I think its ok, some good up to date music. I think they shouldn't keep flooding the breaks in play with Sponsors.

Whats dull about it?
The new intro is great.... at least it feels like an intro rather than just a song we play to come on the ice.
Some of the break in play music was a bit boring... but i liked the innocent man track

I guess if you have to mention the penalty box sponsors every time someone gets a penalty, we'll be hearing them a lot in the near future...
Did have a chuckle at 'Innocent Man' once I'd recognised it... But I miss "Time to Go" and the individual intro for the players

I was so disappointed not to hear Black and Gold played as the team skated out and think GARY MORAN should introduced each individual player with his enthusiasm. It seems such a better build up and start to the game than the limp introduction the players received tonight. After cheering the first few names it seemed pointless as they all skated around in the dark! Surely they deserve a better welcome than that!! The music throughtout the game was a disappointment also. It's good to introduce new music but the old favourites should also be included. The sound system didn't sound very clear and the music played when play stopped didn't get the crowd involved. The game was excellent though. ;D

Yeah i agree in in row p in block 16 and the music was coming then going. Was going loud then really low, it sounded like it was coming from the scoreboard, then coming back from the rafters.

It seemed to throw the Wildcats off too, they want the old music back. I thought they did fine and the DJ was getting used to the new music as well. I liked it for the most part.

Have a mix, just going for the new stiff out right doesnt get the croud involved, have afew oldies.
The sound quality was lacking, it was far too base orientated, the lower the output the harder it is to hear words, thats what the problem tonight was, ide fire the sound engineer if i was the NIC.

I'm amazed...
For years this forum has been flooded with people begging for a new intro because ours was "the worst in the league", we get one and everyone wants the old one back! Talk about fickle!
Obviously I wasn't there, and in honesty won't make a game all season, but it really sounds to me like we need to work out what we want!
Oh and FWIW that old intro was truly dire so this one can't be WORSE surely?!

I though the bit of classical music where Paws was stood in the smoke was great! But all the other intro music was totally muffled and I couldn`t tell what it was and it could have been anything for all i could tell I was a bit disappointed with the whole introduction and match night presentation to be honest. The bloke who announces the team onto the ice just does not cut it IMO. Like him or loathe him,GM does a great job of announcing the team onto the ice. I like the idea of giving the first name of the goal scorer and the crowd joining in with his surname, but I think a few weeks are needed for everyone to get to know the players names first. Fair play to the Panthers for wanting to revamp things and I`m all for progression.Just a bit of(hopefully)constructive criticism.

The music and announcements were almost totally inaudible from where we sit (back of block 13) so can't comment too much. Will have to reserve judgement on the intro until I can actually hear it. The player announcements have always been incomprehensible, you could have anyone on the roster for all you can hear of their names (for example, last night from what we could hear our line up included Big Dave Steeler, Eddie the Eagle and Desert Orchid). Particularly for the first game of the season, announcements of all names without yelling and being drowned by music would be useful.
As for the "announce the first name, get the crowd to shout the second" idea - I was under the impression that this was something for the player intros when they come onto the ice. When announcing a goal, I found it totally embarrassing (sorry Stef, nothing against your announcements, just the concept) and was cringeing by the third or fourth one. It's a bit like when they tried to orchestrate the barmy army chant a couple of years ago - this kind of thing has to start with the fans themselves. If fans start shouting out the surnames during the intros, then the announcer can eventually stop saying it himself. Just my opinion of course.

Intro and music refreshingly new and up to date, and guess what? I never heard a 60s track all night! About blooming time. Didn't see the whole intro, but, as said above, it can't be any worse.

You will never please everyone, but you can try to please the most part... however thats the difficult part. For me the intro is better, could tweek it a little but better. I think the carmen music was great with the panthers roar... maybe have black and gold playing at the end of the intro just before the puck drops. I think the intro music should be load and lively while the building is in darkness, then the lights should be more elaberate and the music quieter and softer as the announced introduces the players slowly one by one, and this way the first name surname thing would work.
Break in play music, well over the last few years its been on a downward spiral. Bring back eric!!!!
not sure who was doing the announcing, i know its not GM but not sure whos doing it now, but dont forget its a nerve racking thing to do, give him a chance he might turn out ok

But surely they should have played "Glad All Over" when Dave Clark #5 completed his hat trick.
Gotta agree it doesn't seem at all right without Brainbug. You hear that tune on the radio or tv and it takes you to the game. Surely they can use that and "Time To Go" somewhere Pre-game. I agree that some change is necessary and we fans aren't always the most vocal, at home anyway, but they should keep the good points. Personally I thought last season was the best player intro we have ever had, "Time To Go" started the adrenaline pumping,in comparison last nights intro was a little muted, in both ways. If you go to the HOS or Cov's sponsordome it's always loud and in yer face. It gets the crowd going.
By all means try something new, but mix it with old, introduce it gradually not in one lump, BUT for goodness sake, make it LOUD enough to hear.

Until they sort out the PA system, it doesn't really matter to me what music they play as you cant tell what it is.
I have no idea what the players skated round to at the end of the game!!
