Who cares, the only difference it will make is 3 more wins or 3 less wins for the Panthers. lol! Maybe if you looked out the way instead of in you would appreciate that Ice Hockey isn't exactly the biggest sport in the UK and any growth for the top league in the sport should be welcomed? Regardless of the team joining. Your team was saved from the brink not too long ago remember.

I think if Fife have a stable long term business plan for viable EIHL hockey then bring them in by all means, but that would leave Solway in a very tricky situation. They're also too far north for EPL...so for them its ENL1 or EIHL or bust. I cant see Sharks in the EIHL now the Clan are around, so if Fife ditch them and the Northern League goes, Solway NEED enl1 status.
I actually think Solway is the perfect mould for an EPL team. Pity they are so far north...if this isn't an indicator of the urgent reform/need to conference the EPL off, I don't know what is. In 5 years time i'd like to see a system like this:
EIHL (10 imports) - Belfast, Braehead, Cardiff, Cov, Dundee, Hull, Nottingham, Sheffield, then possibly teams in London and Liverpool in a Clan-esque move to plant a new team.
NPL (5 imports only 1 non-EU) - Steeldogs, Manchester, Solway, Fife, Edinburgh, Whitley Bay, Telford, Billingham,
SPL (5 imports, only one non-EU) - Guildford, MK, Slough, Swindon, Peterborough, Basingstoke, Bracknell, IOW.
National North/South (2 imports, must be EU) - everything else left in the ENL, conferenced based on geography.
Premier league is 2x home and 2x away for everyone in your conference, then 1x home and away for each team in the other conference. That would (if my maths is right) make a 44 game regular season, allowing for a longer playoff format and potentially an FA cup style competition involving the EIHL and the National League.
I can dream, can't i?

The rink looks a whole lot better than when I used to go up there. Brighter, nice seats, and you should have seen the 'clock' in the old days.

I do remember, it used to be in the corner up the back, like a giant version of the countdown clock which required manual changing of the scores with giant hanging numbers ;D

Fife to be announced as 10th team in next seasons EIHL. As much as I'd like you to be right... blah blah blah, we've heard it all before, bald statements like that with nothing to back them up... not a good first post, mate. I'd love to see Fife in the EIHL, but please - if you don't have anything to back it up... do us all a favour and wait until you do?

There does seem to be a lot of enthusiasm around the Fife lot at the minute, fingers crossed some positive news is on the way.

I also heard from a friend in Edinburgh that Fife was going to join the league this year, seems all done and dusted.

Great news if true - the addition of Braehead and Dundee seems to have worked well. Is it realistic though to put the whole squad together in just over two months?

To the point and seemingly quite accurate.

But we've heard these same unsupported statements for months now (and a few times a year or so ago, IIRC)... and still nothing. That's why I for one don't believe a word of it until there is official confirmation... and why I see no reason not to challenge such unsupported statements. If someone truly knows what is going on - why can't they either just lay out the supporting evidence or shut up until it's official?

I don't know whether this was referring to the elite league, but I read earlier that Fife would be running with 8 imports and Todd Dutiame will be Head Coach.
