what about if some of us are already registed for another team?
The way i understand it, its still valid and we can train. But if the team were to get jerseys and play a proper game against another team we would have to register for the team, which i think is discounted for 2nd team.

Hmmmm Im regged with the EIHA.
First aider shouldnt be a problem... im sure some of you have got some old certificate SOMEWHERE!
Level 2 coach? I dont think there is one at the Ice Tigers... and does the coach have to be there EVERY session?
Might have to ask around

Seems a bit daft having to have a L2 coach there.
It's not competetive hockey, it's just a rec session, a kockabout if you like. Why do we need a coach. I know it might be in their rules, but seems daft that a group of lads and lasses can't just get together and have a mess about session.

it must be the NIC's rule and not an isurance rule as that is why the 18 years old and over rule is there to get rid of the L2 Coach
sheffield don't ask for a L2 coach.
i thought it was the job of the place to give a registered first aider TBH

Yeah it's gotta be an NIC rule, cos I know they don't have those rules at Sheffield. So we going for Sunday or the Monday ice time? Monday is best for me as I play with the Sheffield Stix on a Sunday... )

Unless it's on the arena rink, (which is always going to be problamatic due to concerts and the like), I don't see what ice time is going to be available on the monday, there is a public skate session from 7 til 10, following which the Northstars have the olympic ice, (assuming they're not suggesting midnight til 1!!!!).
Did they give you times slots evo?

Arena ice would be awesome
The L2 and first aider are NIC rules, think theyve always asked for the same. The EIHA dont request it

To be honest i cant see where a level 2 coach is going to come from for us to get started due to the stupid NIC rule, I might go down to the northstars in a few weeks see if any of the guys down there could offer any help.
Who trains with the northstars here? and whats the standard like? Any newbies go?

I believe you have decided on 'The Nottingham Predators' is that right? In-case you didn't know there is already a team called the predators in Newcastle, the are called the Newcastle predators (Funnily enough) I know this makes no odds in any real sense, however I also know teams do like to have a distinctive name so I thought I would let you know.

And peterboro, your a few pages too late friend! Pittsburghs NFL team share a name with a sunday league team and they have no problems

yeah northstars is on tonight as always, though it is NOT on next monday as it is bank holiday.
The standard is a mix, its generally fast paced but dont be scared off if you like myself are a newbie. theres a good handfull of us that are blatant newbies. its all about comming down giving it ago. you'll get used to the pace. come down some time

another thing is that if you are in higher education anywhere in the east midlands area you can train and play with the uni team. we take players from Loughborough to Lincoln because there are no ice rinks around there. www.nottingham-mavericks.co.uk
