Promised I'd get back to you about any changes to stats and I've completed going through the GRS on the OS. One deleted assist, some added and even TOI and SOG to Kerlin added. Next step is to check all my stats add up correctly to the GRS totals before I add them to the 'All-Time' stats and pen them on here for you to peruse.

Who's going to the Legend pub this weekend coming? I have a table reserved, when should it be taken by (time?), would our names be on the table given? Just asking as I'm not sure how to catch Shelley, have twitter but I'm a useless techno.

Brilliant couldn't have ended up any better... I bet the arena is barely half full.. well done Smith and co 👏😂 Was the crowd very low for this? Our attendance? 4051 it says on the GRS if that is to be believed. 1546 in Guildford.

'SUMS UP THE SEASON' - yes a pun. Not only for the way we went out of the play offs and ending our season but for the poor Elite presentation of statistics once again.
Elite have altered some GRS sheets recently and could do more soon, who knows. So you may have seen some changes in player numbers/totals. I will now be doing my own 'end of season' count up, double check and finalising all of the numbers.
When I have checked all I will make a note here to let you know.
For now, those nearly landmark tallies: Myers 1 short of his 400th point, Matheson 5 games short of his 150th, Tousignant 3 pims short of 100, Boivin 8 pims short of 50.
Here ends the 21-22 season.
Michael
Final note : Congratulations to Christophe Boivin on his 50th assist (52 in all now) for the Nottingham Panthers. Kevin Carr moves into 7th all-time TOI for Panthers.

RE Boivin - could they be counting preseason? I think he was at least +2 goals in those 4 games, don't think Welsh tallied. Would that push him over the top or would he still trail? As regards top Goals and points awards they shouldn't. Just domestic competition really and I think the League (as that has just finished) is the one it comes from anyway. Particularly as we've never included European or challenge before. But this is Nottingham of course, nothing traditional. Including challenge games - three points for Boivin - it would still have Welsh ahead by one anyway, 67 to 66. They awarded top Goals to Boivin, so it has to be the League because the Play-Offs are still underway and more can be added to a tally if all domestic competition was calculated.

St. George's day play off bout sees Flames v Panthers come up with a first leg draw at 4-4. Not many of those in Ice Hockey of course.
Matt Myers now has 619 appearances for the club overtaking Stephen LEE ON 618. Is now 5 games behind Zamick in 4th place. He is also equal 12th with Simon Hunt with 399 points in all-time stats for the club. 10 behind 11th place Kenny Westman.
Also one goal behind Gerry Watson who is in 17th place in all-time lists for that category.
WC group 2B now completed with Iceland promoted.

Coventry show some spine and tie Belfast 2-2, Belfast should do a number on them in The 2nd Leg. Dundee score a late winner in Sheffield and shut them up 1-0 but it can be easily overturned tomorrow. Glasgow lead 4-2, Cardiff in big trouble. That’s about it. I’m really excited about the results from tonight but there’s 60 to go,we’re only half way there. But let’s be positive, we are at home like Dundee. Coventry with some work to do or hanging on and Glasgow have it in their hands only to throw away.

Such a shame to see Coventry blow it with 33 seconds left and now having to face the Giants. Dundee tied it up at 59.27 and took it in OT. Guilford it is for Panthers. Not that it really matters now with the injury list. I think we'd have had a fair chance against any of the teams below us if it wasn't for the injuries, just cant see it the way things are. But for that extra point that Dundee wanted from regulation and we'd have been playing them instead. Everything tight after the main three at the top.

With two to four possible games left in the season...Christophe Boivin is one 'assist' away from his 50th, Matt Myers two 'points' from his 400th Tousignant 5 penalty minutes from his 100th.
Final league table complete. One more point from tonight's game and Dundee would have finished 4th (to play us in the Play Offs) rather than 7th.
Play-Offs due next Coventry v Belfast Sheffield v Dundee Cardiff v Glasgow Guildford v Nottingham
Other numbers...from new players
50 game plus Baillargeon, Brassard, Lane, Norrish, Thow and Welsh
50 points plus Baillargeon, Welsh
Penalty Minutes 50 and over Thow
Penalty Minutes 100 and over Baillargeon
Congratulations Mark Matheson who achieved his 100th game in a Panthers shirt.

I'm thinking that 4th through to 8th in the league could end up being only four points from one placing to another if Coventry beat Dundee plus Glasgow and Guildford come away with wins against the bottom two, who have not made the play-Offs.
Otherwise if Dundee do stay 7th by winning over the light blues, Coventry may feel left behind in the end stuck between the middle bunch and the non qualifier's.
So glad the league comes to an end today.

Fourth place confirmed and will play the fifth placed team in the league at season end play-offs.
Congratulations to Kevin Domingue who just squeezed in his 50th game for Nottingham after so much injury this season and what may be his last game in 21-22.
Only possible 'old boy' achievements this end of season can be Matheson's (needs one) 100th point, Myers (needs two) 400th point, Boivin's (needs three) 50th assist and Tousignant's (needs five) 100th penalty minute.

Doimingue looked like he'd popped his shoulder? He's done like dinner if so, surely? I thought it was maybe a broken collar bone No, wasn't that the guy who Paws fell upon after fainting whilst hanging over a rail? Possibly on the IR list with the players. That be Paws not the supporter. Then again, couldn't script it this season.

Not sure where to put this, but.... Where on Earth has the "We hunt as one" strapline on the Panthers' twitter account come from? It's not only (frankly, to these ears) a bloody awful strapline, but implies that Panthers hunt in packs; many animals (the fans, if you will) hunting, but hunting "as one" (the fans all getting behind the team?). Which Panthers actually don't. Panthers are solitary hunters, mainly stalking and ambush predators. In reality, the "black panther" in the wild (as depicted on pretty much every Panthers logo I can think of) is a melanistic version of either a leopard or jaguar, not strictly a species in its own right. Or am I just shouting at the telly...? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_pantherIt also leads to the point, why is the team with seemingly zero logical connections called the Panthers? I know that plenty of teams are named after animals, but the animal usually has local links, even if only symbolic. At a stretch some places just use something alliterative (at the same time Panthers formed there was a team in the same league called the Perth Panthers). Is there any reason why Nottingham became "Panthers"? I only gathered that 'no one knows' why we are the 'Panthers'. Just a chosen name at the time I guess, rather than any connection. No green jerseys (till this season?) … The match programme once listed the Nottingham teams first set of players. Though they didn't as it was, in fact, those Perth players you mentioned. Very good reason to try and stay 'home' with the naming AND be different to others in the same sport.

Don't know what to think now lol. Hopefully getting the win against Coventry will give us confidence now that we can win with Kerlin in net I'm off to the bookies for all three to be home wins in our last league games.
