Worlds worste kept secret is confirmed
DAN CEMAN JOINS FLYERS
Fife Flyers have today announced the signing of former Dundee CCS Stars' player/coach, Dan Ceman who will make his debut in the league game against Coventry Blaze at Fife Ice Arena this evening. Dan left the Taysiders last week and after considering several offers from both this country and abroad, decided to join the Kirkcaldy outfit.
A delighted Coach, Todd Dutiaume said, 'As soon as Dan was released by Stars he was an obvious target for me. I know the type of player he is and he is an easy fit for us. He is a typical guy we target as a player for this organisation, he is a hard worker, a natural goal scorer and with the addition of him and the new defenceman we have signed and waiting on a work permit for, that takes us to nine imports and hopefully a very competitive hockey club. We keep our players healthy then things will be looking up for Flyers in the wins column.'
Dan added, 'Todd contacted me as soon as the news of my release from Stars was known and built up a pretty awesome picture of the club and the future. I remember being here with Stars and how the building was noisy and the passion of the fans and I am looking forward to playing for them and my team-mates. Although I have played pro hockey for a long time I will admit to having a few nerves about tonight's game but I'll be pumped up for it. I'm looking forward to helping the team reach a play-off spot, that is our goal.'
As well as being coach at Dundee, Ceman was also top goal scorer for them this season and Fife fans will be hoping he continues to find the net in the blue and gold. Face-off tonight is at 7.30 pm

Richard Hartmann agrees terms for 2012/13 Edinburgh Capitals have agreed terms to keep Richard Hartmann as player coach for the 2012/13 season. The Capitals have moved early after being greatly impressed with Hartmann and are keen to secure his services and build for the future. Matthew Tailford said, "We all have great confidence in what Richard can achieve and I hope the fans of Edinburgh Capitals will back this move by providing strong support for Richard and the team into the rest of the 2011/12 season and beyond." Scott Neil commented, "In many ways Richard is the perfect player coach for Edinburgh not just from the quality of his play but also from the knowledge, experience and ethos that he brings to the club and team. He is a coach who believes in development and is keen to work on that aspect to produce quality Edinburgh players for the future. Richard has quickly gained the respect of all at the club and we are keen to all work hard to provide as good a platform as possible for Richard to develop the team into 2012 and the 12/13 season."

Bakrlik released by Blaze CPP Coventry Blaze can confirm they have released Czech forward Frantisek Bakrlik with immediate effect. Coach Paul Thompson picked up the 28-year-old on trial at the end of November following his exit from Rapid Solicitors Elite League rivals Hull Stingrays. Bakrlik posted three goals and six assists in 14 games for Blaze but Thompson has decided not to offer him a full-time contract. Thompson said: “Frankie came here on trial after we picked him up after his notice period in Hull . “We have taken a good look at him but we have decided not to take the option to keep him. “We are looking at every option with regards recruitment.” Thompson has also confirmed Swedish defenceman Matt Soderstrom will be in the line-up for the back-to-back games against Belfast Giants on Friday and Saturday and Sunday’s visit of Hull Stingrays. He added: “Matty has fully recovered from his recent knee operation and will be playing this weekend. It gives me a chance to move Russ Cowley or Jonathan Weaver into a forward position. That is something we will look at over the next few days.”
