Had a quick look on the website and there are so many seats unsold, wonder if attendances will match the European games we had last season.

Would be a crying shame of these games aren't well attended. I'm hoping for at least 5000 for each match.

A few years ago you used to be so positive but recently you seemed to have turned very negative. Not a critism as much as an observation. I think the attendance will be fine on the day. Guessing a good chunk of people will be on holidays for the August games. Just have to wait and see. I speculate that a lot of people think we are out of our depth. I agree somewhat but I'm still going, I think we will make a good account of ourselves.

I brought my tickets, not expecting a win, but going to watch some quality teams in a meaningful game!
I presume there will be a fair number of walk up sales, and once everyone is back of their holidays the regulars will return & buy theirs.

I was surprised yesterday when I was able to get 2 tickets on row A this close to the game, hoping more people will be buying closer to the day as well.

It's also on premier sports which for people that have bought ST might see as a cheaper option especially for a family of say 4.

If people do fail to turn up for these games, it will be a smack in the mouth for Neil Black and his ambitions. It will also show how insular Panthers' fans are, and maybe British ice hockey fans in general. It would be a shame if fans pass up on the opportunity to see some top class hockey.

It would be a terrible shame. The ticket deal is good value for money but, as with last seasons continental cup, it hasnt captured the imagination yet. We need good crowds for this as it couldeffect the EIHL's future participation in the tournament.

Wonder if part of the problem is that it's so early on

As a neutral (ex Manchester Phoenix fan, but since moving to our London I've watched more NIHL than anything - I still go to the EIHL playoffs every year though) I am incredibly excited about the CHL games and I'm staying the weekend to watch the first 2. I enjoy EIHL hockey (way more than Epl and NIHL) and the opportunity to see Lukko and Lulea was too good to miss for me! I hope ticket sales are good, because it would be a shame given how much support the owners appear to be putting in.
Wish I could make the Hamburg game as well, but the last train is too early

It would show nothing of the sort... August Bank Holiday weekend - many people have holidays or other family events planned around that and would find it a problem to make the games. Add in the Premier Sports option, the fact that there are also a couple of non-ST Challenge Cup games in September and unfortunately there are a lot of reasons for people to stay away (not me, I'll be there).

It's not Panthers or EIHL's problem alone, samekind of discussion is going on in Finland too, propably in every participating country. The games are being played too early, its 30 celsius outside, people are enjoying their summer, Teams are not at their best, only handfull of prepgames played. Majority of the fans consider these games mainly to be just preseason practicegames. I am waiting for these games a lot but I too would like these to be played when lets say 10-20 games were played in domestic leagues so the teams would be at their own level. Positive side is that with this little preparation, the potental for surprising results is higher.
I'm going to see KalPa's games against Sparta Prague, Adler Mannheim and Växjö Lakers, sadly, I'm pretty sure there will be quite many seats free at the are A at those games

Its practically the same for everyone, no reason not to take the games seriously. Also with the amount of games taking place and the international breaks the european leagues take they have to start now or they wouldn't be able to fit the competition in. In terms of ticket sales, still a couple of weeks to go. Hopefully everyone can do their best to get people to come the games, would be disappointing to see a low crowd for an event that panthers have clearly put a lot of effort into. So far looking at the arena website I would hazard only 1500-2000 tickets sold for each game (lukko & lulea). Hopefully we can get that up to over the 4,000 mark which would be a good result at this time of the year and with the games not on our traditional saturday night

Yeah, and cant blame CHL and it's teams for not trying to sell the games to the audience, KalPa for example has good info on their webpage about each of their opponents, biographies, who are their star players and even list of important words in their languages etc, plus mentioning CHL each time when they got a chance to do so. This thing could become something huge, I just hope people give it a chance it deserves.

These sort of games attract your more hardcore panthers contingent rather than your every day fan. Your casual fan is going to be looking at games against Sheffield because they've heard of them - if you weren't an avid follower of hockey, the competition will possible mean nothing to you. I mean how many fans had heard of Lulea or Lukko before the draw?

That's most likely true that the teams may be unfamiliar but, c'mon, Europe-wide CHAMPIONS hockey league should draw people to see the games. In Finland though the name itself seems to be a topic of mocking since there's so many teams who don't do justice for the name as founding members of the league, including KalPa (14th in 14 team Liiga and TPS 13th)

The games will probably be more physical, Riga for example more hits than top of the pops. The games in Asiago were also fast hard hitting games. This soft euro nonsense is Bull ****

Well, I'm quite sure you'll see Lukko playing physical game, if not by the whole team, at least Jonne Virtanen will give your forwards some headache Now this said, come the gameday and Lukko will be hard as a figureskating team
