What a game. I doubt anyone was expecting that!
Top player of the night... Nobody. The entire team was exceptional.
K-Wall - does what it says on the tin...WALL. Norton, Weaver and Lee - Solid, physical and effective. Henley + Oreskovic - were massive figures at the back and defended/enforced only when needed to. Ryan - 100% effort every game since Capraro left. Jacina - best game for us so far this season Kalus - sign him up for next season. Hands of a god. Lacho, Franny and Salters - frightful line. Salters especially hitting everything that moves. Clarke - does what Clarke does, can't complain. Saari - showed tonight he can put good shifts in against the big boys Boxill- energy of a bulldog and a decent hockey player too. Great combo. Loyns - for me, I've loved watching him since his return. The big 'What If' springs to mind. Had he not been injured, our forwards would be strengthened hugely. Dan Green - GREENER!
Highlight of the night was that first PK by us. Set the tone and was absolutely dominant.
Look how good the D is when all the D-Men are professional D-Men and not forwards!
And how good was the forward play, even WITHOUT Benedict!
Id also like to add how good I thought the Ref was tonight. Steelers may disagree but I think he let go what needed to be and called penalties that were needed. Very good job.
Just as a side note, speaking to the lady next to me who works at panthers, Benny's dad has passed away so he's gone back home. Thoughts are with him.

Great to see Stevie Lee out there, Powerplay looked far more effective which is no coincidence. Lacho was immense, as was Kalus. Ryan looking really good now as well. Big O has settled in, looks very Beckett like. K-Wall was rock solid, if only he'd been fit or year.
Steelers were poor, first time I've seen Doyle have a bad un.

Agree about the ref (Dean Smith). Got just about everything right. Especially giving two each when Henley sorted out Meyer after the goalie interference. That's the sort of call that Darnell or Hicks would have bottled and given Henley an extra misconduct

As Panthers supporters we've seen many gutless performances however, Sheffield you have taken the biscuit, that was woeful. Not one player stepped up to the plate.

Panthers set the tone by sending out that line on the first shift - Henley, Oreskovic, Salters, Jacina and Kalus. It was just saying "remember that this is what we've got"....and it completely worked. Didn't get a squeak out of Steelers, and they completely bottled it.
I'm really struggling to see what the point in Spencer is. Tonight was absolutely crying out for him to do something to change the momentum, but he wouldn't even look at any of our players - and if he's not doing that, why not get a better player in to replace him?
From the Panthers side, Oreskovic is just getting better and better. And you only realise how good Lee is when he's missing - everything just looked so much more solid with him on the ice, PP especially.
Add Werner, Benedict and Farmer to that line up and it could be frightening. Unfortunately we'll never know if we had a league winning side this year though - but I think we did.

Big game from Kowalski to set the tone for the cup semi's. Spencer to avoid Henley. Fata to avoid Salters / Oreskovic. Panthers to win 4-2. Good call mate. I love you.... You were absolutely spot on apart from Panthers got 5 not 4 and Fata avoided everyone including Kalus not just big Phil and Salters.

Could go either way IMO. If panthers play as a team and take their chances early they will out score Sheffield and win. If we play as individuals and miss chances early, we'll get frustrated and lose. We won't defend, so it's going to be 5-2 either way. Colt King was a good player who entertained, would love to see him back in the league but he's not suited to it, he'll just be penalized out of the country. Again. Well that went as expected.

Although I thought Sheffield were poor that was the best team performance from the Panthers for some time. Everyone contributed but special mentions for Kowalski and Kalus who were immense. Great work rate from Francis and Boxill while the return of Lee made a huge difference at the back.

He set the tone in the first period with his workrate, physicality and skill level. It was as good an individual as I've seen this season. K-wall is back!! Great performance by everyone tonight. One of if not the best team performance of the season. Well done Panthers

Very good performance, well worth the points tonight and sets up the semi final nicely. Good to see Kowalski back to his assured self, was nice too to see Henley stick up for him when Meyer ran him. Only negative (it is the Cage afterall ), does Matt Ryan have to be the back post guy on the powerplay? Fans on his angled shot so often (I will admit I have seen him score from there too. Once).

I was sat in block 16 tonight, did anybody else see Henley receive the puck right at the end and look to go over on his leg and skate straight down the tunnel

Well there went my prediction LOL. I followed on the web and was glad to hear a new Ref's name for a change. by sounds of it we have found a NEW #1 Ref in the league. Cracking job Dean Smith . Great performance from all the team, K-Wall Simply shows night in night out why he IS the #1 Netminder in the league and what a way to tune up for Wednesday. This season would have been closer if not for the injuries but we must have turned the corner for the season onwards and upwards for the CC and Play-offs Happy Birthday to the Beeston Bullet Robert Lachowicz. "WE BELIEVE"

Both Ted Logan and Andrew1972 "Did he? I seem to recall that Finnerty gassed him prior to the play-offs:-" I DO have my facts straight - Instead of comments like this you might READ the post properly. I known he was gassed by Finnerty and at a strange time WRT play offs., but he left I think with lots of less than complementary words- hence "in a huff". I did NOT say he left on his own accord!!It seemed at the time there was a bust up? Great win tonight - perhaps with players returning it is settling down?

Credit where credits due, well done Corey and Rick for getting the guys back together after last week We were brilliant! I went into the game with a 'I'm not fussed tonight, just gonna watch some hockey' and I really enjoyed it. Ref was good, sheffield were sheffield. I said to someone after their timeout I bet they do a typical Doug now and get dirty, next player Kwall gets clobbered. Henley did his job and a good call by the ref Did anyone else see Spencer's little slash on kalus? ( sorry if mentioned already I've not read all the pages) Panthers, notts and tampa win, good weekend

I found the following on Facebook, let try reunite the junior with their ST.
"Hi everyone, I've found a junior season ticket on the floor at Huntingdon Street car park. Message me if you know anyone that's lost one."
Anyone who can help, I will pass on to the person who posted it. Thanks.

Brilliant game last night, if that team can turn up to every game it would be greatly appreciated. My 3 stars would go to Kalus, Lacho and Salters. I thought Salters had his best game for a long time tonight, finished his hits, constantly chasing the puck, making his presence felt in front of the crease and putting up a goal and 2 assists. Cant remember another Panthers player in a while that has forced more turn overs than Kalus, I really hope we can retain Kalus and Salters next season.

That's the NIC ticket line I believe. Seems a sensible way of getting it back to the rightful owner. Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

I thought Jeff Legue had one of his better games against us last night. Big Doug didn't think so, as he has dropped him for tonight's game against the Blaze.
