 or 50 metres with lazy play.

Is that the "Who can stop the Panthers" post for the Superleague, I certainly hope so! The Rhino's have not had the most difficult of starts, with games against Hull KR, Huddersfield, Wakey and Catalans.
Saints got one back and lost one on Friday night. Paul Sculthorpe suffered no reaction following his first game back from injury. But Nick Fozzard will be out for some considerable time, maybe all season, with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). With Maurie Fa'asavalu not due back until Easter, Saints are missing their big guns on the forward line.
It was a good win for Saints at Bradford, thanks to 3 early tries and some poor defending, then Michael Platt getting sin-binned in the 2nd half.

Rhinos off to the usual flying start...only to gives us fans the mid-season jitters again no doubt. lol I was going to try and get to the WCC, but work conspired to shaft me again. Guess I'll just have to make do with another Play-off Final.

Trust me, i think Melbourne took this pretty seriously, they were 1 hell of a dirty team. some of the off the ball stuff which went unpunnished. there were some monster hits out there aswell!!! a few injuries in the Leeds camp, hope they aren't too serious. not really the weather for the aussies, Sinfields kicking puts Johnny Wilkinson to shame, considering the Union game was called off because of high winds, Sinfields conversion from the touch line was a peach! Champions!!! of the world!!!

Leeds beat Melbourne by only a few points and that's after Leeds have had a full pre season and 4 serious matches before hand, where as the Storm have been in the country under a week and only played Halifax in a warm up game and just over half way through there pre season. IMO This game could be planned a lot more better than it is.

Don't worry Gibson will step up from the youth team and do a job a center. Mcguire is also out for a few games. Saw the toopi incident live, he looked in a hell of a lot of pain until the physio popped his shoulder back in again. it was his 7th birthday too (leap year).
Big derby on Friday Leeds - Cas. Leeds averaging 30 points a game, Cas conceding average of 30 points a game.

Can only see this fridays game going one way, Win for the Mighty Leeds.
Scored 128 points, had 36 against. Even with injuries we have the depth of squad to be able to cover and plough on through the season.
Although toopi will be missed, no doubt about that he is a class power house.
