I wonder if Chris Zarb will get a ban for the incident, i think he was assessed a major penalty for kneeing which lead to the injury.

We, more than many, know what it is like to run without your captain - not good, but the players will just get on and do what they have to do.

With regards to Zarb, his penalty should befit the crime, not the outcome but based on the Lepine/Globke hit lastt year, who knows.

He is unlucky with injuries. A good player for GB, and one that will be difficult for Steelers to replace, especially after Dowd left them.

I remember reading that they were hoping that Philips whould pick up alot of the slack that they were left with when Dowd jumped ship. Its a massive blow to their brit pack, which i didnt think was that strong anyway.

I hope Warren doesnt go - a key player for Phantoms both going forward and in defence. Warren is a cracking player - when he iced for Vipers a few years ago he was one of our top players that year. he's kind of a Mark Levers type player I guess.

Does anyone know if the super duper Elite league Nasa camera was at the game? i have a feeling it may have been. Good news, Warren Tait is passed it. Phllips ain't that great IMO. Don't give a monkeys TBH, just beat whoevers in front of us.

Zarb got a 5 + game for the kneeing, I doubt anything else will be done about it. Jono is a huge loss for the team though, if we can add W Tait it would be a good pick-up for this time of the year, he isn't half as good as Jono offensively, but is a good PK forward.

Can't say I give a rats ass about steelers but shame about the injury. That said though, if 5+ game is the penalty for taking out a key player, well worth it.

Our own captain hasn't played yet this season. I haven't seen anyone tripping over themselves in a rush to offer sympathy.

As a hockey fan, I don't like to see players injured like this - regardless of team. As a GB fan, I'm just hoping that he's fully sorted and fit in time for the Worlds next April. As a Panthers fan, I confess to a slight giggle...

Can't say I'm all that bothered, I feel bad for the guy being injured again in the same way, but if it weakens a competitor then I'll not lose any sleep.
Here's hoping the other Tait doesn't do too well for them!

Out of curiosity, what was the circs? I see Phillips got 5+game for slashing same incident? Zarb stuck out the knee of Jono, who went down, picked himself up and gave Zarb a whack (luckily it wasn't that hard or Zarb would be injured as well), then Stephenson came over and he and Zarb fought. Dinamo Riga player got 3 games for what was less of a knee the other day in the Riga-Kazan game, but I doubt Zarb will be looked at since the ref game the 5 + game.

Must have been a fair whack to get the 5 and game. Fair play to him though

in all fairness 5 and game isnt enough imo, he cant recieve the same punishment for a slash surely even you guys must agree with that,
it was a dirty uncalled for hit, the play had moved on from centre ice and Zarb clearly went after Jono and kneed him, carson amazingly was in front of it and only called on jono's reaction slash to the leg, which was heavy and deserved a penalty but not the same as zarb who then got chsed by Stephenson and lost the fight, the 5 plus game was given after carson discussed it with the linesman after the fight

Agreed, it must have a been helluvva slash to get penalised like that... butwithout seeing it, depends on the intent of the slash, was it high? was it a 2 handed golf swing? DIfficult without seeing the knee as well.
Had they had words earlier? was it in response to another incident? JUst curious.
FWIW im all for players giving out a good slash when stuff like that happens, keeps it honest.
