Does any1 know if there are any teams for over 18 year olds who are just starting hockey, sorry if this sounds stupid, i've just come into this discussion quite late and wondering if any hockey teams were made.

It is hard work to get a team off the ground. We aint there yet, a lot of hard work to go! And whats this we? Its Kev, Rob, Andy and to a degree myself that put in the extra, youve only just made 2 weeks in a row Good! yeah alrite mate, calm it, I never said myself did i? And i think you'll find its 4 weeks in a row with a game included actually not that it makes a difference either way. I'm fully aware of who put in the effort & for that i'm truly grateful. I was clearly saying how everyone has stayed commited therefore making it more of a success, tis all. I win! You tried winding me up and got wound up yourself haha. No need to tell me to calm it, when have you ever known me to "lose it"?! Good work Jay. Hope the skates are nice and sharp for sunday!

Your profile says you're female..... you could play for the senior Vipers (16+)... or try Northstars on a Monday night but that's for more advanced people.

Yea i've looked into the vipers but i'm just waiting to pass my level 5 skate uk thing, just seeing if there were any other teams that i could tag along to Apart from that there is the clinics which i wouldn't mind going to, and i think there might be one coming up so hoping something comes up.

im 99% sure that you dont have to pass level 5 to play over 18's hockey.
it certainly helps if you can skate to that standard, but it's not essential (i dont think). how are the lessons coming on?

im 99% sure that you dont have to pass level 5 to play over 18's hockey. Vipers isnt 'over 18s hockey' fella its WD1 (or WPL if theyve gone up?!). As Becky said there is Northstars but that might be a bit much (not being patronising at all) or the stix in sheffield.

my bad, misread becky's post. i meant over 16's. i think its only the youngun's (under 16's) that have to get to level 5 to go onto the learn to play hockey programs that the ice arena do. regardless of all this, berridge has said she's over 18, so the fine details of my point dont really matter. sorry, got sidetrakced with confusing myself, my point being that regardless of the vipers, i dont think you have to get to level 5 to play at your age berridge (over 18). i know i started before i got to level 5, but if you are continuing skating, then hockey will help you master (in the simplest form of ability) your skating. and vice versa, the lessons have helped my skating in game scenario's come on a long way. the stix are great for beginners, i'd give them a look if i were you

We're still WND1 Rich Berridge, if you fancy trying the Vipers, send me a PM and i'll let you know the details. We're starting off ice training in a couple of weeks and on ice shortly after so it's entirely up to you. Regardless of who you decide to go to or try out you'll need to be registered/insured... however if you're just trying out for a week or so i'm not sure if that is all neccessary... somebody else will probably be able to answer that.

Yeah i have spoken to someone about the vipers but i was told to get up 2 level 5 and then go back and see them, so hopefully when i get a bit better i will go back, and as for the sheffield stix, i am deffinately going to be taking part in, hopefully if i get in. But i've heard more about it and it seems like the best idea for me. My skating is ok, gets stressful at times but i can see myself getting better
