My VCR just recorded 3 hours of LivingTV instead of Sky One. I blame Moray Hanson. Well, I can't really blame him for the loss tonight, but he's so bad he has to be blamed for something! He certainly wasn't bad tonight, I thought he had an excellent game. Couldn't disagree with any call he made.

Then again, after tonight's game, 3 hours of LivingTV might not be so bad... it looks like I recorded "Biggest Loser UK", and "Extreme Makeover UK"... is someone trying to give us a hint ? LMAO !! ;D ;D Perhaps what we need is a bit of "Nip/Tuck" ?

A very poor performance...Can't say much more really... I blame the "play off flag" every time thats out we lost...in the play offs, and this season. After what I've heard tonight the flag wont be a problem in the future- aparantly the NIC are banning it!

What a performance! Never have I shouted so much in a game! Our passing was ridiculous, players were never where they were supposed to be IF an opportunity came about. And when Hull intercepted our lazy passes, it looked as though we just couldn't be bothered to get it off them until the very last point where they were in their offensive zone. What utter rubbish. Please don't do this on Saturday Panthers! Bad enough to be humiliated like this tonight, but by Sheffield... Buck ya ideas up!

I wasn't joking If you mouth off at the ref it's a misconduct If you put the puck over the plexi it's a delay of game penalty I thought he called it spot on.

20 years of being a Panthers fan and tonight I was lost for words! Neilson- I cant skate but i'm sure if I got down on all 4's id get past him. Utter rubbish and first one shown the door.
God help us on Saturday night I think we will lose by 5 clear goals.
Cant keep blaming the CC, if the players are not big enough to move on from that then what the hell are they doing here?? We have one player in Simoes who plays with heart and pride in this side but sadly the rest are here for a holiday.
Another season with sweet fanny adams to show for it come April time!
Lets be honnest we have seen some awful Panther displays over the years but this one must be in the top 5.
I didnt boo the team of the ice at the end because in all honnesty they wasnt good enough to even be booed

rubbish, load of cobblers.
We let them play their game... whats the old saying... "if it aint broke...." So why has Elly decided to swap lines that were working, and working damn well.... now we have 3 lines that just dont work.
Kreciek looked MOM material to me tonight. Untill he lost it at the end.
Cant blame Lindsay for the result at all. Poor overall, must do better.

Simoes just stood there as the player skated into him and he called it for interference! Simoes didn't even move an inch!!

Honest question here. trolls dont bother replying
Is it really the CC fault for your slump. Having seen some applications by players, one of the reasons for players signing is the fact that the team is playing in a European competition. Cynically I would say its because they are looking a season ahead and looking for big bucks next season.
I think playing in the CC is a superb experience for both players and coach. ( The fans love the wee wee up, but that is irrelevant).
Reckon you are just suffering from a rookie coach who has not figured out how to counteract adversity. Not surprising, its a bitch of a job. Your man is a clever hockey player, he will figure it out. Looks like you maybe need a couple of changes in players to get the best out of the rest. Plenty of players around who have not made the CHL or ECHL. Prudent changes will turn it around.

Same old same old. Terrible performance. No passion, no ability total embarresment. Hope they were ashamed to be wearing the panthers strip, cause they should be. They couldn't control anything, weren't interested in chasing anything. Hard to call how good a team Hull are cause Sutton Sting could have beat us tonight!
To many really to list because no one played as a team tonight but thought Myers, Neilson and Moran were particularly bad. Myers perhaps should think about investing in some starter skates maybe then he can stay on his feet.
Nothing more to say really, just total garbage!

I thought Hanson did ok too though I was a bit mystified by a few of his calls. He let quite a bit of free arm interference go - his interpretation of ZT isn't quite the same as mine but I'm not complaining about tonight - we got what we deserved, a lot of PIMs and precious little else. I would like clarification of the "Delay of Game" rule though - I was under the impression that if the puck was shot directly into the team bench by a defender in the defensive zone it wasn't called as DoG (seeing as there is no plexi there). But the refs seem to be calling it.... Hanson must have called 3 times tonight.

Shocker of a game tonight. No-one played as a team and looks like the players didn't know whether they were attacking or defending. Blaz, Jan, Meyers - MoM contenders IMO Neilson - Did he know which team he was playing for? For the "Quarterback" of the team, he "threw" that many interceptions tonight it was unreal. Matt Myers - Did he take his skate guards off? Every time he came near where i was sitting, he was on his backside. Simoes - I think was the only player who really wanted to win after the first goal went in. Stuck up for the guys too. Still, not one of his best performances by a long shot. Mike Rees, Lindsay, Cooke, Shmyr, McAslan, Stevens and Clarkey - All averagely poor IMO. Come Saturday, the team need to step their game up, otherwise, the steelers will walk all over us.

MP,
Had the same problem on Sunday at Ice Sheffield. The IIHF rules state that it is not delay of game if it goes into the bench area but Nigel called it on Sunday. Perhaps we can have a stripey clarify

Canadian and American Hockey players on holiday in the UK comes to mind! At least most East European players look like they think the UK is worth busting a gut for... take the Stingrays for example!

Honest question here. trolls dont bother replying Is it really the CC fault for your slump. I wish I knew the answer to that Tambo. I can only go on the evidence I've seen - and I've not seen all that many Panthers games this season. Prior to the CC we seemed to play confident, exuberant hockey. Real run and gun stuff and a great team spirit there for all to see. We didn't defend too well but that didn't matter as the goals were going in at the other end. Since the CC I see a team not really playing as a team, lacking ideas in attack, defending poorly, seeming to struggle for speed and lacking in confidence. Perhaps it's just co-incidence - but it's hard to not to think that the players have suffered a dent to their confidence during the CC and hockey, like most sports, is a confidence game. Prior to the CC Panthers were used to winning and didn't know what losing meant. Now losing has become a habit and they seem to have forgotten what winning is all about. Up until now I'd been in favour of our participation in the Continental Cup but I've got serious doubts now. If this season's players may have signed up with an eye to their career prospects via the CC - perhaps underachieving has left them deflated. Whatever is the case - they certainly are not performing at the moment, though take nothing away from the Caps, Rays and Phoenix - they all went out and played a good game against us and we had no answers.

Well put MP. I seem to remember Mike Ellis saying(before the CC) that the team believe that they can`t lose and that he`s having to try and keep their feet on the ground! Well they`ve certainly come down to earth with a bang havn`t they? They seem to have changed their game plan and they arn`t gelling as they were before. Why the line changes? Is it a coincidence that ME changes the lines round and we fall to pieces? Why not go back to whatever they were doing before the CC,forget any ideas that they had from that trip, erase the CC from their minds and try to pick up where they left off. Please, please, please get it sorted before Saturday night! I was really looking forward to Sat until tonight and now I have a steadily increasing feeling of impending doom!

Tambo Tambo, if the event witnessed by my GF is anything to go by it may not be just imports that we will need to be looking for. One of the Brits gave a right gob full of abuse at Calle tonight. Not the sort of thing that promotes team harmony. Is there anyone that sits behind our bench that heard what was said? (I believe that a few cage members sit within earshot).

Where to start, I've defended Lindsey up till now but the first goal was all his fault, an easy stop which he allowed to slip under him, into the net. The second broke well for Hull, but Lindsey falling backwards into the net and giving their man a simple tap in didn't help. The third he was blameless. Personally I don't think any player came out of tonight with much credit, the man of the match award insulted the intelligence of everyone in the building, our defence is seriously lacking, Neilson in particular looks totally lost. Forward play is also poor, lacking any shape, with lazy passing and positional play. Moran is still out of his depth and Myers cannot stay on his feet. Unfortunately Panthers dip in form has caused a serious disipline problem, which tonight in the third period destroyed any faint hope of the Panthers even getting a toehold in the match. As someone has already stated, here's where Mike Ellis earns his salary because the Panthers appear to be in a downward spiral. Six defeats on the trot and only one win in eight is a damning endightment.
