Ok, you may (or may not) have got excited seeing the subject of this post. So I apologise for any underwear soiling that's occurred. As a lifetime Fife Flyers fan I'm keen to see our team back where it belongs, at the top level of Ice Hockey in this country. With that in mind, I've created an online petition which if you support, I hope you will sign to show your support to fellow fans and Ice Hockey in general. Thanks for reading. Petition: www.gopetition.com/petition/44250.htmlPlease spread the word.

Is there not some tin pot politics which would make this doubtful?
Bring anyone on, the more the merrier.

Is there not some tin pot politics which would make this doubtful? Bring anyone on, the more the merrier. There are historical issues between the Fife owner (Tom Muir) and certain members of the EIHL board. I believe there have also been issues with the Guildford owner (John Hepburn), although I suspect the reason Guildford aren't in the EIHL is because they like being big fish in a small pond. It's a shame really because of all the teams currently outside the EIHL, Fife and Guildford along with Manchester would be the best fit for our league. Regards Doom

From what i know Fife applied last season, but too late to really get in. It was a knee jerk reaction to Dundee going for it. With the success Dundee has had along with Braehead in their first seasons. I'm sure Fife will be wanting to seriously look at joining again.

would they replace Edinburgh rather than Newcastle? Geographically at least!

They won't be "replacing" anybody. If a team applied to join the EIHL and were viable they would be accepted. Quite frankly the sport in this country isn't strong enough to turn teams away.

Thanks to anybody that's signed so far. Latest rumour doing the rounds (highly doubt this one!) is that the Hand brothers are interested in buying Fife

I will sign it later as I'm only on here for a short time so will do so when I have time later in the day.
But I did read on BIH recently that it was rumoured that they had applied to join the league. The more the merrier I say.

Well that's certainly more promising news.
The official site (If you can call it that) did not look very encouraging.

If Fife join and we run a 9 team league, we could play each team 3 times home and away, 8 other teams x 3 home games = 24 home league games. Season ticket is 25 games, all league games + 1 cup game with extended play offs?

Sometimes it's hard to tell what level your players are at until you test them, but our team of local lads have beaten both Dundee and Edinburgh this season. Sure, they may have iced 4 imports but that's still more than our 1 (and he's 37).
So I'm hopeful that when ;D we join the Elite league, quite a few of our Brits will step up.
