Anyone seen Zombieland, great fun. Brilliant film, witty diaglogue, great cameo by Bill Murray. All round awesomeness! Yep, saw it on pay per view on Sky a few months ago; I like that genre and really enjoyed the film. The sequel should be quite good if they can keep the script akin to the original.

Just watched the orginal Dracula and Frankenstein both great films from the 1930s. And looking forward to watching Freaks.

I went to see the Expendables at the weekend - brilliant film, action-wise anyway, the story itself was pretty predictable but when you look at the cast it's not really a film to see for story - definitely for the action! Definitely recommend it i'll be giving this a miss.... i tend to find these type of films mind numbing!

The A-Team:-
Entertaining, if somewhat shallow... but then, that's no surprise. Liam Neeson does a decent job of Hannibal Smith, and Murdoch is still my favourite character. I was pleasantly surprised by the new 'Face' - couldn't stand him in the original series, but this version works. Be prepared for some extreme let's-ignore-the-laws-of-physics silliness, though... it's no spoiler to give an example quote:- "Are they trying to shoot down the drone?" "No, they're trying to fly the tank!" ;D
Salt:-
Not bad... Angelina Jolie doing a female Jason Bourne, with a bit of a twist. Good action, reasonable storyline... a few nice little twists. Not the best I've seen, but worth a watch.
Think I'll go for the total no-brainer next... The Expendables.

OK... went to see The Expendables... wasn't expecting an awful lot - unfortunately, it didn't even live up to those expectations.
Some of the action scenes weren't bad at all, some were bog-standard. The acting was even worse than I'd expected, and if they'd spent on the script more than 0.0001% of what they must have paid the actors, it might have been half-decent. As it was, the script must have been scribbled on the back of a cigarette-packet by Stallone (who allegedly wrote it). He also allegedly directed it... proving that he should stick to being an actor.
So sue me, but I happen to think that you can make action films with a bit of intelligence to them. There was no intelligence involved in this film whatsoever... well, except for the marketing. Which is all this film is IMHO - it's the action film equivalent of a manufactured boy-band.
Avoid.

Think I'll go for the total no-brainer next... The Expendables. T'was indeed a no brainer, but you get what you see with this film - total shoot em up action packed fun. Never gonna win awards for script writing or acting, but I really enjoyed it: remove your brain for hour and half, sit back and be entertained by total OTT action. Glorious ;D

Anti Christ was an odd movie; beautifully crafted but uncomftable viewing in parts.

I used to think the same but I saw Flash Gordon the other day and it was awesome. I would rather watch Flash Gordon TBH. Brian Blessed is a genius!
Why no sequel?

'The Empire Strikes Back' is undoubtedly the best of the Star Wars films... and, as Buster says, that's surely partly down to Lucas not directing it (nor writing it... two 'proper' writers). The man had some great ideas, but also some not-so-great ones, as proved by the prequel trilogy <shudders>.

I pretty sure that was the whole point of this movie, just an old fashioned shoot em up over the top action movie.

Is it me or is 'Due date' just 'planes, trains and automobiles' with a worse cast?

Skyline is poor. Good special effects, but poor storyline and acting.

Pretty much. They are good special effects, and if thats your thing, then you will probably enjoy it.
Seemed they had a load of good effects and then tried to build a story around it.

I think Avatar had a lot more substance than Skyline!
The more I think about Skyline, the more I can find to pick fault with it.

I think Avatar had a lot more substance than Skyline! In that case, Skyline has to be truly appalling, then... because Avatar was IMHO all effects and little else... poor acting, banal and totally predictable storyline - very little substance whatsoever. Good eye-candy, but not much more than that.
