Genuine question. Most games Panthers have more on the bench than their opponents. Why are you complaining they are short of bodies? Steelers (and Panthers) went for years with 15 skaters, 10 forwards and 5 defenders, with the odd young British kid getting an occasional shift. Steeler's defence for many years until two seasons ago was 4 imports and Thomas. The game today is no harder, in fact it's easier, being much less physical, so, why the need for more players? Balance. When someone decided it was a good idea to become a GB development team at the expense of available import places that left us short in some very important positions. You don't need bums on the bench, you need good bums. But you played 11 imports and a very strong group of British skaters. I still don't get it.

(I know Mosey does both) We are quite lucky in the fact we have Sarich and Legue who can play both roles very well. Not to mention Hay on the coaching staff.

No, in recent years we've been lucky having Fox and Benedict to do that. But guys like Kolnic, Moran, Ling, McMillan, Lacho, Farmer, Clarke etc aren't at all built for that role at all. Take any number of those guys out of our forward lines and it upsets the balance and also takes a big sting out of the offence too. Take into account our already lack of scoring form to win games and it points to our defence being so stretched that forwards are already having to do a lot of work to ease the defences stress. We don't ice Oakford not when we have a full defence quota. What i don't understand is our inability to carry a spare who like yourselves have in Hay is moving away from playing to go into a coaching role. Comes down to either over confidence or lack of commitment to cause not just for the sake of stability. We all know we're stable, so our point is why when we do take injuries are we so reluctant to act. Waiting for the right guy is all well and good but when we're dropping points in that time what do we have to show for it? A guy that could have saved us a month ago. Everyone else has managed to find replacements so they have absolutely no excuse. Imo we sign them to shut up people complaining because the negativity starts spreading. The positive spin is always put on by GM but this "fabulous arena" with "the best fans in the league" are being cut short by a lackluster management team showing no interest or passion to win.

The old saying goes "you get out what you put in".......unless you're a Panthers fan that is ! Nobody can deny that the Panthers fans are loyal, they pretty much do anything for the team, but the same attitude is not being returned by the club and that is where the fans grievance is.
A team is allowed to ice 22 players,so why should we get shortchanged just because some other teams can only afford to have 17 or 18 players ? We as Panthers fans more than do our bit, maybe if the fans of some other teams got off their backsides, then their team may be able to afford to have the full compliment too. Not once yet this season have we iced our full squad and in quite a few games we have only played 9 or 10 imports against the oppositions 13. Yes we have a good Brit pack, but remember two of them get hardly any ice time unless there are injuries.
As for waiting to sign the right guy, well that's just spin. How many have we signed late over the years who turned out to be poor in one way or another, there have been a fair few,so i simply don't accept that old cliche. If you are prepared to spend you can get quality.
