The thing is, non-season ticket fans wait to see who we are playing before they buy a ticket. If they don't have the CHL explained to them and what it means to the Panthers and British Ice Hockey, then they'll just think "ah I'll save my money for the Sheffield game"

I also think that the advertising on the web site etc. is aimed at the people who will probably go to the games. It needs pushing elsewhere at audiences that would not normally go to hockey games. Don't try and convert the converted.

The occaisional fan see's it as another game of ice hockey, they wouldn't know a quality game like the CHL from an average quality game.
If they want more than 3000-3500 there then they need to give a load of freebies away or get the kids for a quid offer out sharpish.

Freebies is the only way like you say if they want a good crowd. The average fan won't watch a hockey game over bank holiday weekend anyway.
Very true mate

It was advertised at the City Ground yesterday. I doubt many would have noticed if it was on the tv screens or not as 29,000 were too buzzing seeing the homecoming of a living legend. What a day

Unfortunately, either you go or you don't,there needs to be an incentive for anybody but the hardened hockey fan.
I quite like football, but even if Forest played Real Madrid and tickets were 15 quid it wouldn't tempt me to go.
If I got a free ticket then I might do.

The games will probably be more physical, Riga for example more hits than top of the pops. The games in Asiago were also fast hard hitting games. This soft euro nonsense is Bull **** When I watched Timra and HV71 in Jonkoping a few years ago, it was more physical than 99% of games ive seen in this country. The ignorance and arrogance towards euro leagues in this country is staggering, in other words people who are pretty clueless

If the ticket sales are poor then I think they ought to consider pulling the curtains down and moving everyone down a bit. There's more of an atmosphere when the curtains are down. For those of us that saw the Riga match and raved about it to those that missed a corker I would have thought a few will turn up last minute. Shame is last week of the holidays & bank holiday weekend as people will still be on holiday. I've not bought my tickets yet but will just buy on the door. Really looking forward to some hockey.

Curtains down for the most expensive games in Panthers history? I can't see that.

Most expensive in terms of the number of players signed on short-term contracts, and what appears to be poor ticket sales?

Hope not, some of us choose to sit high up. It's a shame it doesn't seem to be catching the imagination, much like the Continental Cup. Hopefully for those of us going, it'll be a case of people not knowing what they've missed, as the CC weekend was.

People said CC weekend was better attended here than a lot of other places it's been hosted
Will be fair few walk ups as well. Reckon it'll be 4,000+ there to be honest

Well we have had our tickets for a week or so now and are so looking forward to the events.
we attended the cc weekend and really enjoyed the hockey and without dissing those teams this is a big step up in the class of opponent.
We won every game in the cc at home and all in all did very well in asiago i see no point in doubting our chances in the chl.
Plus it brings hockey back sooner.

These games will be much tougher although with the size and quality of our roster we should be able to compete.
We might sneak the odd win. Either way it will be great to see and shame on those 'fans' who could go but cant be bothered.

Sorry Shorty but i am going to be sensible again. I can watch the likes of Steelers 10 times a season, a lot of the games boring - over hyped or i can watch some of the best teams in europe once. Hard choice, plus the CHL games are cheaper But i will see Hamburg twice. BOOM.

Hard choice, plus the CHL games are cheaper But i will see Hamburg twice. BOOM. As a Steeler, I'd agree - I'd rather watch CHL too! I had hoped these fixtures would have created a lot more interest, and I bought my tickets early (yes I am coming down to support you lot) as I thought at least the season ticket holders would want to come, and fans from other teams would be attracted in too. Should be two of the best teams on these shores in recent history - or three if you count the 'import heavy' CHL version of the Panthers too. I'm hoping you (we) and sneak a surprise, which would reward your ownership team for the investment they have put in, and put the EIHL and GB in a good light too. Hope you don't mind a few Orange shirts in and amongst you - just this time obviously.
