Not sure I get that argument. You're only as good as your last season. Let's say I arrive from a decent season in the ECHL, point-a-game, let's say. I get to Nottingham and phone it in from the Legend for 30 points in 60 games. Where does that leave me the next season? Big drop off in point production, and looking at a lower league, or a much harder sell, maybe in a 6-9 role, to an equivalent team? Neither is as good as playing hard and getting the points in the first place? Not many imports score lowly in the EIHL and end up in the DEL2 or ICEHL the season after, for example. Just an opinion I guess. You ain't sure you get the argument..? It's been happening in Nottingham for years and years why else do you think we generally don't win much. Panthers turn good players into average ones.. Josh Shalla prime example.. Last year Andrew Johnston... There's been a lot who come here just to coast because of the easy street lifestyle.. far too much distraction Forget about fancy CVs.. I means nothing when you come to Nottingham lol So how come we won so many trophies under Corey? Players like Francis didnt coast? Cant all be down to the lifestyle and one pub?

That was probably down to good leadership as well. The desire in their group to succeed .. been a train wreck ever since .

Rumour has it (from CN's mouth) that they didn't even have a training session until well into October! You genuinely think that a professional sports team who played 4 league games in September "didn't even have a training session until well into October"? www.panthers.co.uk/latest-news/opening-training-session-today

So Corey had good leadership and culture? I wouldn't bother. There's always an answer. (Of sorts, anyway.) Classic deflection stuff. "Martin Latal's rubbish" How come he scored 50 points in his first season then? "Just shows you how rubbish the league is" etc etc etc You can't reason or debate with someone who has totally entrenched views.

It's quite believable.. then based on performances as well 🤦 I've just literally showed that that "rumour" isn't in any way true. They had a public training session in August, FGS, let alone all the other ones. Not often I am lost for words.

You mean like the time Panthers had a quiz night the night before an away game in Cardiff? Several players got hammered, One of whom fell asleep at his table as a result. That was under Coreys watch. Granted Corsy may not have arranged the night of the quiz or the away game that followed. But that still comes down to culture on numerous levels...

As for the drunken quiz night, that should've been a red card. But what do I know, eh?

Can you imagine turning up to a fully pro hockey club as a player and not even having a training session until 6 weeks after the season starts?

Rumour has it (from CN's mouth) that they didn't even have a training session until well into October! I can categorically say with 100% certainty that this is absolute nonsense. The side trained regularly from the start of training camp last August.

So the players were all match fit when CN arrived in Nottingham? This is about not having any training sessions, nothing about being match fit. Whether those training sessions were any good in terms of fitness is a different question.

Paredes wants players to 'arrive fit & in shape' and if they aren't then it's 'inexcusable'. His words nit mine.
Granted that's not match fitness but how many times under Corey's regime did players arrive late (sometimes allowed to be) or out of shape? Jade Galbraith conveniently managed to dodge a preseason team training session with the army because his work oermot was late... all legit reasons I'm sure.
Time will tell if Paredes sticks to his words if a player of players arrive unfit/ out of condition. About time a coach did and wasn't overuled from above.

If Carl Neil is being classed as a “stud” D man then what are the likes of Vandermeer, Hotham,Walser,Register,Bolibruck,Munn, Reinhart,Sandrock,Elfring etc classed as ? Decent looking signing Neill, but if he’s being classed as a “stud” these days then it shows just how far the quality of the EIHL has fallen.

This is where your captain sets the tone for me. Jordan Fox wouldn’t let anyone coast, as has been said already. Cushy lifestyle, for me = wrong players.
