Danish move for Phillips CPP Coventry Blaze can today confirm Great Britain defenceman David Phillips has agreed to join Danish side SønderjyskE. The 24-year-old arrived at the Skydome in the summer after spending the past two seasons alternating between the American Hockey League and ECHL. After five years with hometown club Hull Stingrays, Phillips moved to Belfast Giants for the 2008/09 campaign and helped them win the Challenge Cup and Knockout Cup before heading to North America . Phillips registered 23 points (four goals and 19 assists) in 44 games for Blaze but now joins a team who are top of the AL-Bank Ligaen. Coach Paul Thompson said: “Davey received a great offer from Denmark and I was not going to stand in his way. “I also had to do what was best for Coventry Blaze and was not just going to let him go but with Peter Nylander coming in it gave me that opportunity. “Davey is a big talent and he is joining a top team and I wish him all the very best. Europe is where he wants to be and I hope he is successful there.”

Think we can leave it til 2011/12 is done and dusted, there's always a few signings already made. Sure Panthermick will do the honours once the season's finished.
