After seeing the incident again, the puck was in play near them not near the boards at first, so maybe it wasn't intentional to hurt him

erm no why would i give it a rest, he deserves his ass handing to him and im happy he has decided to give it another year before he retires cos hes someone that doesnt deserve to be able to call time on his own careerAre you serious? Now I don't care much for what this thread has descended into, but I have to take issue with this statement. You would prefer it if Voth's career was ended by a significant injury?! That's just plain childish and quite frankly stupid. Come on we as fans are better than that. tbh anyone but him no way that is wrong but i strongly hate that man not just on the ice and i have my reasons so yes i would love someone to not give him the choice to call time on his career when he tries to end others. thats the voth situation over with, but the jono thing doesnt look as bad as it did the first time around so it maybe is the end of it with the fight happening

Looking at that video it bewilds me how the richest team in the league cannot devise a panthers TV consisting of match highlights and post game interviews, instead we get crappy radio interviews by GM who doesnt even plan what he is going to say.. im quite happy we have the steelers tv, it's a bit late now though the

Andy h, you say you have your reasons.... What reasons do you have for hating Voth. He's a polarizing for sure, but no more or less than any other tough guy. I've seen nothing to suggest anything other than you are a sheff can and you are still bitter that sjogren and tait skate around checking their laces are tied. He's a big guy and players don't know how to take a hit.

He's a big guy who uses his frame much like Lepine for us. (But of course he makes career ending hits also...) To openly state you wish someone to end his career I still can't understand. He's been a servant for his club for a long time and anyone like that deserves to bow out gracefully.

Who was it? old big mouth again? This is what happens when people in authority set a bad standard, idiots follow it. Glad it was removed. Saw the video, not intentional, it was so bad that he picked himself up and had a slash at him. Not that that was captured on the shot. How do you know he picked himself up if it wasnt on the video? Did you see it live? Phillips did take a swipe at zarb with his stick while laying on the ice. With regards to the hit i thought live it was accidental and video shows this.

Cheap? As I said before, he only looks cheap because players skate round checking their laces are still tied. People like that need their head taking off, like lepine on Clark last season.
He's a tough guy, he has the size and ability to handle himself. He's coming to the end of his career and wants to fight less. That's understandable. what about dion darling? He used to be tough, came to the end of his career and didn't want to fight as much. I assume you 'hate' him as well? For the record, i know Voth doesn't really hold a candle to darling but in the circumstances.
Off ice? I'm sorry, I'm not puck bunny, I don't care if players kick puppies for fun as long as they do their job on the ice. You allude to knowing a lot about Voth off the ice. Spill the beans, why is he a 'sick person' off ice?

You allude to knowing a lot about Voth off the ice. Spill the beans, why is he a 'sick person' off ice? I'd like to see a reasonable answer to this. Just how much time can a dingle actually spend with an ice hockey player off-ice (time enough to build an accurate impression of them being a 'sick person') when that player plays for a team that is based about 160 miles away? Now I don't particularly like Voth as a player as I think he is one of the biggest spot pickers in the EIHL but from what I understand he is a fairly nice guy off the ice, as are most hockey players. Go on, tell us of this story of woe and how big, bad Voth spilt your pint or something.

I wouldn't hold your breath, The Cage has a few people who hold themselves out to know loads off the ice but never seem to materialise proof.

Are you playing dumb or can you really not realise why Sheffield fans hate Voth? Cheap play on Tait, he was out for a while. Cheap play on Dagenais, he was a mess after that. Cheap play on Munn, he was in the hospital in Cardiff after that cheap as chips hit last season till past 2am and missed some time.
But then again one set of fans thinks he walks on water now....
Nottingham fans seem to hate Hewitt and Finnerty, is that surprising considering the pest role they play? No, not at all. Are Sheffield fans going to like a player that has injured a load of their players? No.

Nottingham fans seem to hate Hewitt and Finnerty, is that surprising considering the pest role they play? No, not at all. Are Sheffield fans going to like a player that has injured a load of their players? No. I can understand why people hate Voth, I don't particularly like him but some of the above are either wrong or justified if you ask me. First point: I still to this day don't see what the big fuss was about with the Voth hit, I didn't see the fuss with the Lepine hits, I didn't see the fuss when Zion concussed Molin while Zion was at Steelers, I appreciate that injuries have come from these but that's hockey, it's a fast and physical game where players can use their shoulders to knock other people over, some kind of shoulder to shoulder contact is going to result in the following through to the face area. I can appreciate not liking Voth because he injured Tait, but it wasn't a cheap play in my opinion. Second point: The Dagenais thing is a joke, people forget to realise that he went in with his own knees on a Devils player, not the first time he has done this either. He refused to back it up with any actions himself. Voth kept skating after him trying to get him to go but he refused, so Voth lined up a huge hit but Dagenais was too quick for him and Voth missed him. Voth skates after him and slashes Dagenais to the legs, something that a lot of people are saying is fine and a fair amount of retribution to a knee on knee hit with regards the Phillips Zarb incident Voth then glove punches him in the to get him to fight and they fight and Voth wins. Then Dagenais went running to the papers saying that he "feared for his life" when big bad Brad Voth went to fight him!! This is hockey, man up. Lost a serious amount of respect for Randy that day, he was a brilliant player too. Here's a link to the dropyourgloves page that re-tells the whole incidents. www.dropyourgloves.com/Fights/GameEvents.aspx?Game=204848&Fight=198049#Fight198049 The Munn incident I don't know anything about, you're are probably 100% correct. I'm not saying Voth is whiter than white, he can be a dirty cheap shotter, but the points you raised above are exactly the reason why teams sign players like him, to look after the rest of the team and seek retribution for plays that they don't like. I was fuming when no one stuck up for Molin when he got nailed by Zion, it was a fair hit don't get me wrong but Molin was out of it for a while after and Zion was allowed to do it. I applaud Clark, Sladok & Langdon for sticking up for their team mates when Lepine had nailed them, that's what I want to see from my team. I agree with your final comments too mate, I dislike players like Hewitt, Stewart and Finnerty immensly, they're gits, but they are fantastic at the jobs that they are employed to do, and if they played for Panthers they'd be fan favourites, because of the type of players they are. Look at Bruce Richardson, loved everywhere he went, hated by the rest!! And I also agree that Sheffield fans aren't going to like Voth because he's injured and hurt your players that's fair enough. I think people were asking for genuine reasons to hate him and want to see his career ended by an injury.

The Dagenais "Kneeing" incidents weren't on purpose as far as I could tell. I remember the 1st being against Gerad Adams, RD went for a hit and Adams tried to get out of the way, but couldn't dodge the hit, but in trying to get out of the way left his leg trailing and Dagenais went over it. It was unfortunate more than anything else. The second was on Silverthorn I think, Silverthorn and Dagenais are apparently friends, and kneeing your friend would be a pretty lame thing to do on purpose. A lot of kneeings tend to be unintentional (like the Zarb one), it just so happens one player is trying to get out of the way of a hit.
Voth skating up the ice taking a 2 handed slash at his legs and then no choicing him was a poor showing from such a tough guy.
I hate Voth because he is such a reckless player, which leads to other players getting hurt with his huge size and "on the edge" style of play.

seedy, why should i tell you everything i know and i wasnt that bothered about dion darling tbh and what does it matter to you if i hate voth or not? you cant tell me that you are a fan of every player in this league, as for voth being sick i am not no puck bunny either but the few times ive met and seen him hes just not a nice guy and yeah fair enough i agree tbh if they do ther job on ice who cares but you asked why i hate voth and i told you, so end of.
also for record it was Lepine on Globke

ha, love it thats all you guys want to do is ask people out, why do you hate certain players? you just do, i dont like voth end of finner has said he is nice off ice also but that doesnt change my opinion, and also id rather be a dingle than a pussy and cant remember who posted it but open back up the post about us not liking him cos of the tait incident, yes tht was dirty but it's not the reason why i hate him, and as for me wanting voth's ass handing to him then i think im allowed to have that view as many of you lot take the ame view towards our players, in example, hewitt, few panthers have told me how much they hate him. fair enough thats their opinion, just like it's my opinion about voth, so try not to 'call' us all out lol and turn this into another steeltalk. oh and i actually like lepine, great hitter and dmen was one of my favorites last year, have to say there was only one thingthat he did that made me lose respect for him. apart form that great player , cant wait till King and lepine fight, im saying Lepine so far but if anyone can beat lepine it will be King.

also for record it was Lepine on Globke I know it was, that's why I wrote what I did, you might want to read the sentence again properly, I'll put it again here: I applaud Clark, Sladok & Langdon for sticking up for their team mates when Lepine had nailed them, that's what I want to see from my team. The team mates reffered to Globke, Silverthorn and Hartmanis. Clark, Sladok and Langdon were the players that fought Lepine after he'd hit them!! oh and i actually like lepine, great hitter and dmen was one of my favorites last year, have to say there was only one thingthat he did that made me lose respect for him. apart form that great player , cant wait till King and lepine fight, im saying Lepine so far but if anyone can beat lepine it will be King. What did he do to make you lose some respect for him!? Not trying to get info out of you that you may not want to divulge, just curious really. As for King and fighters in general, at the end of the day if they're of a similar size and weight then anyone can beat anyone else on any given night, look at Clouthier v Payette, Clouthier was one of the toughest guys in the league and yet got TKO'd by Payette, who wasn't a bad fighter but shouldn't be beating Clouthier like that surely!? King v Lepine will be good though and I do hope they go plenty of times this year!!

andy, that wasnt towards you about lepine on globke, seedy had put lepine on clark on his post, i dont disagree with your post.
and the incident down in newcastle when he went after prpich and was puching him on the ice, dont matter who they are when theyre on floor you stop its over, and i honestly think a lot of teams will appreciate King this year , he does look after his team mates but he can play and play well, him and hewitt have a great partnership so far, hewitt winds them up and if they get wound up king steps in and they skate away.
atm, im really not looking forward to playing you guys as i want both teams to be fully fit and then we can have a great battle, but weather that happens we will have to wait and see
