Because he’s arrogant. He’s been here too long. He says stupid things to players. He doesn’t show passion. Players do there homework and the Moran\Black thing goes against us. We won’t pay the extra money when it’s needed. And I’m told he’s generally crap at recruiting.
Jesus with what we’ve got in Nottingham and the finances we could use,we could put together an all star EIHL quality team and afford it easily if we wanted.
Panthers just don’t want to win enough.

Add to that when the last player to deliver us the league offers to come and you turn him down... It's the quality of recruitment which is a problem. And yes we don't want to win enough. I personally think that Corey does but Black does not. We have the finances to fly Linger in plus 3 top imports which would both make our fans very happy and deliver silverware but we won't. Black is just taking the money and HE is the problem but he won't change because we are his cash cow, his golden goose, his ATM. And that is why we will never do what we should do and what our fans deserve...dominate British hockey. That's not arrogance it's economics.

Because the EIHL is way better than the ECHL Pidge. Lol 😂😂 No seriously,it’s just that his last coach was crap !

looking at tweets from the last month or do I just wonder whether Shalla was headhunted back to Indy and he told the club he wanted to leave, what with the fans on his back here and the abuse he received he probably thought sod this I'm off. seems strange he's gone straight back into a line up 2 days after leaving here and scores 2 goals that he couldn't buy here with the line mates he had.

Sometimes things don’t work out for players; it doesn’t necessarily mean anyone is “ crap.” Good luck to him in Indy.

Well at the risk of a deluge of criticism I don't wish him luck because he was awful for us and was just taking the money. This is not down to coaching it's down to his attitude. I don't care how he does in the ECHL but I wish his replacement the very best of luck when he finally arrives. I think that when players put in a proper stint at a club like Kwall or leave for family reasons like Linger ( two players with the same coach as Shalla) then yeah they leave will all our best but when they really can't be bothered then meh!

I’ve already posted on this thread I’m glad the club cut him; it wasn’t working for whatever reason. Having said that, I don’t wish him any malice and he’s just another player passing through.

Sometimes things don’t work out for players; it doesn’t necessarily mean anyone is “ crap.” Nail. Head. Hit. It didn't work out - that's all we know for sure. Why? We don't know. It could have been the coaching. It could have been poor chemistry with linemates (which isn't really a player's fault as such). It could have been he had a bad attitude. It could have been some problem he had with the club & the way it's run. It could have been that he just didn't like it here in Nottingham/Britain. It could have been that he only cared about the CHL and then just wanted to go back to NA for more money/exposure. Or something else... All of the above are plausible - none of them are definite. I await (with zero expectations) for any of the self-proclaimed experts to offer definitive proof of any of them... not just "well, it's obvious" or "it stands to reason" or whatever...

He did appear very half hearted post CHL mind. I'd never wish malice on any player of any team but not too fussed how it pans out for him that's all. He did naff all during a shortened stint for us. What's for sure is if we only bring one guy in then all we've done is save a month's wages and that tells you all you need to know about the decision makers...

It didn't work for him here and just seems to me like his confidence looked absolutely shot. I wouldn't call him a lazy player especially when we've had players like Lawrence and Carter and i don't think he's the worst we've had. Remember if weren't for his goals early in the CHL we probably wouldn't have had the success we then went to achieve. It was the right decision to cut him but hopefully now he can get his career back on track and we can (hopefully) replace him with someone better

Shalla is a quality player, he’s proved that at every club he’s been to bar us.. besides in the CHL. For whatever reason though, something drastically changed between the CHL/Pre-Season and the Regular Season. I don’t buy the opinion that he ‘lost interest after the CHL’. Personally I think it’ll have been a case of mismanagement from Corey, Shalla just didn’t look confident at all or like he was playing his natural game. The highlight video from Indy the other night shows Shalla oozing confidence, he barely had the confidence to shoot whilst with us.
The Ling thing, just because he tweeted ‘Corey doesn’t want me lol’ it doesn’t mean that’s the truth. It’s Ling, a wind up merchant and to me he’s saying that as in he doesn’t think Corey would want him so he’s made the decision for him. Does anyone actually think Corey would reject one of the best players the club has had, on a short term deal? I can’t see him going anywhere besides Brampton.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out, hockey isn't played on paper.
PC Drouin had a bad time of it when he came back, Shaun Sutter scored 25+ in the ECHL but really disappointed in Nottingham. Bob Wren came with a ton of DEL pedigree but it didn't work out, Joe Jensen was a consistent scorer in Italy but not here.
If it was as easy as logging on to Elite Prospects, selecting ECHL, sort by goals and signing the top three players we'd all be coaches.

I remember winning the Stanley cup with Toronto... I don't believe you. Fantasy hockey or not, the Maple Laughs can't break their half century of hurt.

www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11443This guy's just gone from the AHL (albeit hasn't played for 2 months) to Norway, which I'd say is about on a par with the EIHL, import wise, for some teams, below for others. Some decent stats last year in the Liiga. Was he on Panthers' radar?
