No Mr Wilson, there is no requirement for teams to be finalised before the start of the season. Belfast have one more import registered than they can ice in any one game, Coventry have only signed 9 (one less than the max), I have somewhat lost count with the others but Fife have several more imprts to sign as do Edinburgh. Its rather a case of cutting your cloth to suit your financial situation, some teams havent even played a match yet, others have played 2 or 3 friendlies to get a good start to the season (hopefully).
If you want to see Jordan and Brock on our local news program try bbc.co.uk/nottingham and click on the link for East Midlands Today. The friday show will be on late friday or at some point on saturday.
We look forward to seeing you in Nottingham, my Mum went to matches in 1958 (and still does) and would love to see you again.

Fife Flyers can today confirm one addition to their 2011/12 inaugural Elite Ice Hockey Season, Canandian netminder Garrett Zemlak. Garrett has experience playing with Matt Siddall’s former team Gwinnet Gladiators of the ECHL. Garrett Zemlak (22) joins the Flyers with a hugely impressive reputation after being invited to the Los Angelese Kings development camp by assistant GM, and former NHL legend, Ron Hextall. During his time at the development camp, Zemlak had one-to-one coaching sessions with the Kings coaching staff and NHL veteran of over 600 games Stanley Cup winner (twice) and 1990 Conn Smythe winner, Bill Ranford. Fife Flyers had also hope do announce a further signing however delays have put that on hold for just now. We can confirm both Garrett and fellow import Matt Cohen will arrive tomorrow (Friday) in time for the weekends action with Coventry Blaze.

A good signing by the Clan. I thought Bayrack was one of those under-rated players last year.

Hartmann impressed with Menton Friday, 16 September 2011 Edinburgh Capitals player/coach Richard Hartmann has been very impressed with latest player addition Sean Menton. Menton was so keen to come and play for the Capitals that he made his own arrangements to fly in ready to train and make his mark to make things easier for the club. Sean Menton has been cleared to play this weekend. He spent the summer skating with Alex Kim and is a player who skates well and is very skilled on the puck. Sean is very eager to take this opportunity to establish himself in Europe and thinks the big ice at Murrayfield will definitely suit his style of play. Richard Hartmann said, "I am impressed by Sean's enthusiasm and determination to play and look forward to seeing what he can do against the Belfast Giants and Nottingham Panthers this weekend. There aren't many players who would go to the lengths that Sean has which makes him a unique guy from the off." www.edinburgh-capitals.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63:hartmann-impressed-with-menton&catid=2:news&Itemid=7for all EIHL player signings visit www.hockeynetuk.co.uk and look in player movement and signings section

Bakrlik released by Stingrays Excel Hull Stingrays can confirm they have released Czech forward Frantisek Bakrlik with immediate effect. The 28-year-old was Stingrays’ third-highest point-scorer with 22 points (six goals and 16 assists) in 27 games this season but he managed just one goal in five-on-five play. Player-coach Sylvain Cloutier said: “We brought Frankie here to make a big contribution to our scoring and to be one of our leading goalscorers. “We expected more but unfortunately things have not worked out for him. He is a good guy and a good team-mate and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Blaze move for Bakrlik CPP Coventry Blaze can confirm they have signed Czech forward Frantisek Bakrlik as injury cover. Coach Paul Thompson moved quickly for the 28-year-old after he was released by Rapid Solicitors Elite League rivals Hull Stingrays. With Blaze forward Owen Fussey ruled out for between four to six weeks, Thompson turned to Bakrlik, who will be in the line-up for the league trip to Braehead Clan on Wednesday night. Thompson said: “We have a couple of injuries right now. Owen is a quick healer but the injury he has normally takes four to six weeks, although I am sure he will aim to be back before then. “When I found out Frankie was being released I thought it was the perfect opportunity for us. I have told him that if he plays well for us during this period he can earn himself a permanent contract. “Frankie coming in will hopefully shake things up a bit as I am not getting the consistency I want from some of the guys. But he knows if he plays well he can earn a place on the roster and maybe we decide to move someone on. “He is a big player, physical and imposing. He has a big shot and is highly skilled. We have seen him a few times already this season and he has played well against us. He now has an opportunity to show us what he can do. “We are pretty close to being a good team, I really don’t think we are that far away, and the club have backed me to help keep the momentum going.”
