Ted Logan "Come off it, Fox sold a dummy and King bought it. He got kicked out and Fox laughed at him then played on." I posted this on youtube and it was obvious (I took it off to prevent further Shuff insults). I really dont think that you are going to induce a full head on impact with the boards. You can think what you like. I was commenting on the effectiveness of King to the Steelers. He was very good at what he did. Scored goals, made assists and looked after his team mates. You can judge him based on this one incident (even Jordan Fox dismissed it) if you wish but I prefer to look at his impact over the course of the season. He was very effective for Sheffield to put it mildly. And what happened to King? He left in a huff.

I seem to recall that Finnerty gassed him prior to the play-offs:- www.sheffieldsteelers.co.uk/unison-sheffield-steelers-release-colt-king-p176812I thought we were talking about the 'on ice' stuff but I can see that you're like a dog with a bone here and obviously have an issue with the guy over his hit on Fox. You're so blinkered that you're not prepared to acknowledge the fact he contributed greatly on the ice for one of our rivals. I don't have a problem with giving praise where it's due to opposition players whereas you clearly do. Lets just do away with the Colt King type characters then and go down the 'soft euro' non-contact route shall we? After all, he committed one of the biggest crimes on ice by putting one of pur players into the boards. A player that got up uninjured and carried on afterwards. A player that afterwards admitted that he saw King coming and 'sold it' to him:- "Also quite liked Colt King in a begrudgingly respectful kind of way." After the way he pinned Fox headfirst into the boards? I asked Fox about that at the post playoff party - he sold that check - he saw him coming and knew he could get King kicked out for it.

He said 'no thanks', carried on playing, and Steelers won the game. Your comments allude to him being scared of Henley. They've fought before. Spencer was one of the most frequent "heavyweight" (I hate to use that word but it applies) fighters in the AHL when he was there, I'm sure there were plenty of players just as tough as Henley in the AHL - what makes you think he's going to come over here and be scared of another player? Don't people realise that most of the time when a player (who is well known for fighting) turns down the opportunity to fight another player, it's all to do with timing or instructions from the coach. I don't think being scared comes into it. Except maybe with Drew Fata, who picks his opponents very wisely. Where have I even mentioned the word scared? We've all seen players turn down fights, Spencer alluded to the fact that Henley would get it next game he did'nt. So he's gone from sgt to pvt. He, (very brave Spencer) offered, a young Brit out at our place. They said no, so Henley stepped in and Spencer turtled. Is he related to sugar Plumton fairy from Cardiff.

Is that an instruction or an opinion? Actually looking forward to tonight's game and the semi final series. I think we will lay down a marker.

Well I suppose you'd know all about turtling, having the king of turtles in your line up for a few weeks, Mr Grimaldi.

Him and Finnerty had problems and Finnerty gassed him. He was actually very close to rejoining us in the summer, hardly the act of a player that left in a huff. Players like Colt King kept players honest as well as really contributing on the points front. He may have played for us, and that's probably the reason you won't give him any credit, but I'm willing to bet most teams in this league would have loved him in their line up. Players that can fight AND contribute on the goals and points front are few and far between unfortunately.

We need to be well on our game tonight. This game really has the opportunity to set the tone for the upcoming cup games. If you lay down a marker tonight then that will really give you a big morale boost. Whereas if we come in and beat you then our confidence will be sky high going into the cup games, coming off 4 straight wins against you. Very important game imo.

Could go either way IMO.
If panthers play as a team and take their chances early they will out score Sheffield and win.
If we play as individuals and miss chances early, we'll get frustrated and lose.
We won't defend, so it's going to be 5-2 either way.
Colt King was a good player who entertained, would love to see him back in the league but he's not suited to it, he'll just be penalized out of the country. Again.

Don't think spencer will play tonight. With Baldwin suspended we have to play a player down I think. The only way I can see him playing is if Nate is injured.

If Spencer doesn't play that leaves you notably vulnerable on the physical front so I'd be very surprised if Doug scratched him, I'm not sure Fata and Goertzen would be particularly comfortable playing their game without him tonight either!

It's a shame that "we" are not a team who go round targeting players when the opponents "tough-ish" guy is not playing.

Dicasmirro won't be there tonight looking at the latest, so I'd imagine Spencer will play. Being as Dicasmirro played Thursday and Friday night for Italy, it might be a decent rest for him anyway.

Really looking forward to this game now. I'm hoping that both teams go for it and that we get a bit of crash, bang, wallop!
Don't spoil the game ref, whoever you are. 7000 in the building wanting some entertainment so let the players play.
