wow Where were Leeds tonight, Cas took it to them and deserved the win St Helens lucky by all accounts Haha i was loving that match, maybe Leeds may not be so cocky now? Too right a Matty Smith penalty in the last minute takes the points!

wow Where were Leeds tonight, Cas took it to them and deserved the win St Helens lucky by all accounts Without seeing the game I wouldn't like to say whether we were lucky or not. The ability to play for the entire 80 minutes and to come back from behind is not down to luck. Matty Smith may have given Saints the win with a last gasp penalty, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is luck. From the two clubs website reports, only the Hull one mentions luck, saying that if Hull had a little more then they would have won. The Saints penalty was given because Hull were offside, well that isn't down to bad luck, surely if it is the last minute of the game you make sure of your position before collecting the ball, which makes it indiscipline rather than unlucky. Wigan and Warrington will be interesting this evening as either team will join Saints and Leeds on 8 points, should they win. Being a Saints fan I'd like them to draw, but there is little chance of that, so I suppose I will have to go for a Wolves win.

Saints v Wigan on Good Friday. Me and MrsMiner had planned on going to this game, but I was too slow the grandstand tickets were sold out. Could have got tickets on the terracing but with neither of us being very tall, we wouldn't have seen much. We will have to settle for watching it on tv in a pub in St. Helens before we visit Gill's folks.

WOW! As good a performance Leeds was last night, the Saints more than matched it against Wigan today with a 46-12 win and thats without Cunningham, Fozzard & Sculthorpe too! Next fridays Saints & Leeds game should be a cracker.. Oh and watch out for Kyle Eastmond what a player he is going to be!!

Was a great win for Leeds on Thursday, heck Friday too as Leeds Union side also won. Anyways Can see Leeds definatly up there at the end of the season.
Loved the comments on Sky Sports, the pundits saying that Leeds and possibly Saints being the only two teams that could go and play in the Australian League and be competative. After watching alot of the australian league i have to say i agree, Both teams would be good over there.

Good Friday didn't work out at all for me. I was working Thursday twilight shift with a 1am finish but some machinery broke down so I had to stay and work overtime to get it going. Didn't get in bed until 6am, we ended up having to set off to St. Helens at 1:30pm so I missed the whole game.
We caught some of the celebrations as some fans were still in the pubs when we went out in the evening!

Leeds continue their march, St Helens however stumble again to another loss.
Only warrington in touching distance as it stands with Leeds. Interesting really.

Bah we can't seem to get going at the minute, don't think we've had the same team for two games running yet! Hopefully step it up on friday, as we usually do for the big games..

Just been reading on Sky Sports, and it says Leeds are actually Favourites with the bookies. Now i dont know about you, but to be i havent heard of a team going to Knowsley Road and being Favourites for quite some time. If ever actually.
Well anyway should be a cracking match, cant wait.

Should be able to annoy MrsMiner big time on Friday. I'll watch the Saints v Leeds game whilst wearing my headphones to listen to Forest at Donny. This is a tough weekend for the teams I follow.

Ineed just seen on Skybet Saints at 11/10 and Leeds at 8/11. Thats about right i'd say on current form.. But as they say never write the Saints off even with injuries! As you say should be awesome..

I can only agree with both your posts Adam.
I will add that I thought Sean Longs decisions to kick some of those penalties in a swirling wind was only marginally better than the decision to have his hair in dreadlocks.
A close game that was won by the team who mastered the weather better. Also loved the way Clarke, hemmings and Stevo were arguing about whether anyone could stop the charge of the Rhinos. It reminded me of this place ;D

It reminded me of this place ;D From what I've seen Leeds are not particularly awesome, they are just doing the basics really well. I have to say I have seen Saints Warrington and Wigan play better all round rugby this season. I don't think it is a formality by any stretch of the imagination.

I agree and disagree with you Alf.
Leeds have played as much outstanding Rugby as any other team from what I've seen. The dirrerence is that they're the only team doing the basics right week on week as well.

Good luck to Chambers. Doubt he can make it but you never know.
Apparently Cas and Wakefield are struggling to win a franchise.

Don't reckon Chambers will play in super league. if he does He'll last no more than 2 games. IMO it's impossible for some one who's never played the game to just pick up a ball and compete at superleague level. It's not good for the sport that young lads at castleford who have been training for years to get a shot in super league are being over looked. Chambers is just after a pension like the league guy's who go to union.

I hear that the superleague want them to merge to become a single franchise. I can't see that happening, it would be like asking Mansfield Town to merge with Chesterfield or Arsenal to merge with Spurs.

It was. Saints lost. Forest lost. Panthers lost. Manor 4th Yellow (the team Sam plays for and I help to coach) lost.

I can't see that happening, it would be like asking Mansfield Town to merge with Chesterfield or Arsenal to merge with Spurs. They wanted them to form ‘Calder’ with Featherstone all those years ago. Superleague should force mergers but won’t have the guts to do so. it’d be great for the sport if a new merged team was formed. Yorkshire would be a better name than Calder. Create a team called Cumbria too and then grant franchises to Wales and Toulose to expand the sport’s reach.

I think Castleford will get a franchise. The challenge will be convincing the RFL to renew it when the review comes along in 2012.
