Signing anyone from the DEL to here is a win Dubeau wasn’t a win. However Neill looks a very good pick up, good age, played in some good leagues already and a reliable point scorer.

Three more defenceman with similar experience to this and I’ll be happy. Welcome Neill

I would call this a stud signing at EIHL level. Last three seasons playing AHL then Austria then DEL and only 26. They’ve done well to get him

It’s a good looking signing but it isn’t a real stud Dman. Yes DEL pedigree but 15 games and 1 point split over two clubs isn’t exactly a seasoned pro at that level.

It's a top, top signing. I see what Iggy is saying. He isn't coming in with bags of experience to quite warrent the stud tag already attached. However he could quite quickly end up showing to be one of the best in the league. Looks like he can bring offense when playing a step down but not so much when at DEL/AHL level. Hopefully equates to a solid Dman who can add plenty of secondary scoring in the EIHL.

Based on the recruitment of the arena teams last season I wouldn’t say it’s an overhype if people choose to label him a stud

I think this looks an excellent pick up. Great age but has played in strong leagues. Hopefully comes with a point to prove.

It's not the player, it's the culture these players arrive too.. if they see that things are cushy etc these players with half decent CVs will coast ..

You're only as good as your last season. Let's say I arrive from a decent season in the ECHL, point-a-game, let's say. I get to Nottingham and phone it in from the Legend for 30 points in 60 games. Where does that leave me the next season? Big drop off in point production, and looking at a lower league, or a much harder sell, maybe in a 6-9 role, to an equivalent team? Neither is as good as playing hard and getting the points in the first place? Not many imports score lowly in the EIHL and end up in the DEL2 or ICEHL the season after, for example. Just an opinion I guess.

One advantage is that the legend is now closed so no fawning to get players to frequent the place and end up worse for wear so the patron can have their player fix.

Panthers turn good players into average ones.. Josh Shalla prime example.. Last year Andrew Johnston... There's been a lot who come here just to coast because of the easy street lifestyle.. far too much distraction Forget about fancy CVs.. I means nothing when you come to Nottingham lol

Just an opinion I guess. Undoubtedly that does happen sometimes, but the bigger torpedo to the players and the team is absolute crap coaching which immediately shows new players that there is no point putting any effort in at all, terrible housing (in the past, at least), and the general BS culture of the franchise which they would have all seen or heard of before at other teams in other leagues. What other arena team would give a Wallace & Gromit team up the reins in first-time jobs? Who else would take on the idiot gas bag we started last season with NO coaching assistant of any type at all? If players arrive and then have to get over the shock that they have accidentally signed for the ghost of the Capitals, it's no wonder they realize they have made a mistake and slope off to the dingy old pub. Rumour has it (from CN's mouth) that they didn't even have a training session until well into October! Teams lead by example and the example that the Panthers give is that they don't give a damn, the owner can't stand ice hockey, and your shirt at auction is worth more than you are. Hardly a big surprise really is it? Teams in any sport are supported by a few people with very rose-colored specs, but Nottingham really takes the cake. The Panthers are NOT run the same as any other arena franchise and it's the ex-fans that walk away from the place that have finally realized. Nottingham Panthers are the biggest (but shrinking) rink team in the league.
