Wonder who the ref is for this game as Mr Darnell and Hicks seem to be on the missing list. The only regular ref we seem to have seen so far this season is Dean Smith, but to be honest he has been the worst of what we have seen so far.
I have been far more impressed with Messrs Sewell and Pering etc.

Darnell and Hicks are refereeing in Denmark (Or Europe somewhere).

So by my reckoning we are 4 players down. Are Sheffield missing any?

Good following from the Panthers fans looking at the amount of tickets we've sold, should be a good game and I expect it to be pretty eventful

So by my reckoning we are 4 players down. Are Sheffield missing any? They have had the same 19 man team for the last 6 games, so from that you would think they'll be at full strength.

As previously stated, this is a huge test for Wiikman and the D who haven't let more than 2 goals in, in any one game so far this season. Steelers seem to have a decent offence so a massive test on the cards.
This has the potential to be a real barnstormer, even though it's game 1 of the usual 476 regular season meetings between the 2 clubs.
Tough one to call really. Heart says Panthers, head says Steelers will nick it with home ice advantage and us being a few players light. Not much in it either way, we can only hope that the stripeys let the players decide the outcome.
Bring it on.

If both teams were at full strength I would give Panthers the edge.
Hope I'm wrong, but I think Farmer out injured plus having three less imports will cost us !

Good point, I think its a big ask to go to the hot team right now and win missing a key defenceman, a new forward signing, the illusion import non-signing and Farmer.. who knows but as Ted said, heart says panthers head says steelers

Challenge Cup game, both of us have qualified for the QF's so there's little to be taken out of the game. Could potentially lead to backups in net?
I don't think either team will be overly bothered about the result, both playing tomorrow in the league which is more important so why risk throwing everything into a dead rubber game. Can't really see Janssen going out looking to fight Fitzgerald, if anything it'll be the opposite way round, could work in our favour, draw a few penalties and if Fitzgerald blows his top then he could get suspended for our league meeting next weekend.
Hopefully win but I'd rather not have us play the game like its a war, already a few players down. Can't see the scoreline being anything more than 3-2.

If hockey was played by accountants, only interested in the bottom line, then maybe. But we have to remember that for these guys, hockey is their life... they want to play, the adrenaline gets going, they want to win regardless. Possibly they won't push it to the absolute limits... but I wouldn't be surprised if they go at it hammer and tongs regardless.

No such thing as a rubber game against Sheffield. The pride of beating them lot is enough of an incentive in my eyes. The fact Thommo coaches them makes me want to beat them even more.!

Me to, I can't stand Paul Thompson, sat too close to him once to hear his dirty tactics when we were beating them at home a few years back. He didn't have a good track record against us in his last years at the Blaze, Corey able to out coach him &I let's hope it carries on tonight.

It's a shame Ling isn't here and a bigger shame we're two import Dmen light. Personally I think it's pretty shoddy that we're almost into the middle of October and our roster still isn't complete. Worse still is the silence surrounding the whole fiasco. It's almost as if the management hope everyone has forgotten we are players short.

Can't wait for this match. Who cares if we have already qualified. Does that matter? It's a game and if we go into it thinking it's not a big deal then it doesn't bode well for the rest of the season if that's the attitude we are going to go with

This webcast is buffering so much. Went from anthem, hit refresh... to 2 minutes in and I missed Panthers goal. It's buffering every 10 seconds now. It's now been frozen for about a minute. Unwatchable.

Unwatchable. It's not great for me but I put it down to my terrible netbook. It's buffering a hell of a lot but doesn't skip too much play once it resumes, bloody annoying though.

Unwatchable. I'm finding it the same. It's ridiculous. I e-mailed support and they did respond, but not with anything useful. I've tried all the FAQ stuff as well. I will be asking for money back.

To be fair to them they answered quickly and offered the refund. I've tried 2 PCs 4 browsers, rebooted my routers and switched from WiFi to cable. I've run Speedtest.net (100 mbps and 6ms ping!!) and tested streaming from twitch.tv. That works fine!. Btw- are you on virginmedia? Could be ISP issues as I've been getting lag and drop out in online games recently. I've only seen about 5 mins so far and my stream is saying we are at 27:40. I suspect I'm 5 or more minutes behind live already! Oh well.
