So tonight we're down to 13 skaters, plus our 3 goalies.
If MK don't play ball and let us use Hook & Cownie on Tuesday, I vote that we sign the pair next season (assuming they'd want to of course) and strike up a deal with another EPL team.
This is a bloody farce.

Unlike the NHL, in the UK it's the "minor" team that has the power on whether to release a two-way contracted player or not according to their own needs. Frustrating I agree, and is also a major reason why the Clan haven't been able to call on their two-way players either.
Ideally EIHL teams would own their affiliated teams, but of course the resources aren't there for that to be possible.

Good young players, like these two, will get better ice time at some of the other clubs than Panthers. Maybe we could sign one, but having 2 or 3 of the most talented youngsters is unlikely to do their long term prospects much good.
I would have loved to have seen more of them this season, and over the longer term, buy a young player has to make sure they will be progressing.

You would have thought that Panthers could make the financial commitment to have a youngster or two on the books full time, but then loan them out to an epl team for regular hockey if not required?

MK are battling in the league as well. I have no idea if they are short benched. Why are Nottingham more important than MK's battle?

Are these two on 2-way deals? I know they've played for us a few times this season, but in the press on MK's website I couldn't see any mention of us, and nothing from us either (although that's no guarantee of anything). I know Norton was, and I'm not sure we've seen him at all, although we're reasonably healthy in defence.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but EPL teams generally don't play mid-week right? So what's the issue with them playing for us mid-week? MK have stated that they don't want them playing with us. Forgive me, but I want MY team (Panthers) to be doing as good as possible, therefore I don't really care what MK want. Hence the moving the duo to a different EPL team who do want to work with us.

There are often EPL games mid-week. I understand you want your team to do well, but it doesn't answer why Panthers are more important than MK. I think you'll find every EPL team will be the same. I know Luke Ferrara has been on a 2 way with steelers, and Peterborough always get priority over the steelers. It is the way it is, always has been, and hopefully, always will be.

Looking at ALL domestic games this season (not including the other 11 for Challenge, Tournament or CHL matches)
Ollie Betteridge 7 Jordon Cownie has played 2 Sam Gospel (n/m), Lewis Hook and Tom Hovell (n/m) 1
Big hype on 2 ways or whatever - is it worth it?
- On another stat 49 (and most) games played by Lawrence,Lacho, Schmidt and Boxill

If being a two way player doesn't get you a wage from the EIHL club it's really a bit pointless. With the lack of Brits a two way deal should benefit everyone involved.

Are we sure they're on 2-way deals though? Perhaps it was just a temporary loan previously, like when Oakford played that weekend in the EPL.
